Kimmel Lodge has accommodation for 28 service users. The home aims to provide a service for people aged 55 years and over who need assisting to maintain their personal hygiene and general well-being.

They also provide a service for people who have been diagnosed with mental incapacities such as dementia and cognitive impairment and generally mild/moderate mental health. Everyone is treated as an individual.

They have freedom and choice within every area. They offer privacy and dignity and they have their cultural, religious and sectional sexual needs respected.

They are also able to accommodate up to eight people a day for day care. This covers seven days a week and they can also provide transport at an extra cost to and from the home (see manager for quotation).

They provide a permanent respite bed for day care service users. Please check for availability with the management team.

They are on the lovely North Wales coast, five minutes' walk from the beach, a two-minute walk to restaurants, coffee houses and public houses and a 10-minute walk to the local supermarket Asda.

A bus stop is located right outside the home. Five minutes by car or ten minutes on the bus takes you into Towyn seaside town where they have a funfair, promenade and lots of live entertainment.

The seaside town of Rhyl is five minutes by car, just over the blue bridge. They have a new Premier Inn hotel with a lovely restaurant called The Cook House. Rhyl also boasts the Pavilion Theatre where lots of live entertainment and shows take place.

There is also a restaurant called 1891, which overlooks the sea.

Since the arrival of the new manager the home has been totally transformed, the staff and residents are so much happier and the atmosphere has changed for the better. With the home being re-furnished, the home is brighter and lighter, more activities have been provided and the garden will be so much
better for the residents and visiting guests in the summer. I would have no hesitation at recommending this establishment to anyone looking for care in a good place.

With new management, we've noticed a big improvement all around in the home and staff. Still room for improvement in which there still is more to be done. This review would be more on good scores if carried out again in 12 months.

I care for my wife who has dementia and I take her to Kinmel Lodge two days a week for respite. When we arrive the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I was recently in the hospital for an operation and my wife had to go into respite for two and a half weeks. She was well looked after and I am very
satisfied with the care she gets.

Over the past few months, there have been many changes to Kinmel Lodge making much more pleasant for visitors and residents.

Kinmel Lodge has improved greatly over the past few months: new windows, furniture and door. All the staff are lovely and treat all the residents with great care and dignity. The food is excellent with choices at each meal. The home itself is clean and pleasant.

My father resided at Kinmel Lodge for 8 months. He was a lot happier there than at home, as he was less restricted, whilst being safe.
He loved all the staff, especially one member of staff who would have a dance with him in the lounge.
I always found the staff to be helpful and cheerful and the residents
were treated with respect. It is a homely care home and was always clean. Dad lived in Sutton Coldfield all his life, he had respite at the home whilst staying with my sister in Abergele, so that I could have a rest. When Dads dementia worsened and we discussed with him the options, he said could he please go to the care home by the sea (Kinmel lodge) and the rest is history. We lost Dad in April 2018, he was 91 years old and it gives me comfort that his last days, apart from his health, seemed happy.
Thank you, everyone, at Kinmel Lodge for me and my sister's peace of mind during his last months. God bless you.

I would like to thank all the staff for their genuine kindness and commitment in caring for my mother. I know she was safe and well looked after at all times and the staff team were always personable, professional and patient. I would recommend the home to others.

I was dragged along to Kinmel Lodge after facing the horrible truth that I could no longer give my uncle the care he deserved and needed.


I was totally against care homes as I had the misconception that they are cold and clinical.


On my very first meeting with Kinmel Lodge my fears and misconceptions

were thrown out the window. They have gone above and beyond to provide a personal environment where my uncle not only feels just as happy as he was at home but most importantly he is safe.


I live quite far away but made the decision to place him here as it was simply the only care home I felt I could trust. With the Internet cafe and the staff teaching him how to use the Internet I am able to Skype him on a regular basis so I feel reassured that he's happy at all times.


This is just one of the many ways Kinmel Lodge is set apart from other homes as they make sure contact with family is always available.


Kinmel Lodge have clearly worked hard to find care assistants that see their role as a vocation rather than just a job and this clearly shows as they take time to get to know residents on a personal but professional level.


The staff not only do an amazing job caring for my uncle but they are always there if I have any concerns or just need reassurance that he's got everything he needs.


Thanks to all people at Kinmel Lodge you have made this difficult time much easier.
