Chilton Care Centre is in the former mining village of Chilton and the Mainsforth Collieries.

The purpose-built care centre specialises in residential and dementia care for older people.

There are 22 bedrooms upstairs and 18 bedrooms downstairs, each with the benefit of an en-suite shower room.

Chilton Care Centre organises regular activities enabling residents to pursue new and existing hobbies and maintain past times.

I would recommend this care home. The care staff are amazing, they are the best I have ever seen and had dealings with. I work in a care home and the staff in Chilton Care Centre are 100% better than anywhere I have seen. The management are helpful and nothing is a problem to them. Truly amazing.

Girls are efficient and friendly. They make the home as relaxed as they possibly can. Mam has everything she needs and is well looked after.

I feel forever grateful to Chilton Care Centre for the way they care for my nana. They are compassionate, understanding and brilliant at what they do. My nana thinks the world of so many of the girls now. Care work is exceptionally hard yet these angels do it with ease.
The manager is also fabulous,
keeping family in the loop when it comes to care, as well as genuinely caring about her residents and their experience.
Thank you to you all, from the carers to the chefs to the domestic staff- your hard work does not go unseen.

I simply cannot rate or recommend Chilton Care Centre highly enough. We have been going through one of the most difficult times and the manager and her team have supported us every step of the way and made us feel at ease. The support and care they provide are second to none and the facilities are excellent!
Would not hesitate to recommend Chilton to any family who is looking for a home from home for a loved one!

I find Chilton Care Centre to be exceptional in everything they do, the staff I believe are second to none, they always go out of their way when I visit they are always very friendly and accommodating always a cup of tea if I want one regardless of the time and a biscuit of course, there’s always plenty
of activities for the residents which I find keeps my mother occupied and she certainly enjoys whatever is on, she’s always up for a dance or song and they always get the residents involved in certain activities. I find the room, my mother is in to be nice and spacious her own en suite, my mother certainly likes it here which is certainly half the battle knowing we can leave her and she’ll be looked after. I will never rate any care home with 5 stars, that is not a negative as such but can’t believe all care homes can charge what they do, for the residency especially if you are a paying resident, it certainly doesn’t pay to do well for yourself in life.

Fantastic all-round care. Staff go above and beyond to ensure that service users are well looked after holistically, ensuring all needs are met. The staff treat the service users as their own family members and go above and beyond to make sure they feel safe and at home. Nothing is a problem. Staff

My mam has been in Chilton Care Centre nearly a year, she is receiving the best care ever, she adores all of the staff and they think the world of her, it was her 80th birthday in April. A surprise party was arranged by the staff at the home, it was a brill day, they couldn’t do enough for us all. It’s
very rare if ever, we have to address any issues. All the family are very pleased with the care and compassion our mam is receiving. We are grateful to the manager and all of her staff.

My wife has been a resident for just over two years, and the care she has received has been second to none. The staff carry out their duties in a most professional manner blended with a touch of humour that puts their charges at ease. Any problems or needs that my wife has are communicated to me immediately.

My mother has been a resident for a couple of years now, and I have to say that they go above and beyond in the care she receives. I also have had help with regards to questions on her care and know if I need anything at all that the staff are there for my mother as well as myself. Everyone who works

Excellent care service, staff always very helpful and treat my father as if they actually do care for him and he is not just a number, definitely making a bad period of life much better for Dad and for us. We have found that any queries/problems we have raised have always been addressed effectively.
The help Dad receives is second to none and meals are very good.

Mother was transferred to Chilton Care Centre after being diagnosed with dementia which seems to be progressing rapidly. Her care is exceptionally good. She is cared for as if she was family, as all the residents seem to be. The home is clean, light and bright and everyone seems very happy, residents
and staff. Mam was 90 today and the home provided a singer followed by a beautiful afternoon tea and following negative tests the family were given the use of a private room with afternoon tea and Mam's cake. The room had been decorated with balloons and bunting, it was really fabulous. Overall, all of my siblings are very content that Mam is being very well looked after.

My mother-in-law has been a resident in Chilton Care Home since mid-January 2021 and has settled in surprisingly and remarkably well. I can only put that down to the excellent care given to her by all of the staff. She is always treated with kindness and consideration which is quite an achievement as
my husband and myself know how difficult she is to deal with. Many thanks for all the hard work you put in to make her twilight years happy ones.

My Grandma was treated awfully in another home, was in three weeks and caught Covid and was taken into hospital for stitches on a cut on the head, eye, horrific injury. But, now in Chilton Care Centre and doing much better. All staff are amazing, like angels. I cannot fault it. The care, dignity and
treatment are brilliant. Well done all at the home.
