Abermill Care Home

My brother-in-law seems very happy in the home.

Not able to give some ratings as due to covid we have been restricted with our visits, so things such as the cleanliness of rooms, food and drink, activities, we can only surmise at. Mam seems happy and contented and the staff are friendly.

Mother is settled and happy. The staff are caring, polite and friendly.

Very good all round service really and they really look after my mother which keeps me happy and my mother really likes it there.

Abermill Care Home is such an amazing place. My nan was a resident here until she passed away in January 2021. She was cared for amazingly during her time here. The staff are so friendly and enthusiastic - especially the care and compassion the staff showed during the pandemic when we were unable to visit her. Would recommend this care home to anyone.

Over the past 12-months, I have found the arrangements, thoughtfulness of all staff to be exemplary and paramount to the successful running of Abermill. The year has had challenges never met before, and they have been very successful in their performance.

The staff are brilliant and we as a family are so pleased we can be assured our mum is having the very best of care. Despite lockdown, we are kept up to date with mum's health and well-being. Abermill has taken a weight off our shoulders. Knowing there is someone there 24/7 to look after our much-loved mum.

I’m extremely pleased with the way that my grandmother has been cared for by the staff at Abermill. Before the outbreak of the pandemic, not being able to visit my grandmother as consistently as I would have liked to, I was very much comforted to see that my grandmother had friends in the other residents at the home, and was in the very warm company of the staff. My grandmother took great pleasure in the activities that were planned to keep the residents entertained and occupied, and I’m convinced that a much higher level of socialisation that my grandmother has experienced while being a resident at the home has added years to her life. Many residents have been born and bred in Abertridwr, my grandmother included, so there’s no doubt that Abermill is very much an invaluable part of the Abertridwr community. Since March of last year, I have had much faith in the staff’s handling of safety arrangements, and have had my mind at ease knowing that my grandmother is in safe hands! Thank you!

I cannot speak highly enough of the care and compassion that every member of staff has shown my mother whilst in their care. I am so pleased that so far they have managed to keep my mam safe and well during the covid pandemic. Their attention to the residents is absolutely first class. I haven't seen my mother looking so well for years despite not having a haircut for over a year. When I speak to her she only has praise for the staff. They go above and beyond to mark occasions in the home with celebrations when they can. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the staff that keep my mam safe and well - you are doing an amazing job.

The staff are absolutely wonderful and have cared for my mother. They have gone above and beyond their duties, nothing is ever too much for them. They always keep me and my family well informed especially with me being in Birmingham. When I speak to my mam she is always praising them and she has never looked healthier!

The manager and all the staff at Abermill have worked tirelessly to ensure the residents have been as safe as possible during the lockdown. Although they have had cases of Coronavirus, they’ve still looked after the residents with 100% commitment. They’ve become the second family to my mother-in-law in these difficult times. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Abermill.

My mother has been a resident at Abermill since Sept 2017. She is very happy here and enjoys all the excellent entertainment here. The staff are very kind to all residents and treat them all with compassion and respect. The food offered is of excellent quality and she is offered choices. During the coronavirus, they kept in touch with me by phone, zoom and Whatsapp. I was able to keep in touch with my mother digitally. I have no hesitation in recommending Abermill Care Home.

Dad continually praises staff for their professional and personal approach to duties; he is very happy at Abermill. All family members and friends who visit him are pleased with the home and service provided.

My sister has now been resident at Abermill Care Home for the past 6 months. During this time she has been very appreciative of the care and respect she has received from all the staff. The past 14 weeks have been a tester for all concerned and I am very grateful for ALL the staff for their dedication, thoughtfulness and encouragement. I have no adverse comments and still, my excellent approval goes without saying. They keep up the performance of duties efficiently and effectively. Many thanks.

My mother has been a resident since last year and has settled in well thanks to the dedication of the staff. When she hasn’t been well they have promptly called the GP and kept us updated on the situation. Staff are very caring and treat mum like a member of their own family and because of the lockdown they are under more pressure than ever but are coping extremely well. They are never too busy to give us an update when we call them to see how Mum is doing, as mum finds it difficult to hold a conversation on the phone.

They are angels and even more so now we are all under government lockdown.

Room 302 is like an icebox! members of staff put a heater in it and it is much better now. Apart from this everything is excellent.

Home is nice. Entertainment is lovely. Very nice concert for St David's Day. Very clean. Staff are very friendly.

The staff are wonderful with my aunt, she has settled well and her recovery is progressing well.
