Westview Lodge Care Home

Each time I have visited the home it's always had a friendly atmosphere. The staff are always happy, nothing is ever too much to ask for. On a couple of occasions when I have visited the care staff have been sat talking to my friend, it is lovely to see them spend time to chat and listen to residents.

My mum has been admitted to Westview Lodge for assessment from hospital. The carers are really friendly and helpful and all the staff. Very clean place and the residents all seem happy. Unfortunately, the food is always cold when my mum gets it she says, but is enjoyable.

The care that my mother has received at Westview Lodge has been second to none. The carers in the Jubilee Unit have been beyond helpful and caring. The food is fantastic, and nothing is too much trouble for the kitchen.

I am very pleased with the care my aunt receives. She is always happy, and that makes me happy. All the staff are special and really take good care of her; always pleasant and ready to help her in any way.

My uncle spent several periods of respite in this care home before becoming a resident earlier this year. He has a comfortable room, overlooking the community garden, that he can adorn with his personal memories, pictures etc. It has appropriate furniture and support aids to help his mobility, with easily accessible staff and emergency contact switches. The team responsible for his care, the administrative support team and their manager are all very friendly and professional. When a kind word of support is needed - it's given, when a sympathetic ear is needed - they listen and when a cheery smile is needed to brighten a grey day - it's there. Since moving in they've provided excellent care and it's comforting to see him settled and comfortable. Medication is provided as instructed, meals are varied and accommodate his dietary requirements, the laundry service provides clean laundered clothes and his room is regularly cleaned by the ever-cheery cleaning team.

My mother was admitted to Westview Lodge Care Home after a stay in hospital to fully recover after a fall. We as a family are so impressed with the level of care she received from everyone. Could not recommend this home enough.

The staff are very polite and very helpful. The food was said to be very good. I am very grateful for the care and attention shown to my sister.

My wife was admitted to the Jubilee wing on the 14th of March 2022 and was unable to walk. She has made brilliant progress and is now able to walk again with the aid of a walking frame. The care she has received here is outstanding, her dignity has always been considered and the staff have always considered her needs. The food is excellent and the cook and kitchen staff should be congratulated. I cannot thank you enough for the care, friendliness and efforts of all concerned. All the staff are first-class.

The residents are happy and they are treated with dignity and respect. They are offered a wide variety of food at all meal times and activities to do every day. Everywhere is so clean and tidy.

The food that the residents are served is fantastic, like nothing I’ve seen in the previous care home.

Staff are always polite and courteous and with their efforts they go the extra mile!

My Mum spent three months at Westview Lodge, she was put onto end-of-life care and sadly passed away on the 28th of August 2021. I couldn't have wished or wanted anywhere else for my Mum to be. The care, compassion, love and support from the staff on the Marine ward was second to none, we were so well looked after and more importantly so was my Mum. Nothing was too much trouble and her every need was catered for.

The staff are very supportive and welcoming with my dad. He very much enjoyed his stay at Westview Lodge.

Mum is currently on palliative care. I have the utmost respect for the staff in West View Lodge. My mum could not be more cared for, she is kept clean, comfortable and warm, regular phone calls have been made to me if there has been any kind of issue and nothing has been too much trouble. How lucky are we to have such excellent care facilities on our doorstep, thank you all staff for your ongoing care and support towards our mother.

The Care provided to my mother by the team and especially one member of staff in particular, at Westview Lodge has been excellent. The staff are always helpful, understanding and supportive with keeping us informed of Mam’s status. It is not easy under the current restrictions, but it is made easier knowing the care for my Mother is excellent. Kind regards.

I have nothing but gratitude and admiration for these wonderful carers. Their skill and kindness - always a smile even when under real pressure - have vastly improved my Dad's life. I think they're exceptional.

I have no doubt in my mind that my mother-in-law has been taken care of very well during the pandemic. It’s been hard as family to have limited contact but I know the staff at Westview Lodge attend to my mother-in-law's every need. The staff have also been great in offering FaceTime calls so we can see my mother-in-law regular. I would absolutely recommend Westview Lodge!

Following an accident, my father was given emergency accommodation at West View during the height of the Pandemic. The manager and her team could not have done anything more to make my father feel so welcome and supported. Their very genuine care, all carried out with warmth and good humour has brought Dad back from an exceptionally traumatic time, and four months later, he’s feeling very safe, secure and happy. I can’t thank everyone at West View enough.

I come here often to visit my Mam. The care home is always clean. The staff and management are lovely, caring, happy people. I know my Mam's happy here and gets on well with everybody. Would recommend 10/10.
