Excellent care home, I absolutely love this place, and would happily recommend it to anyone.

My Dad is so well looked after! Big shout out to "Jen & Becky" senior carers on middle floor, they go above and beyond, ringing me always to keep me up to date with his care.

Following the passing of my close friend on North Park's dementia ward, some cash kept for haircuts etc vanished from her room. When I escalated this theft, the Regional Director responded with extreme hostility. She refused to investigate staff, stating they are all DBS checked, and defensively asked why I suspected them. When I noted my friend was in her room 24/7 and would have known if someone had taken it, the Director said it could have been a residents family member entering her room when she was asleep!! I countered that unmonitored visitors entering rooms of sleeping residents and stealing money is a severe institutional safeguarding failure, to which she openly asked "why?". She could not comprehend how a security breach on a secure unit constitutes a safeguarding issue at all. My informal complaints and formal complaints to the home have simply brushed me aside, and this terrifying lack of safeguarding knowledge has forced me to forward the full file to the CQC.

My family cannot fault the care support and love that North Park Care Home have provided for my dad over the last 18 months.
Every aspect of care was provided from Dad first coming to North Par until the day he passed away at North Park.
The staff (all the staff) are second to none and are fantastic ambassadors for Barchester Care Homes.

(Particularly Becky, Louise, Sandu, Devon, Andrew) x.

My nanna come to North park care home in June 2025 .
It was a hard and emotional time for the whole family as it was her first time in a care home.
From the moment of stepping into north park we all felt so welcomed and this made my family feel at ease.
The love and care my nanna received from each and every member of staff was outstanding.
I can not thank the staff enough for the thought, consideration, dignity and respect that my nan was shown during her time in the home, especially in her last days..
They are dedicated team and show compassion within all of there job roles.

My nanna recently passed away the love and support we all recieved was so comforting.

I moved my wife to North Park Care Home, from another home, after a couple of incidents. The difference was astonishing. The atmosphere is very calm, staff are very concerned about the welfare of the residents. It is very clean both in the rooms and open areas. She has regained weight that was lost over the previous 7 months and with the encouragement of staff has become very social again. The management and staff may not realise the difference the care they offer residents at North Park makes to the lives of the people that live there - it is beyond commendable.

My aunty came to North Park Aug 2025, it was very upsetting for the whole family - staff we very good at helping her settle in & were v. reassuring to us as a family. Life on the top floor (high/advanced dementia) was not great as my aunty isn't so advanced & management moved her down a floor quite quickly - she's settled much more now.

Staff are lovely & caring & management are very approachable, food always looks great & there's some great activities on offer.

My mum moved into a care home in April 2023. She passed away in October 2024. After a few weeks of getting used to it, she settled in and loved all the activities they offered. She even went to the theatre and sang in the lounge, which she especially enjoyed. The care she received from the friendly staff was top-notch. She even made a few friends. The food was delicious but she might have eaten a little too much. I highly recommend this care home.

My sister was a resident at Barchester North Park Care Home for over three years. I am pleased to say she was very happy there. She loved the carers and had lots of time chatting to them. She was proud to call the place home and it pleased me how happy she was there.

This care home may be adequate if your needs are minimal and you are relatively independent. In the event you require extra care such as being bed bound, need bed rails, pressure area care, regular comfort checks, appropriate analgesia and a working television, then please choose elsewhere. Staff are friendly but the care was inadequate and unsafe at times. Food was probably the best aspect of the stay, well done to the cooks.

My mum has been a resident since April 2022 until her death recently; prior to that she had had several periods of respite care at the home. I always felt that she was safe and well looked after. All the staff were very kind to her, in particular the OT/activities staff who made every effort to encourage her to join group activities when she was well enough. The home is maintained well, always tidy and never has any odours. The staff are extremely welcoming to visitors and they organise regular fundraising events that involve friends and family. In short - I am very happy and grateful that my mum was able to stay at North Park Care Home.

Mum spent the last few weeks of her life being looked after and cared for at Barchester North Park Care Home. She went in initially for two weeks respite but after the first week, she decided to stay permanently. She was well looked after by all the staff and especially enjoyed the food, gaining 10lbs in the short time she was a resident.

The first time we looked around the home, we knew straight away that it was the place where we wanted Dad to be cared for. The home always has a happy, welcoming feel and the staff are super friendly and caring. I have been to many of the social get-togethers and the way that the staff look after their residents gives me comfort to know that Dad is cared for by these special people. Would not want him anywhere else!
