I have great respect for the caring team who combine their professional approach with compassion and good humour at all times. Even when residents may sometimes appear unappreciative their friendly demeanour does not alter, possibly the best compliment I can offer to this hard working team.

Overall Experience

My partner has been a resident in the above home for 16 months with various episodes of poor health due mainly to dementia progressing. The care is excellent, in every way from personal care to friendly approaches. The staff treat visitors in a friendly courteous manner offering refreshments and answering any questions we may have. Food and hygiene are excellent and rooms are kept clean, warm and can be bespoke to the residents requirements. I am extremely happy with the standard of care my partner has received since being a resident here.

Kath
Kath Job Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2016

Hello, my Name is Kath, and I have been the registered Manager at Wynyard Woods for 10 years. I have worked at Wynyard since the day we opened, almost two decades ago, and have enjoyed a variety of roles in that time.

I feel very strongly about the provision of excellent social care for the elderly and have worked hard to ensure that the care at Wynyard Woods is tailored to meet the wishes and expectations of our residents. The provision of a pleasant and contemporary environment where residents and their families can feel “at home” is of paramount importance to me. I have studied extensively and continue to do so to ensure my skills and knowledge are equal to the role I occupy.

I have a grown-up family and like to spend time with my grandchildren. I love to travel in my spare time and absolutely adore holidays in my spiritual home - the Greek Islands.

Donna
Donna Job Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2017

Hi, my name is Donna, and I am a Deputy Manager at Wynyard Woods Care Home. I joined the team here in 2017 as a Team Leader and worked hard to progress to the role of Deputy Manager. I hold a diploma in Health and Social Care and studied Psychology and Counselling at Teesside University. I love my role at Wynyard and work hard to provide coaching and support for the staff team, the residents and their families.

My role provides me with the opportunity to meet some interesting characters and to learn about some amazing life stories. I have three children and a grandson whom I adore. My husband and I enjoy camping trips and foreign holidays as a way to unwind in our free time.

Leanne
Leanne Job Title:AdministratorJoined: 2022

My name is Leanne, and I have been an administrator in the care industry for many years. Wynyard Woods is like my second family; I have worked here since January 2022.

I really enjoy the variety of tasks which make up my role. I love finding new entertainers and experiences for our residents and producing the activity calendar and the monthly newsletter for our residents and families to enjoy. I also like to get involved in the exercise and activities when I can; they are great fun.

I am extremely passionate about supporting people living in a residential setting and have a personal interest in dementia and Alzheimer’s care due to my own family member’s diagnosis. When I am not working, I love going on the motorbike, visiting nice places with my husband. I also love a good dance and singsong!
