So grateful to the whole staff team for all they have done and continue to do to support and care for my dad. I really appreciate the warmth, patience, kindness and loving care shown to him and the family. Carers work so hard and with such compassion to adapt his care to his changing and often challenging
needs and to maintain his dignity. The team have worked tirelessly through such difficult times and continue to strive to improve the care offered to residents and recover from the impact of Covid. I really appreciate the way all members of the team, whatever their role within the home, take the time to engage with residents as they go about all their various tasks. I am reassured that whenever there are concerns with my dad they are communicated and dealt with promptly and effectively.

My dad has been in Lochleven for a year and a half now. We have always been happy with the care he receives. The staff are always helpful and address any issues as quickly as they can.
Dad has dementia and he seems content in his world. There will never be a perfect one, but we are happy with the
care he receives.

I find the staff friendly to me though some are disengaged from the residents. Mostly care seems good, though more care could be taken to ensure residents have their own clothes. Until recently the unit has smelled fresh but over the last few weeks, the smell of urine has been prevalent on entry and
throughout. My husband missed his covid booster because I had not been asked to complete the form(I live only 5 minutes away).

Home needs freshening up. Many staff changes over the year.
Handled the Covid testing very well.
Kept up to date with all changes regarding Covid restrictions and updates.
Overall, have no complaints.
Maintanicae sorted out any problems regarding furniture, runners and brackets.

The home currently has a plan in place for redecoration following the prolonged period of the pandemic. Non essential work was not carried out to ensure we mitigated any risk as best we could. However things have much improved now and the home has a plan in place to freshen it up.


It's good to know that you feel the home has a good level of communication during the covid period ensuring you were kept up to date.

My mum was in Katrine Nursing Wing for a year and a half. Every staff member I dealt with was so caring towards her. The main point I liked was the continuity of staff that attended to her which she needed to feel safe, I cannot thank everyone enough for the support she received and I would definitely
recommend Lochleven Care Home to others.

On our initial visit to the home my daughter and I were very impressed with the positive welcome we received. We were given a tour of the home and in all the 'wing's the friendliness of the staff was very apparent, questions were asked and encouraged. We were shown two rooms which were available there
was no difficulty in choosing the room we wanted. The transfer from another home to Lock Leven went smoothly. My wife was received on 27th May and is still there to date. I am very pleased with the care and attention she is receiving. She is treated as an adult and is carrying out conversations with the staff. They encourage her to walk with a Zimmer and I can see a slight improvement in her walking. She enjoys her visit to the hairdresser and I have been encouraged to take her for a car run next week. The staff ask her needs and try to encourage her to participate in activities. The room is clean and her laundry is attended to.

Although it's difficult to review the home with current Covid restrictions causing limitations on activities and participation, I still find the staff are going the extra mile in accommodations visitation and support of all the residents.

When the time came for my mother to go into a care home I found the decision making extremely difficult. However from the start, the staff at Loch Leven care home were extremely helpful. Not only were they very adept at helping my mother adapt but I also found them reassuring and felt I was leaving
my mother in capable hands. In the three months that my mother has been a full time resident, the staff at the care home have been excellent at communicating with me, very caring towards my mother, good at explaining procedures and they have all been very pleasant and polite. We as a family, have been very grateful for this. My mother only has good things to say about the caring staff and loves the food.

My mother has moved up from Glasgow to be near me in Monifieth. The staff have made my mum feel very welcome and have been really helpful and informative. Mum only moved in on 31st May 2022 and I know she is really enjoying the company of the other residents and staff. Many thanks to all the staff for

I wish to thank all the staff for your constant care, compassion and humour in looking after my mother, in sometimes very trying times. My mother always said how nice everyone was and how 'smiley' the people around her were and she was not easily pleased. She did not like making a fuss though so I was
grateful for the professional and intuitive care that was always given to her.
You all played such an important part in her last adventure in life. It was obvious that she was not just cared for, but also cared about.
Thank you again for making my mother's experience in Lochleven a much more relaxed and fun experience than we could all have hoped for. We met some lovely people and have good memories to cherish.

