Review from Michael W (Son of Resident) published on 15 May 2019 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The staff were supportive and sympathetic and the meals were excellent. As my father was accepted for respite on short notice he was given a very small room and I think an extra chair to two would have made it better for visitors. I was also expecting my father to be taken outside for daily exercise and fresh air. Apart from this, I felt that my dad was taken good care of.

Reply from Fae Doherty, Senior Marketing Officer at Dalby Court Residential Care Home

Dear Michael, thank you for your feedback, our team really appreciate it and use it to ensure we provide the very best care possible. Our residents do have easy access to the beautiful secure garden, however due to mobility needs I know it isn't as easy for all of our residents to make use of. I will make sure I pass all of this onto the manager and the team. Best wishes, Fae

Very relaxed atmosphere. My husband can lie in bed in the mornings, which suits him very well.
I do not see much of the carers but have found reception staff very helpful in answering my questions.

My husband's memory is so bad, he is unable to remember what activities he has taken part in, but I would like him to be encouraged to take part in all activities.

Dear Doreen, thank you very much for your kind words. I will be sure to pass your feedback onto Diane and the team, do know that the manager's door is open for you any time you have a question or query, no matter how big or small. Best wishes.

Review from E R (Respite Resident) published on 28 March 2019 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I had a lovely welcome when I arrived from the staff. I soon was welcomed by the residents. I could at last move around as I wanted to. One drawback, the weather, so I could not get out. I enjoyed the meals and actually put on some of the weight I had lost. I enjoyed the sitting yoga and the ones to music. I got to visit one of the art galleries so I say yes, this is a nice place to be.

Review from Peter H (Nephew of Resident) published on 11 February 2019 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
I can't praise the care staff enough. They are very caring and they look after the individual resident's needs. The residents are kept clean and tidy and the laundry staff are exceptionally good. The management team, senior carers, assistant manager and manager are all very experienced people and know exactly what they are doing. There have been a couple of minor queries over the last 2 1/4 years but each time they have been resolved instantly.

Try as I might I can't think of anything negative to say about Dalby Court.

The care given by the home is very good. They have looked after my Mother in Law in the best way they can, given her stage of dementia, which has been difficult. They can sometimes be very busy and on occasion, her bed could have been made more comfortable, but we do appreciate the carers were very busy at the time.

My biggest issue with the home is the food. I don't think that there is enough fruit and vegetables. We have lost some clothes.

The staff are wonderful, helpful and caring. I am overall happy with the home. My mams room is lovely.

I was very upset when I had to come into a care home.
There is nothing like your own home.
But now I feel like the staff are like my friends.
Also, they care for me when I am ill.

Someone I can rely on and go to anytime.

In general, the home is great and what makes it is the staff. They are brilliant and mum loves most of them. Sometimes the volume of staff is too low causing mum to only shower once a week which is not good. I visit regularly and have never seen poor treatment of any of the residents only sometimes slow treatment due to staffing. Entertainment member of staff is BRILLIANT.
