Pitkerro Care Centre

My wife has been in here for seven weeks. I cannot speak more highly of the home and the staff, friendly, clean, informative, plenty of activities keeping people occupied, plenty of outdoor space. Excellent.

Mum is very happy in Pitkerro Care Home. The staff are great and go to great lengths to make sure residents are happy. Lindsay and her team are very approachable and if there's a problem they are quick to solve any issues. There are lots of activities available for residents to keep them busy. Residents and their families are invited to themed events, e.g., an Italian meal, which was a lovely way to spend time with Mum. Glad Mum is here at Pitkerro, it has to be one of the best!

My aunt has been in Pitkerro for almost 2 years and it has changed her life from taking part in all the different activities that are offered. The wonderful staff. She is so happy at Pitkerro. The home is always clean and tidy and you are welcomed at the front door with a smile. Carer Franco always makes my aunt smile and makes sure she is looked after well. A job is never too big or small.

My mum has been in here for more than a year and the staff are excellent dealing with the residents especially when they are not understanding what is happening to them. They are passionate about the residents care and they encourage residents to take part in all activities. Management has an open door policy and are always available to discuss any needs. I would recommend this care home. The place is spotless and residents rooms are cleaned on a daily basis.

Since Graham moved in, he has settled in very well. The support from all staff has been outstanding. Every visit I make I am made to feel so welcome. Staff go above their dueities in caring, duties and empathy. The home is very clean and food amazing. It feels so much homely for Graham. The entertainment has benefitted Graham so much.

On first arriving I was greeted at the door with politeness and kindness. Walking round it was spotless. No smell throughout and constant housekeeping. The food I described as home cooking like my mum did. The chef visits all rooms each meal time. I have settled in perfectly, now one of the family.

I cannot recommend this care centre enough. My mother had dementia and Alzheimer's but enjoyed every day because of the care and devotion of the staff. The management have always been totally involved in everything that goes on. They are invested in making improvements all the time. It is always a welcoming place and all the staff are so caring and go the extra mile. Each resident is well known and their needs are always met. My mother has had the loveliest time in the home and I have felt so reassured that she was well cared for. Communication with family has been very good and the amount of activities provided are second to none. I honestly can't thank all of the staff enough for the love they showed my mother. The food and cleanliness were lovely. Thank you all so much

Our dad became a full time resident after a 2 week respite care and spent a total of 15 months before he sadly passed away last month. He sadly fell ill in February with 2 very bad infections and was hospitalised for 8 days, out for 6 days then declined dramatically week after, before we sadly lost him. His time there was seeing him happy as he could be with dementia, but his moods became very challenging, although we did visit nearly every day or 2nd day, and as much as we could. The staff were very helpful, and really couldn't have done any more for dad or ourselves and also when we were told he was in end of life care, we chose for him to stay in Pitkerro rather than move him to hospital and given bedding,food, cups of tea, care and compassion. We decided we would collect donations at the funeral for the comfort fund for activities for the residents. If you're thinking of placing a loved one in care, look no further than Pitkerro. We wouldn't have placed our dad anywhere else. F/L

Possibly the only thing I'd say is more support for relatives is something they should look at but I certainly would recommend Pitkerro.

I have no hesitation in recommending Pitkerro Care Centre to anyone. They are all very friendly and attentive to all resident's needs. 10 out of 10.

I cannot fault the service provided by the Pitkerro team. The home is always spotless, the staff are excellent, providing a good level of care for everyone. All the staff are approachable.

My husband has been in this excellent facility for just over 2 weeks now, the 12 homes we visited before were not for him, but when we walked into Pitkerro we just started smiling. All the residents were smiling, and as staff passed by, be they domestics, care assistants, or nurses they all spoke and smiled at any resident they met. The building was spotlessly clean and we felt very hopeful. We met with the Manager and the Deputy Manager. They were very professional but also very warm and so very approachable. Their enthusiasm when they talked about their residents and the standard of care they expected from their staff was so reassuring. My lovely husband was allocated a room and he has settled so well. The staff are amazing and treat him with gentleness and respect. I would love to mention all the staff by name but my special thanks go to the manager, deputy manager, and Senior Nurses, I can never thank you enough for your warmth and kindness.

I was placed in a very difficult position in January this year having to place my mum into care, as with most people I was in turmoil as to whether I had made the correct decision and whether this was the best care home for my mum to go into. I visit the care home two to three times a week and watch the social media page eagerly to get some sense of happiness. I am comforted to be able to say what a great care home it is, how friendly the staff are from the nurses to the carers all doing amazing jobs with this extending to the management staff which I also give a huge thanks to. Not only do they care for my mum within the care home by putting on lots of events from discos to gardening, Valentine's Day functions and Chinese celebrations but they also treat her with huge respect. This also extends to day trips to visit other care homes and cultural excursions. Due to their hard work, I've been able to see a great sense of happiness and content in my mum feeling very safe relaxed and at ease now.

Our first experience was very welcoming from every member of the staff and professional. The staff asked questions regarding things my mum enjoyed doing, and her likes and dislikes. She was made to feel very comfortable and safe above everything. We feel as a family Mum has been treated with dignity and respect enabling her to keep her independence. Since the 8th of February, my mum's well-being has improved in a very positive way. Staff from all areas of the home are fantastic.

My friend is a resident in the care home. It is such a pleasure to come and visit her there, she is so happy, she is always busy. There is never a dull moment in the care home, she is either playing games with other residents or staff, some different activities and entertainment and she even learns some new dance moves. It's amazing to see how staff always try to include everyone. Staff are easy to talk to, genuine and caring. If the only way is a care home, then it should be Pitkerro Care Centre!
