Kimmel Lodge has accommodation for 28 service users. The home aims to provide a service for people aged 55 years and over who need assisting to maintain their personal hygiene and general well-being.

They also provide a service for people who have been diagnosed with mental incapacities such as dementia and cognitive impairment and generally mild/moderate mental health. Everyone is treated as an individual.

They have freedom and choice within every area. They offer privacy and dignity and they have their cultural, religious and sectional sexual needs respected.

They are also able to accommodate up to eight people a day for day care. This covers seven days a week and they can also provide transport at an extra cost to and from the home (see manager for quotation).

They provide a permanent respite bed for day care service users. Please check for availability with the management team.

They are on the lovely North Wales coast, five minutes' walk from the beach, a two-minute walk to restaurants, coffee houses and public houses and a 10-minute walk to the local supermarket Asda.

A bus stop is located right outside the home. Five minutes by car or ten minutes on the bus takes you into Towyn seaside town where they have a funfair, promenade and lots of live entertainment.

The seaside town of Rhyl is five minutes by car, just over the blue bridge. They have a new Premier Inn hotel with a lovely restaurant called The Cook House. Rhyl also boasts the Pavilion Theatre where lots of live entertainment and shows take place.

There is also a restaurant called 1891, which overlooks the sea.

My mother-in-law was in Kinmel Lodge from September 2020 until her sad death on the 15th February 2021. Her care by all of the staff has been exemplary, and we cannot speak highly enough of the attention that she was given, in what was the end of her life due to dementia. My mother-in-law was very happy
in the home and she never had any complaints at all. We wish to thank the manager, and indeed all of the staff, for their excellent communications with us, and the efforts that they all put in to make life as enjoyable as possible for my mother-in-law. We very much appreciate everything that has been done for us.

Hand on heart, I think this care home and all of the staff who here have transformed our lives, we were so sad and so scared to 'put our mum in a home', she needed care and a home was the only option - yet we still felt so guilty, almost immediately we knew we made the right decision. My mum loves it,
she has a life again, she smiles again, she dances, sings, draws, laughs, has fun with other residents. The staff are, oh my gosh, amazing. They upload pictures to a Facebook group and have set up a WhatsApp and FaceTime area to help us all keep connected. They seriously go above and beyond. Many many thank you's. Please never underestimate the mega important role you play in my mum's life. Thank you.

Unable to complete a full review as I have only visited Dad in the garden, due to Covid-19. However, the bits I have seen and witnessed, I am delighted to see how the people at Kinmel Lodge are taking care of my father. Everyone is dancing with rules and procedures, but even so, the people are doing
their utmost to provide a caring and professional level of care. All you can do is trust people you love with people paid to care. So far the care level is tremendous.

We would like to thank all the staff at Kinmel Lodge care home, Kinmel Bay, for the way they have and are looking after our friend. Every time we visited her before the lockdown, she was always very pleased to see us and always praised the way she was being looked after. Since the lockdown, we have
still been able to stay in touch with video calls which she looks forward to on a regular basis. A big thank you must go to all the staff for taking the time out to do this, it really makes her day, and ours.

The care home was proactive and responded very quickly to the potential consequences of the adverse effect the coronavirus could potentially have for residents and locked the facility down very early. During this period, my mother has had a few issues, but the staff dealt with them quickly and kept

My aunt is doing really well and is extremely well looked after. She says she is very happy and this has reassured my mum during our visits. Her dementia is slowly progressing, but she remains content and well looked after - only when she sees us, does she feel upset.

My aunt has been at Kinmel Lodge for 12 months and has settled well. She gets on well with the staff and tells me she is happy. They know her well and are able to identify when she needs checks for UTI chest infection etc which reassures us as a family. Again whilst my aunt wouldn't want to be on Facebook
etc it is lovely to receive photos of her enjoying the activities.

The home offers a friendly atmosphere. The staff are extremely good with the clients. Freshly cooked meals every day. The home is very clean throughout. I am regularly updated on my mum's condition and wellbeing. I have no concerns regarding my mums care what so ever, whilst I carry on with my life,
as I know she is very well cared for. Would highly recommend this home.

The staff at the home manage to look after my mother extremely well. Even though she often develops difficult behaviour, I have no worries about her care when I leave after visiting.

The home suits my father down to earth approach to life. It is a home from home. He is well fed, looked after and fairly free to do what he can under the circumstances but the home ensure his safety, care and wellbeing are paramount following his care plan. It appears at times new staff come in but

My Aunty moved into Kinmel Lodge during the last week of November and felt at "home" straight away. All the staff have been very helpful and professional in settling her in and have made her extremely welcome into the Kinmel "family".
All the staff are patient and organised in running the residence
and have created a family home atmosphere, which is relaxing for the residents and reassuring to their families.
They have involved my Aunt in many activities to date, making her day interesting and enjoyable for her and you can see her improved happiness in her face, although she can't tell me about it as she suffers with a memory condition.
There is currently a refurbishment program being undertaken to raise the standards of decor and comfort of the guests, which is being rolled out with minimal disturbance but you can see how bright, warm and welcoming it is.

I was amazed with the development of work done at the home from when my father in law arrived. We can see the potential for the finished work. The carers and manager are working with great empathy for families and clients.

This is an outstanding care home. My dad is here and says to the family how excellent the girls are. My dad is very happy at Kinmel Lodge. The care from the staff is fantastic. The staff interact with the patients all the time. Since the new management has taken over, the home has gone from strength
to strength and you can see the patients are happier and more talkative. The interaction is great.
