Following an accident, my father was given emergency accommodation at West View during the height of the Pandemic. The manager and her team could not have done anything more to make my father feel so welcome and supported. Their very genuine care, all carried out with warmth and good humour has brought
Dad back from an exceptionally traumatic time, and four months later, he’s feeling very safe, secure and happy. I can’t thank everyone at West View enough.

Would just like to say that I am very pleased that my great aunt is looked after. The staff are always very friendly and are extremely helpful. The food and catering services look very nice too. I’m just glad that I know that she is being well looked after during these difficult times.

My mother-in-law was very happy in her care home and received excellent care. The staff showed her great compassion and would do anything to make her time there a happy one. She loved all the extra activities provided, especially the ones that involved dancing and children. Thank you to all the staff
involved in her care.

I did not want to come to West View Lodge. I wanted to stay at home. But, now that I am settled here I have to say how good it is. All the staff are so kind and caring. Nothing is too much for them and I am so very grateful to every one of them. Thank you all so very much.

My mother has lived in Westview lodge for around 2 years now. I feel more relaxed now knowing that my mam has carers with her over a 24 hour period. If I have raised any concerns they have been addressed straight away.

I cannot praise the staff enough, especially during this recent COVID pandemic. Everyone, from the cleaners to the manager has been amazing. Several of the staff have assisted my mother to FaceTime which has been invaluable when visiting the home has been restricted. I cannot thank them enough for all
they are doing to keep my mother safe.

On more than one occasion my Mam was found with no pants or trousers on. one carer said she was going to ring us as she had no more clothes. When we looked in the wardrobe she had plenty. Carer came into her room pulling faces when she had to be hoisted. She was often told to wait to go to the toilet
(30-40minutes) as they were getting lunch ready or someone else using the hoist. Which resulted in her having an accident. We had to ask for someone to look at her legs (looked like bleeding under the skin) they said they hadn’t noticed because they see her every day. Her tablets were often put on the table and they didn’t wait to ensure they were taken. The food was often cold and inedible. A carer was spotted on two occasions vaping in the corridor. We felt there was a lack of communication. The younger staff showed more compassion than the older staff. The security in and out of the building was excellent.

I have received the best care for the past three weeks. The carers are so happy to help and support you and provide you with advice. The physios have been marvellous and taught me the skills I need to manage at home. Also, the domestic staff have helped. Everyone cheered me up and amongst all the work
they do they always have a smile. Me and my family are so grateful and I will miss you all. A big thank you for everything.

My mam got admitted on 1st November 2019 to Westview Lodge and she loves it. Mam was only supposed to be there for two weeks respite but now she is full-time.
We are very pleased with the care and attention Mam receives. I can't fault the manager and all the staff at the home.
Good clean standards.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.195)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.195) out of 10 for Westview Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.687 for Westview Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 115 Ratings = 4.687
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.508 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westview Lodge Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.8 = 0.608
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
