Kimmel Lodge has accommodation for 28 service users. The home aims to provide a service for people aged 55 years and over who need assisting to maintain their personal hygiene and general well-being.

They also provide a service for people who have been diagnosed with mental incapacities such as dementia and cognitive impairment and generally mild/moderate mental health. Everyone is treated as an individual.

They have freedom and choice within every area. They offer privacy and dignity and they have their cultural, religious and sectional sexual needs respected.

They are also able to accommodate up to eight people a day for day care. This covers seven days a week and they can also provide transport at an extra cost to and from the home (see manager for quotation).

They provide a permanent respite bed for day care service users. Please check for availability with the management team.

They are on the lovely North Wales coast, five minutes' walk from the beach, a two-minute walk to restaurants, coffee houses and public houses and a 10-minute walk to the local supermarket Asda.

A bus stop is located right outside the home. Five minutes by car or ten minutes on the bus takes you into Towyn seaside town where they have a funfair, promenade and lots of live entertainment.

The seaside town of Rhyl is five minutes by car, just over the blue bridge. They have a new Premier Inn hotel with a lovely restaurant called The Cook House. Rhyl also boasts the Pavilion Theatre where lots of live entertainment and shows take place.

There is also a restaurant called 1891, which overlooks the sea.

I am very happy with the care and support that my mum receives, all the staff are excellent and due to my mum having capacity they always ensure that she receives independence. Mum always loves all activities.

My mum is a resident of the home and has been there for many years now the staff are very friendly and professional
What's nice are the activities and things they do with the residents from sing along to animals coming into the home and celebrating people's birthdays it's so nice to see
The home
also keep me informed as to anything related to mum from medication change to any problems and if mum has a fall they notify me right away
The home is always warm and in the summer residents are allowed to go into the garden and so on staff are always cleaning and do a good job and are always welcoming

I can't praise's the management and staff enough they are amazing. The communication to me is first class they contact me with information about mum immediately if there is any problem or needs the care and attention they give her is second to none her room is always clean she always looks immaculate

I visit my friend in Kinmel Lodge and I cannot give details of items I have not witnessed. However, the home has continued over time to improve its lounge and dining room, which makes the lodge more comfortable. The staff/carers are wonderful and for me that is the main thing. I know the patients have
been out to the zoo in Colwyn Bay, which must have been stimulating for them.

My mum has resided at Kinmel Lodge for several years. The staff at Kinmel Lodge have monitored and amended my mum's care as her dementia progresses. Recently during a care review it was suggested that a recliner chair would benefit my mum who has begun leaning to one side. I sourced the chair, Kinmel
Lodge happily took delivery, set it up safely and disposed of her old chair. The staff take the time to understand individual residents' needs, which is fantastic and a great source of reassurance.

Positive experience from first enquiring for respie care with the manager to Mum returning as a permanent resident a few weeks later. Staff are a credit to the home, without exception, polite, friendly, caring and considerate.

Mum came to Kinmel Lodge in March 2021, during COVID. She was quite poorly and I thought she wouldn't last a few weeks. They have looked after her with great care and dignity. Staff and management are always available to discuss her health and any problems have been dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Mum had her bedroom recently decorated and it's lovely. They have gone out of their way to provide a hospital bed and mattress for her. She is very happy. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.
