I have nothing negative to say. I have only visited my mum once in the short time she has been there and she was happy and settled. It seems the care and attention she is getting is excellent, especially during this difficult time. The care staff has always been at the end of the phone if I have needed help and guidance.

If some of my opinions below are vague, this is only due the not being able to visit inside the home due to staff adhering to the recommended Government Guidelines, I thank them for this.

I am pleased with the care my mother is receiving. The staff are very friendly and committed. They appear to have coped with the current situation well and had a safe arrangement for visits. Although on my visit, it was pouring with rain and the gazebo set up had seen better days, letting water in, I am looking forward to my next visit being indoors.

I am happy with the level of care my mum receives. The majority of staff appear very caring, and I am kept informed of any changes or concerns. My mum is well-fed, and her personal care is of a high standard. The care home itself could do with a bit of updating ie decor etc, but this does not detract from the level of care.

I have found the staff have been very attentive and caring, very supportive to me for the past two and a half years. I miss seeing my husband very much, but I know that he is getting the best care possible. The staff are very understanding, and I have a good relationship with them.

Both my parents were admitted to Lochleven at the same time approx 3-years ago with dementia. They have received excellent care during their time there. I lost my father after six months, but my mother is still receiving excellent daily care from all the staff, and I'm always made welcome when I visit.

I am 400 miles away from my mother; however, whenever I have visited, she has been happy and looks smart. The care team keep in touch with me by phone or Facetime with Mum which has been excellent. I would particularly like to praise one gentleman for always going the extra mile.

The Care Home Manager and his staff have helped greatly in getting our Dad settled into the home. Especially during such a difficult time, nothing has been too much trouble for them. Would love to have been able to view the home and the room Dad was going into but as this wasn't possible, the Manager was happy to make a video of the room and send it to us. They also arranged a video call for Dad's 90th birthday so we were all able to see and speak to him for a wee while.

Lochleven is a great home and I’m glad my gran and grandfather are both living there. It has a friendly homely feel when you walk through the doors and are always nicely greeted. The staff are brilliant and very caring. They are always on hand if you have any questions and know a lot about their residents as they can normally answer straight away. The home has done a great job informing families over the past months during Covid with updates on how their relatives are getting on or if there are any problems.

Staff and management of Lochleven Care Home gave exemplary service in the care of my parents in the past 3 months. Their care of my parents until their deaths was caring, compassionate and medically appropriate. Their support for me and my family through the loss of my parents in such a short time could not be faulted and will remain with me for many years as a warm memory at a dark time. Thank you so much for everything.

My mother was admitted to Lochleven Care Home in May 2018 after suffering a stroke. She settled in quickly and talks about it as her home. The home is bright and airy and for my mother's room has full-size french windows, which look out on the garden. My mother and her family have been extremely satisfied with the home and the staff throughout her stay.
My mother has just suffered a second stroke (Dec 2019), and I wanted to pay tribute to all of the staff whether carer, cleaner, manager or nurse for their exceptional support to my mother and her family. It even extends to staff coming in on their day off/holiday to see how my mother was doing. They all work well together as a team.
The nurse and the manager could see that my mother would benefit from a bed which could be adjusted electronically to change from lying down to a raised position. Without hesitation or any pressure from the family, they purchased such a bed the day after my mother had her stroke.

I cannot praise the staff enough.

The layout of the home for Mum's needs is excellent. The rooms are very pleasant, comfortable and clean. The staff are really good with Mum and very capable of meeting her needs, even when she is having a 'difficult' day.

Mum is happy and the family are happy.

Mum moved to the dementia unit at Lochleven from what had been temporary respite in a local care home. As a family, we were amazed at how readily mum accepted her new surroundings. This was very much down to the training, expertise and of course the caring nature of the staff within the unit. Staff were at ease with mum's dementia and so mum was at ease with the staff. There is always someone on hand to assist if needed, the rooms are clean and fresh at all times and mum's needs are understood fully. Mum is now thriving in her new environment. Couldn't ask for better care. If you're unsure of moving your loved one to a full dementia unit I would say do it - you won't regret your decision.

Right from the start when we were moving my wife into the home, the staff were so helpful, with hanging pictures, arranging the TV connection and ensuring the room was being set up the way we wanted. The room was bright, clean, fresh and comfortable.
The layout of the ward was ideal for my wife, with a box shape where each side had interesting aspects she could stop and examine on her way round, have a rest, or have a chat with another resident.
The staff are all really good and get on well with the residents and there always seems to be someone available if help is needed.

Overall my wife seems more contented and happy since she moved in.

My siblings and I are all happy with the care that our mother, who has severe dementia, has received since she was moved to a more suitable ward in the home.

There, she has more freedom to roam the corridors and go at her own pace. The staff are attentive to our mother's needs, although she is mostly unable to communicate what she wants. She seems settled and happy in the home.

I have worked at Lochleven care home for over 10 years.

I have always worked in care homes, have nearly 20 years of experience in the industry and have loved every minute of it.

When I first started in a direct care role, it was the residents, their life stories, their love and their successes that really kindled a flame within my soul that has yet to be extinguished.

When I moved into more of a leadership role, I was lucky to be working with an amazing team that shared their knowledge and experience, freely working together to ensure that our residents are living the best life possible.

In my personal time, I love to read, my favourite book is probably Gone with the Wind.

I like to do DIY and pretend I’m good at it, I enjoy playing the cello – my neighbours probably don’t, I’m very much an animal lover, the more animals I can get in my life the better. The karaoke machine calls my name when I go out with friends and family, I’m pretty much a stay-at-home person, my books, my cats and my cello, although my newest life goal is to go to Switzerland to visit the famous Lindt chocolate museum and make chocolate with the master chocolatier

Karen Stormont Job Title: Administrator Joined: 2021
Karen Stormont

My name is Karen, I’m the Administrator and started working in Lochleven in July 2021. Life has led me through a varying path including working as a multi-franchise Vehicle Administrator, Finance Administration and on to my current role as a Care Home administrator. Lochleven is lively and friendly with the residents being the heart of the home. I thoroughly enjoy the fast pace and interesting individuals I meet on a daily basis.

Mari MacMaster Job Title: Receptionist Joined: 2018
Mari MacMaster
My name is Mari, I am a receptionist here a Lochleven Care Home. I work as part of a team to cover the main reception at Lochleven Care Home. As a mum of a disabled daughter and working in care for many years before coming to Lochelven Care Home, I can empathise with families, residents and staff at the home.

I believe in making the most of every day, whatever that means to the individual. The right to live a full and happy life no matter what your ability.

I am happy that I am part of the team at Lochleven Care Home.
