Dad has settled into Langley House very well and I'm sure that it's down to the wonderful care of the staff. There is always lots of activities going on and lots of encouragement to join in. My father was admitted to Langley from hosptial where he had deteriorated both physically and mentally. The staff were welcoming, professional, and so very kind both to myself and my father. Due to their excellent care, my father has returned to his usual self. The staff at Langley, led by a brilliant
manager, Joanne, are without exception wonderful. They have really made an effort to get to know my father and handle his dementia with sensitivity. Langley House is how care homes should be (in my professional capacity as a GP in Yorkshire, I have visited many, and I couldn't have chosen a better place for my father)

My mam moved to Langley House in February 2026. I've seen such a positive change in mam's overall behaviour. She is once again her happy, funny and bubbly self. Mam settled in straight away and is so content. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. The entertainment is brilliant, there's always something
going on. I knew it was the right home for my mam as it's such a lovely atmosphere. Both managers Joanne and Kirsty have been very supportive to both mam and me. 100% highly recommend Langley House Care Home.

My Mother has been under the care of Langley House for some 5 yrs. I must say first of all we live 25min away from this home. As one of the only places willing to take her nearing the end of the pandemic. We made the decision to keep her there after the pandemic ended as a perminant resident purley
down to the care she received from the Manager & her team. I cannot praise these girls highly enough My mam had a stroke sadly which then paralysed her down one side which effected her speech meaning she was unable to communicate with us. The girls were amazing so kind, supportive and genuinly care. JUNE 2025 my step Dad joined my mam volantarily as he now has Alzeiymers also. Since being in Langley he has found a new lease of life and his cheeky personality has returned he has settled in so well which gives us as a family peace of mind knowing they are both being well looked after. I cannot recommend the place more highly and trust all the girls 100% Thank you

Where do I start! Having worked in homes myself to having a dear family member in one, two completely different experiences.
My father came to Langley house in May 2025 with Mixed Dementia, he wasn't too happy about the situation but it was for the best.
He hit it off with all the staff immediately,
they took him under their wing, sat him with like minded men to chat with, and did their upmost to help him mingle with everyone. He went on day trips out with them and on any themed days I got to come and sit with dad and the other service users and watch the entertainment too.
Unfortunately my dad became unwell whilst there, the staff were amazing , worth their weight in gold! They called me on every incident involving my father, be it a Nurse visit to a fall .
My dad asked to be made permanent, His care turned to Nursing, palliative. He said he felt cared for , the girls very lovely to him and he felt safe. They treat my dad with respect as if he was their own family, this meant so much

  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Langley House Care Home is based on 60 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 60 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Home Manager Joined: 2022

I have worked in the care sector since the age of 18. I completed a Health and Social Care course in sixth form and completed a 6-week placement in a care home, and from then I knew working in care was what I wanted to do. I started as a Care Assistant and progressed to Senior Care then Deputy Manager then Manager. I have completed my GNVQ in Health and Social Care, I have my NVQ levels 2, 3, 4 and 5. I started for Ascot Care in 2007 as Senior Carer then Deputy Manager in 2009 till I progressed to Home Manager of Langley House in 2022.

During my 2 years at Langley House, we have gone from “requires improvement” to “Good” in all areas, and we are the first home in the North East to be a Veteran Friendly Accredited Home, which is an achievement.

I have worked at Langley House since 2010. I started as a Kitchen Assistant and worked my way up to Carer, Senior Carer and now Deputy Manager. I have my NVQ level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and I have my NVQ in Team Leading. When I started as a Kitchen Assistant it was lovely working with the elderly and made me want to progress in the care side, which I have loved over the past 14 years. We are the first home in the North East to be a Veteran Friendly Accredited Home, which is an achievement. I take a great interest in this as I have family in the service, and it has been very rewarding to complete this accreditation.
