During the lockdown period, the staff of this care home have been excellent in contacting me and keeping me updated with photos and a lovely card with my husband's photo on it. The visit today has been very rewarding for us to see him in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the lovely garden.

When my mam was living at the home and deteriorating with her dementia the whole family were under extreme stress and worry. My mam is always underweight and we tried everything we could to make sure she had her meals and maintained her weight with help from all professionals. We couldn't cope and now
she is happy, eating and gaining weight. The pressure is off the family.

Many thanks to all the wonderful caring staff at Woodhorn Park who are going above and beyond to look after my Mam (and all the residents) at this difficult time.
The support, updates, and reassurance they have given us when we have been unable to visit are much appreciated by the family and we will

My Dad has been a resident at Woodhorn Park since February 2019. I have nothing but praise for this lovely, caring and supportive home. My Dad has stayed in several homes for respite over the last few years, including some very costly ones, but this home knocks the socks off all of them all. The main
difference is the staff, they really do care! They got to know and understand my Dad very quickly. They know what he likes and what he doesn’t and will always try to accommodate him. He loves them and knows he can ask for help or even a chat at any time. We regularly hear or observe the staff helping other residents when they are unaware we are there, they show nothing but respect and kindness to everyone. The care, guidance and support they have offered my Mam and I has been exceptional and we are truly grateful to them.
The home is very clean, in fact always being cleaned when I visit. The food is all freshly cooked from fresh ingredients and always plentiful. Overall a great home.

My Mother has been a resident at Woodhorn Park Care Home, Ashington since Sept 21 2018. My brother and I visited nine homes in our area, and there was only one we unanimously agreed would be a good fit for our Mother: Woodhorn Park. I visit three times a week and I watch and I listen. I’m incredibly
impressed with the quality of care. Their dementia expertise, kindness and respectfulness are a pleasure to observe. Meals are prepared fresh by a chef - not processed/microwaved. The home is typically immaculate and well-maintained. There’s even a hair salon. There are lots of activities too including holiday celebrations (Remembrance Day window displays prepared by a member of staff, were a real tribute to residents), musicians, arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, and tea dances. Any (minor) issues are addressed through our wonderful care manager. If you are looking at care homes, I recommend you do your research - then come to Woodhorn Park to see the difference.

The staff at Woodhorn Park have made my mothers stay an easy transition from hospital to the care home.
I have found all the staff very approachable, friendly and caring but also very professional in the job they are doing.
I have never had any worries or concerns whilst my mother has been here as
I know she is safe and well looked after. I would have no hesitation in recommending Woodhorn Park Care Home to others.

My aim is to ensure residents, staff, families and visitors all feel they are in a caring, welcoming environment and being supported by every member of our team.


I began my career as a Home Administrator then progressed to Commercial manager within Woodhorn Park and have gained experience and qualifications to progress to my current role. Barchester has a high standard of care and a superior lifestyle delivered throughout the company, and I endeavour to deliver those same values in our home. I always enjoy spending time with residents and their families and am always available for a chat about our home, staff, services and most importantly, our residents.