Our mum had a long, happy life but she faced challenges; the most dramatic and distressing one being living with dementia. Wanting the best care for her - we're glad we chose Lochleven Care Home. In its relaxed, informal, friendly environment - and in her airy, pretty room - she became calm and relaxed.
The Tummel Wing team – always professional and caring – were also lots of fun. Fiercely independent, Mum was given much personal freedom, making friends among staff and residents, creating her own ‘house rules’, which mostly they indulged. Over time, the staff became like her second family – and ours - their sensitive approach helping Mum to stay entertaining and funny, busy, cheeky and nimble, right to the last. Sadly Mum recently passed away there – quietly and calmly, in her own little bed, with Dad sitting by her side. It was a dignified, peaceful end to a wonderful life. Thank you, everyone at Lochleven, for helping to make it so.

My relative has been a resident in 2 of the units in Lochleven, as her care needs have increased. She initially took a while to settle in, due to worsening dementia but the staff could not have been more caring, patient and understanding and really made the transition as easy as possible. The senior
staff and manager are always on hand if we've had anything we've wished to discuss along the way.
Lochleven is clean and welcoming and so well designed and decorated to make the residents feel safe and at home. The greatest asset is definitely the lovely staff. They've taken the time to get to know my relative as her present and past self and she likes and trusts them all. As a family, we are grateful to all at Lochleven for everything they have done and continue to do for our relative and also for us. Thank you.

As a family we found the home and staff to be very professional and we had no issues at all with the care of our aunt. Staff were always helpful, kind and compassionate and we were always made to feel welcome at any time. If there were ever problems relating to our aunt the home would contact us immediately.
It was a comfort to know she was being looked after by caring staff.

I would absolutely recommend Lochleven Care Home. Both my parents were admitted at the beginning of December 2020 due to unforeseen circumstances, my mother for nursing care and father due to dementia. Mother deteriorated but the nursing care and attention was admirable and she was treated with extreme
dignity throughout end of life care. I was kept informed at every step and was allowed to visit near the end and I’m extremely grateful for that. My father, on his own now, is surrounded by staff who has guided him through his grief and his care is second to none. My father is extremely happy at Lochleven and has stated so on many occasions. I had a window visit this week and his mental well-being is brilliant, as a daughter seeing him happy and settled puts considerable confidence and trust in all the staff at Lochleven. All staff are extremely approachable and pleasant at all times. Dad is well fed, clean and tidy and his room is lovely, will recommend.

My father was in Lochleven Care Home for a short time but the whole family derived much comfort from the standard of care he received. The staff showed great kindness and compassion. His room was lovely and private. Despite the restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus, the staff went out of their way
to sit with Dad during his last couple of days which brought great comfort to us. All the support staff were excellent also. A very big thank you to all we came into contact with as we couldn't have asked for more.

The unit my mother lives in is always clean, staff are always on hand and are extremely proactive in their caring tasks. My mother always appears well and it is evident that staff take time to make sure all residents’ care needs are attended to at all times. I have found all members of staff I have
talked to extremely knowledgeable regarding my mother’s care plan, and only too happy to spend time discussing her care. I would have absolutely no hesitation recommending Lochleven Care Home to any family considering the placement of a relative.

My husband has now been in Lochleven Care Home for 1 year. During this time he has settled in very well. He has dementia but gets on very well with staff who are very caring. He enjoys his food, drink and is always very happy and content when I visit. He enjoys the activities and outings provided. I

I have nothing negative to say. I have only visited my mum once in the short time she has been there and she was happy and settled. It seems the care and attention she is getting is excellent, especially during this difficult time. The care staff has always been at the end of the phone if I have needed
help and guidance.

I have worked at Lochleven care home for over 10 years.

I have always worked in care homes, have nearly 20 years of experience in the industry and have loved every minute of it.

When I first started in a direct care role, it was the residents, their life stories, their love and their successes that really kindled a flame within my soul that has yet to be extinguished.


When I moved into more of a leadership role, I was lucky to be working with an amazing team that shared their knowledge and experience, freely working together to ensure that our residents are living the best life possible.


In my personal time, I love to read, my favourite book is probably Gone with the Wind.
I like to do DIY and pretend I’m good at it, I enjoy playing the cello – my neighbours probably don’t, I’m very much an animal lover, the more animals I can get in my life the better. The karaoke machine calls my name when I go out with friends and family, I’m pretty much a stay-at-home person, my books, my cats and my cello, although my newest life goal is to go to Switzerland to visit the famous Lindt chocolate museum and make chocolate with the master chocolatier
