Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us improve our service where required. We are sorry you felt your relative's room was cold. Please be assured this was checked by our maintenance operative and there have been no issues noted with the radiator in the room; it is giving off heat. We have spoken to staff to ensure windows are kept closed due to the cold weather and anticipate this should help. If however either your relative or you experience any further issues then please see or contact the Home Manager.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where necessary. As there is no specific quiet area on the Ein Cartref community for families to use when visiting, the staff are happy to assist your Mother and you to a quieter area or bedroom to allow for privacy during visits. Unfortunately, for the security of the home and those we care for, we are not permitted to give out the access codes to the building. I understand the frustration this may cause especially on weekends when you may have to wait a little longer for the door to be opened but the safety and wellbeing of our residents is paramount.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?
“Kind care means getting to know people and understanding their emotions, making every effort to offer the best possible care, and getting Residents involved in the activities that make them happiest.”
Christine started working at Abermill in 2001, and later progressed to Home Manager level after excelling in her role as Deputy Manager at the home. She has gained experience in a number of different care services, including residential and memory care, and has achieved qualifications in health and social services, management and care.
Christine closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that means they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
When asked what she enjoys the most about her role, Christine remarked: “I enjoy taking time to interact with Residents and their Relatives, which allows me to get to know each individual on a personal level.”
Christine credits her biggest achievement as completing a 3km sponsored walk, raising more than £400 for Alzheimer’s Society with the support from her Colleagues and Residents.
Outside of work, Christine enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, including watching her niece and nephew play rugby.
