This picture of perfection may be the case if the resident doesn't have behavioural issues, for which EMI care homes are supposed to be experienced and trained in. The staff here are not at all. Favouritism with certain residents in decision-making is apparent.
My father was exited from the home in a panicked fashion to A&E a week before this inspection where he deteriorated hugely, after a number of weeks of a very badly handled situation. Second resident in a matter of months. Is this what it takes to paint the picture of perfection.
Again, We are sorry we could no longer meet your father's needs.
From what I saw on visiting I can't say I was at all impressed. Residents were left alone and some who couldn't stand trying to stand and falling, left for far too long, not being checked for over an hour. I understand homes are struggling for staff but this is not a safe environment
Again, We apologise for not being able to meet your dads needs.
Unfortunately my experience of this home is not good. I would not recommend this home to anyone. How they get funded for EMI is beyond me as they cannot deal with basic EMI needs. Unless your relative sits still and doesn't move this is not the place for them.
We are sorry we could no longer meet your dad's needs.
This is a fantastic care home. The staff are friendly and caring. They build warm, positive relationships with residents based on trust. They go above and beyond to meet residents' needs and wishes. Residents are all treated with respect. My mum feels safe and secure there and feels like it is her home. There is a good range of activities for residents. It is spotlessly clean and the rooms are decorated to a good standard. They have big grounds with lots of squirrels and birds to watch and there is a secure garden for residents. Mum has been very happy here and has nothing but good things to say about the place.
Thank you for your review, we really appreciate your kind words.
My late father was a resident at Bryn Edwin Hall Residential & EMI Care Home. He resided there for five months and they became his second home. All staff were professional, helpful and friendly and Dad loved them all. During his final days, the staff could not be more helpful and supportive and made a very difficult and emotional time easier. We cannot praise them enough as a family.
I felt that the staff treated my dad as a member of their family and he was happy whenever I saw him.
Brilliant home.
The care my father receives as a resident for the past eight months has been excellent. His personal needs seem to have been looked after. The house is a home although not the most modern and posh looking, they seem to have their residents as their primary focus and the residents' needs. Always a warm and friendly welcome by staff every time I go to visit my father.
Thank you for your review. it is greatly appreciated.
My husband has just begun day care. However, I am very pleased so far with all aspects of my husband's care.
Thank you for your review, it is greatly appreciated.
The care and compassion shown to my mum and myself was outstanding! I can never thank them enough for making us feel safe. Wonderful, wonderful people.
Thank you for your review. You and your mum were an extended part of our family here at Bryn Edwin.
Always warm and welcoming. Staff are always ready to discuss my wife's needs and maintain a high standard of care, delivered cheerfully and with a strong sense of wanting to keep my wife comfortable and stimulated. The premises are always clean and fresh.
Thank you for leaving the review. We appreciate your kind comments.
We are very happy with the level of care that Mum receives at Bryn Edwin. The food is good, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Her room is kept clean and tidy. There are plenty of activities going on, although Mum prefers her own company. She is never pushed into anything she doesn't want to do. When asked if she is happy there, she always comes back with a resounding, yes.
Thank you for your review. Your kind words are greatly appreciated.
My husband has been in Bryn Edwin Hall Residential & EMI Care Home for 9 months. I have found the experience for myself very good. Staff are very friendly and caring, and you are always made to feel welcome when you visit. My husband seems very content with his care and surrounding. He loves the staff and gets on very well with them.
Thank you for submitting your review; it is greatly appreciated.
It is reassuring and comforting to know that mum is in such competent and caring hands!
Thank you so much for the review, greatly appreciated.
My mother came to Bryn Edwin Hall in late August 2021 and she appears to be reasonably happy. She always looks clean and tidy, her hair is always combed and she says the staff are lovely and she really enjoys the food. My mother said she couldn't fault the place at all. She can have some of her personal things around her and I will also be taking her own riser recliner chair there for her. Whenever I visit all the staff are always friendly, cheerful and explain everything to you. I really like the Portal which I can go onto daily just to see what my mother has been up to throughout the day.
Thank you so much for your review. Greatly appreciated.
We have an old friend who is a resident in Bryn Edwin Hall Residential & EMI Care Home, myself and wife worked with her for many years. We recently visited her and was made very welcome by all the staff that were there. There was an activity going on at the time and my wife had a sing song with the residents. The lady we visited appeared to be well cared for and very happy. Admittedly we had not visited for a while but we were very pleased with how she was cared for.
I have total trust in all at Bryn Edwin Hall and I would recommend the home to anyone.
I cannot commend too highly the care my mother received during her final days, it is something for which I will always be grateful.
As a final note, I have recently seen on Facebook, the strides Bryn Edwin has made in giving people with Alzheimer's/dementia the respect they deserve. Well done with your new initiatives.
At Bryn it is very much a team effort all working together for the benefit of the residents . A very supportive manager a very enthusiastic events manager and a team of carers who put 100% into their work. Every member of Bryn staff play an important role everyone is involved in providing wonderful care for the residents .
Bryn Edwin is a lovely 200 year old country house. The staff are friendly and welcoming. My 90 year old mother asked for a lot of reassurance when she first moved in and the staff gave her the time and attention which I felt she needed. As time has gone on my mother has deteriorated physically. As soon as the staff realised she would benefit from a hospital style adjustable bed, this was provided. Mum has needed to spend more time in bed recently and has been given an air-flow mattress again, the idea was the staff and they organised it promptly. Whatever time I arrive to visit, whichever member of staff greet me at the door is able to tell me how my mother has been that day, whether she is in the day room, if she has eaten well and so on. Bryn Edwin was definitely the right choice for my mum.
