My dad and mum are both looked after and safe. All the staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Croft Avenue Care Home is like one big family and I'm very happy my parents are being looked after so well.

Dad has only been at Croft Avenue for 2 weeks. In that time we can see he is being cared for by a team of dedicated carers who put the residents first. They have made him feel welcome in a calm, friendly, relaxed way. There is laughter, fun and above all a sense of humour, which dad has responded to
well. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit any requests we have are dealt with promptly and efficiently, nothing is too much bother! The food is very good, always plenty of choice. There is a good variety of activities available, we are so pleased to see dad is joining in. We as a family are extremely happy with the care dad is receiving. Thank you to all the staff at Croft Avenue.

My husband has been cared for at Croft Avenue Care Home for almost two years. The staff are amazing - always so very polite and so very respectful of the residents. Special mention to the receptionist who always welcomes us with a huge smile.

My mother's care is very good and she is very content. Her room is always clean and tidy and the staff are all very pleasant and welcoming. She enjoys the food and the many activities that the staff organise.

My grandmother has had a rough few years with illness and prolonged hospital stays, leading to us having to find residential care.
I can honestly say I had serious doubts about Croft Avenue, but a week in, she was thriving! She is spotlessly clean, entertained and well-fed, and it is heartwarming
to see the relationship she has with the staff!

Eating well each. At table with 2/4 people. Full meals, cup of tea and biscuits - each day.
Mostly brushing my own teeth.
Enjoys having visits from me and 2 brothers and local female with sister in Australia and family in South Scotland.
Walks herself around the home - up and down from own rooms
walking to and from meals and toilet.
Likes doing knitting in different colours.
Pleased with support and encouraging of staff.

Our first impressions of the home are of a light, airy, clean, comfortable home. The staff are all approachable, efficient, caring and fully aware of Mum's needs. Mum's initial anxiety was quickly eased and she frequently refers to the staff's kindness.

Prompt, professional action when my mother fell in her room on 20/10/23. I am always contacted by a senior member of staff when there are issues of concern regarding my mother. I find all members of staff very approachable, welcoming and informative.

Mum has been a resident at Croft Avenue Care Home for nearly a year now. She is very happy, really enjoys company and taking part in the many activities. she is always clean and tidy and in the main lounge area with other residents. The staff without exception are really friendly and helpful. My sister
and I are genuinely happy with all the care mum receives. She has Alzheimer's and was no longer safe in her own home.

I write this review as a visitor. The security was casual but safe. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Having rooms/areas available to chat with Mum, away from noise and other residents was perfect. I was happy in the knowledge that Mum could be left to sit in peace alone at times, with staff
close by to meet her needs if Mum so wished.

My auntie is being very well looked after; I cannot tell you how lucky she is to be looked after by so many amazing people. They are all so patient with her as she is so demanding, especially through the night. Everyone is so easy to talk to if we have any problems.

I am very pleased with the care and attention my mother receives in this care home. All the staff are very good with her and I know she is in safe hands here. The only complaint my mother has is the food, which isn't always to her liking but otherwise, she has nothing but praise for all the care staff.

My brother has made many new friends at Croft Avenue Care Home, both among the residents and the staff. He says every single member of the staff is great. I find the home a very caring and cheerful place and this is down to all the excellent staff. Thank you all.
I see the many activities in the newsletter
but my brother prefers not to join in. I wish he would but it is his choice and the home respects his wishes.

I am very happy with the care home, the staff go out of their way to please and Mum seems very content with her surroundings and says the food and care are very good. Mum's hearing is very poor but the staff are always willing to help with my phone calls which is very much appreciated.

All staff in the care home are very friendly and accommodating. We enjoy reading the newsletter and seeing what the residents have been doing. As a dedicated healthcare professional, Teresa brings a wealth of experience in providing high-quality care and nursing support to older people, enriching their lives and promoting their independence. A knowledgeable and compassionate leader, she is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.


Teresa works closely with her colleagues to ensure care is delivered in a way that brings the greatest benefit to each individual, within a warm, welcoming, and homely environment. She is also committed to building strong community links, arranging events and activities with local schools and clubs, and encouraging the involvement of the wider community in daily life at Croft Avenue.


In July 2025, under Teresa’s leadership, Croft Avenue Care Home was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and proudly achieved a ‘Good’ rating in all domains.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Teresa said:
“I just love to make a difference in people’s lives, no matter how big or small – it is such a fulfilling and heart-warming feeling.”


Outside of work, Teresa is a keen swimmer and enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family. She also operates an Open Door Policy and warmly invites you to visit Croft Avenue for an informal discussion about the home and the care it provides.
