An update now allowed to visit continuously. The surroundings are always clean and welcoming, as with every care home the most important assets are the staff. Cheerful caring staff are a must as it’s them that provide the care to residents. After several visits I am unable to write any negative comments. Thanks to Manager and first class carers.

My mum has recently become a resident at Langley House after we moved her from another care home and we and my mum are really happy with the home. It's a lovely bright welcoming place to be and all the staff, even the cleaning staff are all lovely and helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble. My mum can sometimes be a handful as she has dementia and staff and staff are all really patient and supportive with her. They have activities every day for the residents to enjoy. It's a huge improvement on her last home and would recommend anyone to go and have a look around.

My dad has been in Langley House since February 9th this year. The care that has been afforded to him has been extremely good. During that time, he was admitted to the hospital and the difference in the care has been like day and night. Our family cannot thank the staff enough. My dad seems settled and even though he can be challenging at times, when he is in pain or does not understand what is happening, the staff are really patient.

My mother-in-law has been a resident of Langely House for several years. After discussing a few issues with the manager they were resolved immediately. The manager and staff are very polite and understanding and most caring.

As a family, we were 'forced' to place dad into a care home. Langley House is local and employs lots of local men and women which helps greatly as there are shared family histories so dad 'knows' some of the carers. The staff are friendly and work hard for all the residents. They listen to our concerns and always respond sympathetically. The thought of dad being in care was always unbearable but Langley House has been a godsend.

My mam has been at Langley House since January. The staff at the home have been amazing with my mam who has Alzheimer's. I know Mam is safe and is looked after, the staff are so lovely with her and know how to handle her tantrums and get her to join in activities which we could not get her to do. She has made friends which is very comforting. Nothing is a problem we can ring any time to check how mam is, go in and visit, take mam out. She has a lovely room and the staff really seems to care for all the residents. They have sorted new spectacles when she brakes hers, they constantly change her hearing aid battery to ensure mam can hear. All staff are so friendly and will help however they can, have a chat with you, try to help us when we are struggling with mam if she is getting agitated in any way they are truly wonderful. Langley House is a lovely care home and has an amazing team who all deserve medals for the jobs they do. Thank you for looking after my mam, to all of you.

Staff are very welcoming to visitors. It's been difficult to see relatives much because of the virus. I think things have improved a lot. The group seem to be more understanding to relatives and have the best interest of residents. The staff listen more to the family of residents and help more. I think more pleasant atmosphere when visiting.

As we have not been allowed in the home much due to covid I cannot really give a detailed review. My sister is looking well and the staff are polite and friendly. One difference I have noticed are her clothes are laundered a lot better and put away properly, used to get other people's clothes put in her wardrobe. Overall the home seems to be improving.

Since Ascot Care took over the home, I have noticed quite a difference in standards (for the better). Also, I receive more communication from the manager than I did before. Don't get me wrong, we have still had some issues, but I can honestly say that they were dealt with swiftly and with the utmost, professional care.

My dad has been a resident for nearly twenty months now, and I can state he has been very happy living there. Sometimes, during the first phase of Covid-19, things were awkward, but the staff from manager to carers, did everything they could to help. The nurses treat my dad with friendliness, great care and dignity, and when he's been unwell, they were great with him. Thank you, Langley House.

I was never a fan of care homes due to a bad experience with my grandma a few years ago, so having got to the point that my dad needed to go into care I was very apprehensive, however, it has been the best decision we have made as a family. My dad absolutely loves it at Langley House which makes it so much easier for us as we don't have to worry. He is very well looked after and I am able to sleep well at night knowing he is in very capable hands. I can't thank them enough.

I have worked in the care sector since the age of 18. I completed a Health and Social Care course in sixth form and completed a 6-week placement in a care home, and from then I knew working in care was what I wanted to do. I started as a Care Assistant and progressed to Senior Care then Deputy Manager then Manager. I have completed my GNVQ in Health and Social Care, I have my NVQ levels 2, 3, 4 and 5. I started for Ascot Care in 2007 as Senior Carer then Deputy Manager in 2009 till I progressed to Home Manager of Langley House in 2022.

During my 2 years at Langley House, we have gone from “requires improvement” to “Good” in all areas, and we are the first home in the North East to be a Veteran Friendly Accredited Home, which is an achievement.

I have worked at Langley House since 2010. I started as a Kitchen Assistant and worked my way up to Carer, Senior Carer and now Deputy Manager. I have my NVQ level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and I have my NVQ in Team Leading. When I started as a Kitchen Assistant it was lovely working with the elderly and made me want to progress in the care side, which I have loved over the past 14 years. We are the first home in the North East to be a Veteran Friendly Accredited Home, which is an achievement. I take a great interest in this as I have family in the service, and it has been very rewarding to complete this accreditation.
