Church View is a fabulous home. From Mam being admitted for respite to now being a permanent resident, we could not have asked for anything more. Due to the compassion of staff and the management of the home, Mam now calls it 'her house'. If we take her out, she asks to return before the outing is over. She appears relaxed and comfortable at all times. There are always things going on for her to get involved in if she wishes. Thank you to everyone at Church View.

My family and I were trying to pick a suitable care home for my mam. We had previously visited a couple of care homes, but after viewing Church View with its facilities and after speaking to the staff, we instantly knew this was the one we wanted. My mam has now been in Church View for eight weeks, and I have to say she has settled in extremely quickly. She now calls Church View her new home, she absolutely loves it. This is mainly down to the staff who work there, they are all so friendly, caring and attentive. The décor and cleanliness of the home is extremely impressive also. There are always numerous activities and events that keep my mam occupied daily. I would highly recommend Church View Care Home to anyone considering picking a care home for their loved ones.

After viewing three care homes we found Church View in June 2022 for my Mam who had previously lived with us for nearly three years. I did struggle to cope with Mam's transition and I know Mam felt “lost” but over the last year Mam has blossomed once again, this I can honestly say is down to the attentiveness of the care team, from management, administration, care staff, daycare coordinator, hairdresser, handyman, housekeeping, catering and laundry staff, each one person of this whole dedicated team has played a vital part in bringing peace and joy back not only into my Mams life but mine.
Church View is tastefully decorated and I’m always greeted with a hello from someone. Church View offer an excellent range of day activities and Mam is given a weekly planner. Church View is so dog friendly, I love that we can take our Labrador in to see Mam. I would highly recommend Church View for the care and support they have and are still providing for my Mam.

Thank you Church View!

My aunt was in this care home since June 2022 and sadly died In November. We can’t thank the carers enough for how well they cared for my Aunt. They are very special people. Also, the management, receptionist, cleaners, kitchen staff, caretaker and activities coordinator were all so kind and made us feel welcome.
The home is spotless and has a lovely calm environment.

We would highly recommend Church View Care Home.

Highly recommend this care home. After looking around a few others, I knew this was the one for Mam as soon as we stepped through the door. Beautiful decor, super clean, fantastic, friendly and caring staff. My mam is happy and content, as am I knowing she is being well looked after. Can't fault this care home at all.

My husband was a resident for ten months until his passing on 29 August 2022. My husband received the best care at Church View Care Home at a time when I could no longer care for him myself and I will be forever grateful to all the staff for that. The staff work extremely hard and clearly care deeply for all the residents.

There is always a warm welcome from everyone at Church View - with a smile and a friendly word. All staff are very approachable and nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
Church View is a pleasant and homely environment with a lovely calm and relaxed feel - you can see time and care is taken to keep it clean and well maintained. Dad's room is perfect - a cosy home from home where he feels very comfortable.
We are so reassured and impressed with the high quality of care Dad receives from the Church View team. The hard work and dedication of each team member shines through and their professional approach always feels so personal through their caring, thoughtful and friendly ways. The day-to-day standards and procedures of care are very thorough - and staff have also been proactive in accessing support from other agencies to ensure Dad's needs are fully met.

It's a real treat to see Dad so settled and happy in his surroundings and the lovely relationships he has with the staff - it's more than we could have hoped for. Thank you to the wonderful Church View team!

I am so thankful to all the wonderful staff at Church View Care Home who play an important part in taking care of my father, I know my father is looked after by friendly, caring staff who go above and beyond to help make day to day life normal, they are patient and know my dad well, knowing his needs and making it personal. He is treated with care and dignity at all times. They keep me informed at every level giving me the confidence to know my dad is happy and cared for by the excellent staff. I can never thank them enough for all their care and support they give my father and myself, they are all a credit to Church View.

I have always found the staff helpful and respectful. Management are very professional. Recently my mum needed to be moved into the dementia wing, both deputy manager and manager made this a smooth transition and showed compassion for both Mum and myself as I was very concerned at first but now know she has settled well in her new room and surroundings. Covid has been very challenging for all and lockdown/limited visits have been upsetting. However, Church View Care Home staff have gone the extra mile to make required adjustments. I feel the home is very well run and the whole staff team work well together.

Despite the care staff having to work in exceptional circumstances during a pandemic, the care and attention given to the residents in Church View are outstanding. The contact between staff and family was maintained at all times. Keeping us informed of every detail.

The personal care, diet and surroundings were excellent. When visiting was permitted it was carried out in a professional and sympathetic way, allowing privacy when needed.

My aunt lived in Church View Home for almost 4 years and was very happy and well looked after in all that time. Towards the end of her life, the staff went the extra mile to make sure they catered for her special needs and treated her with dignity and respect. Communication with myself and Church View was excellent and I was kept well informed about what was going on. Thank you to all the staff.

My father became a resident at Church View in December 2020 as such I am unable to comment on anything inside the home as I have never been inside. I can, however, say that without exception of all the staff have been excellent. They are always friendly and happy to help with the supply of information or help with any suggestions I have for dad. In a very difficult time for them, I have nothing but praise.

My mam received care that was extremely good over the four years she was a resident of Church View. After several hospital stays where we thought she wouldn't survive they nursed her back to health. What more can you want from a care home. Being a rather challenging lady, my mum was always treated with respect and dignity. Her end of life care was very caring and sympathetic.

Margaret Lugg
Margaret LuggJob Title:Team LeaderJoined: 2008

At the age of 16 years old, I trained with Age UK for many years and worked in other residential homes until Church View opened its doors on my own doorstep. I have worked as a carer all my life. Since the Church View senior, to senior and eventually team leader. Upon reflection, I have been part of the Church View family for around 20 years, and this has become like a second home to me.

In the past month, I have just completed my safe handling medications level 4 with Distinction, and in the past, during my career journey, my NVQ 1,2 and 3, alongside dementia training, Golden Gateway and end of life training. I have developed a passion for the end-of-life sector, which I utilise in everyday work life.

I am a mother of three children and a nanna to eleven; my family is my world, and they are what keep me grounded.

Jenny Barker
Jenny BarkerJob Title:Team LeaderJoined: 2025

I have only been working in the care sector for a short time, coming from a marketing and business management background and graduating from university with both a BA(Hons) and MSc degrees. When I first came to Church View for my interview, I knew in that moment that care was what I wanted to do, as I grew up as a young carer, and it made me miss the caring aspect and the practical side.

When stepping into this home and working as a care assistant, it felt like an extension of my family, enabling me to develop lasting relationships with the residents and the staff. It really has become a home away from home.

When looking back at when I was working in management and marketing, it made me reflect on progressing further within the home. The obvious next step for me was stepping into a senior role and advancing that way. Whilst in the senior role, I began working towards my NVQ Level 3, and this carried over once the team leader role became available, since advancing I have obtained a Distinction in my NVQ and learnt a wealth of knowledge in the role.

In my spare time, when I can, I try to go back to Manchester to spend time with my family, alongside being at home with by husband or reading in my own little home library.
