Initially by chance and then through familiarity I have become a weekly visitor at Greenhill - spending an hour or two chatting to residents. I have got to know a half dozen or so quite well over time and now regards them as friends. I like them, we have a bit of fun as we relive the past. I have always been felt welcome by management and staff and I am constantly impressed by the effort made to ensure the well being, comfort and happiness of residents. All are treated with respect, care, compassion and kindness. A real effort in taken to stimulate and enrich lives through a range of activities, offered by enthusiastic positive staff - with a genuine attempt to include as many as possible in this.

The care my mother-in-law is receiving is outstanding. The staff show great empathy and always seem to go the extra mile. The home is welcoming, clean and odour-free. A range of activities are provided and as far as possible individual interests of the residents are taken into account. It feels more like a hotel. Thank you.

My husband has been a resident at Greenhill Care Home for a month. He had several falls at our home, he was in hospital for 11 weeks. I knew I could not look after him in our home. It was a tough decision but Greenhill has made the move easier. The staff are pleasant and welcoming, they encourage him to walk. His room is good too.

I really like living at Greenhill, we are free to go walking around the home, love the food, couldn't ask for better. Looked after very well - clothes washed, room cleaned all excellent. Love the company of staff and other residents. Couldn't like or ask for anything better.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review, your kind words mean a lot to the whole team.
I don’t know anyone who would want to end up in a care home, least of all my mum! With that said if it did happen to me one day Greenhill is where I would go and I’m so glad we found it for Mum... What a fantastic welcoming and caring facility set in a beautiful location. I’ve been blown away by the way every member of staff has engaged with my mum. She wants for nothing! There always seems to be a stream of delicious food and homemade cakes coming from the kitchen and a huge range of activities going on. The place is spotless warm and fresh with a real effort to engage with all the residents.
Thank you for the kind words about the care of your mum, I will pass your lovely comments on to the team.
I visited a friend on 23rd of February. I was welcomed in and someone fetched my friend from the activities room without any protestations. We were taken to the new Daffodil Café Bar which she was proud of after the official opening. Not my first visit but each time she was happy, obviously well cared for. Everywhere looks clean, bright, and welcoming. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. No one makes you feel like a nuisance. Hope you realize how important and appreciated your roles are for family and friends to know their loved ones are cared for. My own lovely Mum died in totally different 'care' home circumstances which I don't think I'll ever come to terms with.
Thank you for leaving us this lovely review, our team will be so pleased to read your kind words. You are welcome back anytime.
I cannot praise the management and staff at Greenhill enough for the wonderful care they gave to my sister in the few months she was a resident there. My sister had terminal cancer and originally went into Greenhill for respite care, but soon found she was surrounded by the most caring, respectful, professional team who took such gentle care of her that she decided to stay until she died on the 13th of December 2023. I will never be able to thank them all enough for all their loving to care to my sister and also to myself and sister and I would have no hesitation in recommending Greenhill to anyone who may need their care. Without exception every member of staff are a credit to Shaw Healthcare. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to write this review.
This is such a lovely review to read, thank you so much. I will pass your kind words on to the team who will be touched by this review. Wishing you and your family peace and strength in this difficult time.
Greenhill Care Home is warm, inviting, friendly, joyful, a wonderful place to visit as a relative and work (I am a Chaplin, working through the church out in the community). We feel so blessed as a family that both mum-in-law and great-grandmother are so well cared for. The staff are so attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The feeling is always one of positivity. They are led by a very caring, present manager who is fantastic and gets involved with all activities. Thank you so much for all you do.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We love getting our residents involved in various activities! Your lovely review will be passed on to the rest of the team.

Meet the Team (5)

I started at Greenhill as a night support worker in January 2022 before working my way up to night team leader and then day team leader.
Coming into work feels like being with family and I get to meet some really fantastic and interesting people. I have been given lots of training opportunities and have become an in-house trainer for manual handling and 'how do I know you' dementia training.

I enjoy my job and when I come into work it feels like a family atmosphere. I get to spend time with the residents and get to know them really well and hear all their life stories.
The team works well together and each member of staff will work hard to get the job done to a high standard.

I have worked here for 28 years and I have a dual role as I cook and support worker. I like doing both roles and I get to spend lots of time with the residents. Having a dual job role gives me lots of variety!

In October 2014 I decided to get out of the retail business and try something new and I haven’t looked back since! I started off doing bank support work and worked my way up to being a team leader.
I love coming into work and interacting with residents and hearing all their life stories. Coming into work is different every day and having a laugh with the residents and staff is the highlight.

There's always a great atmosphere in the home and I always look forward to going to work. I work alongside a great team who work hard to bring joy to the residents. I also care a lot for the residents and their wellbeing.
When I started at Greenhill I was a domestic assistant and when an administrator position became available I was lucky to be able to take up a different role.
