Where do I start! Having worked in homes myself to having a dear family member in one, two completely different experiences.
My father came to Langley house in May 2025 with Mixed Dementia, he wasn't too happy about the situation but it was for the best.
He hit it off with all the staff immediately, they took him under their wing, sat him with like minded men to chat with, and did their upmost to help him mingle with everyone. He went on day trips out with them and on any themed days I got to come and sit with dad and the other service users and watch the entertainment too.
Unfortunately my dad became unwell whilst there, the staff were amazing , worth their weight in gold! They called me on every incident involving my father, be it a Nurse visit to a fall .
My dad asked to be made permanent, His care turned to Nursing, palliative. He said he felt cared for , the girls very lovely to him and he felt safe. They treat my dad with respect as if he was their own family,this meant so much
