The catering team at Balcarres understands the nutritional needs of older people and creates delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all residents and visitors. Balcarres Care Home is a warm, friendly home from home, not only for the residents but also for friends and family. The care, compassion and love my mum received from all members of staff was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff know residents and family and friends very well and
made us extremely welcome. The manager and staff are excellent and a dedicated team. I am so very glad my mum was there.

I am comfortably residing in an en-suite room with a pleasant outlook.
The food is excellent and varied.
The staff are very caring and professional and my medical needs are met without complaint.
The outings and entertainment provided are varied and most enjoyable.
My husband is welcomed to join
me in an evening meal at weekends.

Having travelled from South Africa to see my parents I was extremely happy to see the level of care and commitment by both staff and management at Balcarres. I know and have confidence that on returning to South Africa my mother will continue to get a high level of both professional and personal care

Balcarres is a wonderful place, we were treated like the residents from the moment we visited, we were told to help ourselves to tea, coffee and biscuits or if it was time for the residents to have tea we were always included and with any activities that were going on as well. We were also invited for
a meal as well. Nothing was too much for the staff and they always were calm when confronted with different situations that occur sometimes with the residents. The rooms were lovely, spacious and bright and clean. We enjoyed going every day and got to know quite a few of the residents. Would be very happy to go there myself.

My friend has been a resident in Balcarres for about 3 years and each time I visit I am made to feel very welcomed by the staff and always receive a cheery hello and a nice pot of tea. My friend is extremely happy at Balcarres.

Lovely care home, bright and colourful surroundings, beautifully kept gardens, staff very attentive and nothing too much trouble. We are always made to feel very welcome by all staff at any time day and night.


The management made the transition to the home very easy and comfortable ...seeing to all

needs, very reassuring.
Two staff in particular, made the stay enjoyable with their patience and understanding.

Our resident is very well cared for and since her hip operations has been encouraged by staff with her walking. There have been no problems with her recovery. She is always happy when we visit her and seems to fit in well with everyone and the staff all like her.
