The care given to my friend by Heatherdale was exemplary during his two-year spell until he sadly passed away. Heatherdale is well managed with compassion and consideration. Every member of staff without exception was caring and professional to both their residents and visitors. Well done and thanks to all at Heatherdale.

My mam has been a resident at Heatherdale for around three months now and I cannot praise the staff enough. They have developed a wonderful culture of genuine care and compassion which filters into every aspect of the residents' lives. They have worked very closely with me to understand my mam's needs which can be quite complex at times. My mam really enjoys living there and is always entertained with the many activities that the team works so hard at. This is an amazing place and anyone would be lucky to be placed here.

If you are looking for a care home for a loved one then look no further than Heatherdale. My mother has been a resident since April and her behaviour (due to dementia and a brain injury) has made her challenging, to say the least. Their determination to keep her calm and settled is extraordinary and I cannot thank them enough for keeping my mum safe. Every member of staff always has a smile and the food and rooms are excellent. I feel very lucky to have found Heatherdale.

Mam moved into Heatherdale after a fall left her with a broken ankle, needing help to get around. At 88 mam was very nervous about going into respite care but the staff were lovely and friendly and put her at ease, which helped her to settle in with the minimum of fuss and stress to herself and her family, she is now getting all the help she needs. A big thank you to all the staff.

My aunt is in the mid stages of Alzheimer's. When it was no longer possible to care for her at home we looked for somewhere she would be happy and safe. She is now settling in well, making friends with other residents, having her hair and nails done regularly and joining in the many activities and outings that Heatherdale offers. She loves her garden room and the garden itself of course and has commented on how good the food is! A definite plus from my aunt.

The staff are fantastic, respecting her dignity at all times, helping her maintain her independence where possible, and generally encouraging and supporting her in what is, of course, a difficult transition for anyone to make. Heatherdale came highly recommended by professionals caring for my aunt and by people we know who have had relatives as residents here. I would not hesitate to recommend the service in turn to anyone looking for a really excellent placement for their loved one.

Hi Julie, thank you for sharing your lovely experience with our home! We are so glad to hear your aunt is having a fabulous time with us, and enjoying every aspect of Heatherdale - from the food to the activities to the care itself. Overall Experience
My mother had lived for 92 years independently because of her growing frailty and dementia the time came to seek a care home for her.
The staff at Heatherdale have helped so much in making that transition as smooth as possible. They are caring and thoughtful and have good routines and procedures in place to support my mother who now, after only a few months looks much more healthier and cared for than she did when she was living on her own.
It has been so difficult for her after the last two and a half years of Covid but she is now getting her hair done when the hairdresser calls, enjoying teas in the beautiful garden, regular baths, regular meals in the dining room and help getting dressed and undressed and she looks so much better for it.

Thank you staff at Heatherdale.

My mother has lived at Heatherdale for 18 months. Throughout that time she has been very well cared for, in every aspect, in a kind and understanding way to try and ease her anxieties which have come with dementia. The staff respect her dignity at all times whilst letting her maintain her independence as much as possible. Whenever she has needed medical attention they have been prompt to engage the GP and other professionals and have taken her for hospital treatment as well.
The team are always friendly and cheerful and work hard to make Heatherdale a homely and happy place for everyone. There is a varied programme of activities for all to enjoy if they wish. Throughout the year special days and occasions are celebrated and birthdays are never forgotten.

The family are very impressed with the dedication of all who work at the home and can’t thank them enough for the care and support they give.

My mother stayed for respite before Christmas last year, she suffered from dementia which could be challenging but the staff were great with her. She helped decorate the Christmas tree, we saw some lovely pictures of her doing this and that’s exactly what mam needed to take her mind off things that gave her stress. I follow Heatherdale online because I love to see all the activities they do with the residents and to me, they always look so happy, it is a great care home.

Heatherdale care home is a beautiful, cosy and has a very high standard of cleanliness, excellent food and care. The staff are wonderful, very caring and supportive. I am very happy and have peace of mind that my parents are very well looked after by the team. There is always lots of activities going on in the home e.g Tia chi, bingo, crafts, karaoke, baking, birthday parties for the residents and days out visiting the coastline. When I visit my mam she always says "I love being here it is like just being at home and being able to visit her husband who lives at the other end of the home when I want". With my mam having Alzheimer's dementia she was unable to look after him at her home. The staff are fantastic, when she is having a bad day the team will always care and support her and make her laugh which really cheers her up. A huge congratulations to the manageress To the manager, you should be so very proud of your amazing team of staff at Heatherdale.

Our mum was a resident of Heatherdale for over two years, an environment that she said she would never like to be in. But arriving at Heatherdale she quickly adapted and had so much praise for the care home. The rooms are a good size and very clean, the staff are very helpful and at times go out of their way to help you. Over the years my mum enjoyed every little bit of it, she liked the friendly atmosphere and the jam-packed activities programme which goes on every day. Speaking with my friends and family seeing what goes on daily makes us laugh when seeing the Facebook page. I cannot fault the staff they are all amazing. The gardens are beautiful and well kept a place to meet and reflect. I would like to thank all staff for helping our family through a difficult time during and after Mum's last week of her life at Heatherdale. (A home from home). Thank you.

The family are very grateful to all the wonderful staff at Heatherdale who seem extremely dedicated to their jobs. We are all coping with massive changes in our lives during these difficult times of COVID and, more so, the staff working in care homes. It is very reassuring to know the staff at Heatherdale in the face of adversity are always lively and cheerful. When you ring and hear a friendly voice at the end of the phone, it is very reassuring. When it was possible to visit, briefly in the new pod, or if you dropped something off, you are always greeted with lots of smiles, and this speaks volumes when it is not possible to go inside. Our Mams clothes are beautifully laundered, and this makes you feel the standards are high in all they do. We wish things were different, as everyone does so that we could visit our Mum in the care home but know they have everyone’s interest at heart to keep all the residents and staff safe and are doing an outstanding job.

Mum was admitted to Heatherdale in April as her health (Alzheimer’s) deteriorated in lockdown. The manager and her team found a way to admit Mum safely and have since worked extremely hard and very effectively in helping her to settle in. The kindness and attention to Mum’s individual needs has been very evident from day one. She is physically very well cared for: hair done even though the hairdresser can’t visit at the moment, nails done, nicely dressed in clean (spills are frequent) and beautifully ironed clothes. Tasks have been created for her to help Mum feel useful. These have been carefully planned to reflect Mum’s past interests and hobbies. Mum enjoys the group activities on offer and this is all communicated through photos on the home’s Facebook page. Of course, I’m looking forward to being able to visit properly and to get to know Heatherdale, it’s residents and staff much better but I will never forget how they have made Mum safe and secure in lockdown. Highly recommended.
