Excellent interesting games, meals are perfect with good variety. Need trips out for shopping.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are pleased that your father is enjoying his time here. Once the weather improves and Covid permitting, we will be aiming to resume outdoor activities.
Kindest regards.
My mother was very happy there and well looked after, the staff were all very nice and polite. Also, she said the food was very good. All in all, she has no complaints. On her behalf, I would to thank you all for making her stay a very pleasant one in her 96th year.
Thank you for your lovely review, it was a pleasure to look after your mother, and we are so pleased she enjoyed her time with us. Best wishes to you both, kind regards.
Mum's stay coincided with a gap between managers. The staff were all friendly and helpful, but the home lacked leadership. In the circumstances, the staff did a really good job and remained professional. Well done to them.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your mother’s stay, and I am pleased to hear that our staff were able to provide such a welcoming and friendly environment. They will be really delighted to hear this feedback, as it plays such an important role in motivating our team. I am...
There is a hotel feel to the home - your wish is their command - with excellent hotel type food and staff as well as nursing care. I have no near relatives and take care of my own expenditure but I feel quite happy about this as I know there will be help and advice if I should request it (I am 92!).
I have spent 5 weeks recovering from an operation and have been well looked after.
Recently my aunt was 100-years-old. Previously made plans for a large family celebration were not possible due to covid-19. Pinewood offered to provide an afternoon real party for family members and this proved to be a most joyful occasion. Throughout her time at Pinewood, my aunt has always been shown a high level of patience, understanding and support, but on her very special day, the staff gave a commitment over and above their normal duties to provide a relaxed and memorable day for us all. The friendly warmth and care shown by the loyal staff ensure a sense of stability and security, with a strong bond being established between residents, staff and family. Management fully understands the needs of their residents and the need to communicate any concerns immediately to the family. Visitors are welcomed by smiling staff, and the whole ambience of Pinewood is one of care and comforting calm and peace.
If I could turn the clock back and have her return to Pinewood, I would. I'm eyeing up a place there for myself should the time ever come!
I enjoyed my stay very much and will consider Pinewood Residential Home if I need respite care again.
I found the staff at Pinewood to be well trained, sympathetic to my needs and understanding of my feelings. They were attentive and readily available. I felt secure and relaxed which helped my post-operative recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review about our staff, they really do appreciate your feedback and find it very motivating. I am pleased that we were able to provide a welcoming environment, along with a high standard of care during your stay with us.
I needed to place my father (97), who lives with me, in respite care for a short period to attend a family emergency in the UK. I was gratified that my request was met with speed and courtesy despite the short notice. Although my father could not be accommodated in a room with an ensuite shower (unsurprising in the circumstances) he was very happy with the care received. Many thanks for the assistance at a trying time.
My experience at Pinewood - it has been a privilege to be cared for by kind, compassionate staff. All areas, bedrooms, lounges, meals in the dining room and activities have been excellent. 10/10.
Provided an excellent service, in moving along the recuperation process, for an elderly lady who had recently had a 'total knee replacment' operation.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care given. The happy atmosphere is evident the moment you entre. The staff are consistently, genuinely friendly and go the extra mile to ensure residents have what they want.
I have recommended Pinewood to family and friends for respite care and as a permanent residence for those who require a happy and secure environment. The dining room and its menus are excellent, catering for the last-minute requirements of the residents. The activities programme is to be commended, and a hardworking hairdresser comes twice a week.
As family members, we felt that the manageress and staff were always available to talk to us about any concerns and made every effort to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.
We felt that Pinewood had the best interests of our mother in mind and wanted to care for their residents according to their individual characters and needs.
The home is bright and comfortable with nice size rooms. The staff are cheerful and very helpful. The meals are varied, well cooked and presented.
Staff are so good, as my friend was not well but nurses have been excellent. Could not fault the care home.
This is my second stay at Pinewood for postoperative care. I am pleased to say they are a pleasure to stay with and genuinely "tick every box!"
Many thanks for taking the time to complete the review which is greatly appreciated.
We are very pleased your second stay with us also met with your expectation and you are welcome to visit any time as we enjoyed your company
It has been fantastic and allowed me a great opportunity to recover.
The care is superb and the home is run very well making each resident stay a pleasure.
I will definitely return should I need it.
You are welcome to visit any time as we value your friendship.
Our GP said that the sign of a good care home was if the staff were happy in their work and if they remained employed there for long periods. Pinewood Residential Home certainly ticks both of those boxes. The staff and care could not be better.
Your positive feedback will be passed on to all the team.

Hi, I'm Jemma the Home Manager and I have worked at Pinewood since March 2023.

Sofia started her career with Pinewood as a Carer initially and is now working as a part-time Receptionist at Pinewood and has now been promoted to the Hospitality Service Manager and more recently taken on the role os Customer Relationship Manager - being the first point of contact for families searching for care for a loved one.
Sofia enjoys interacting with all the residents and their families. She particularly enjoys welcoming people into the Home, which she states provides her with great job satisfaction. Her people skills are excellent; we can understand why this role suited her very well. Sofia is very versatile and will put her hand to anything.
On a personal note, Sofia was born in Madeira and is a proud mother of two lovely children, a daughter aged 12, who enjoys dance and regularly attends Street Dancing classes, and at the end of the year, they put on a big show for parents and friends. Her son is 22, and he is currently at Oxford University studying to be a primary school teacher.
In her spare time, Sofia likes to go walking, watch documentaries and movies on TV and spend time with her family. A dedicated mother who puts every effort into her home life with family and her job. What we would call a real star!
Sofia is a reliable member of the team. We are very fortunate to have her working for us at Pinewood. She is a great asset to our team!

Istvan enjoys a very active life outside of the home with his love of skiing and fitness exercise. Istvan also enjoys watching Sporting events especially Formula One.
Istvan enjoys his role here at Pinewood and is an expert on nutrition and the wellbeing for all.

IIlidio has been working with us for 15 years. Born in Madeira, not only does he support our chefs in the kitchen with food preparation, but he will also support our maintenance manager with painting and decorating. A reliable member of the team and a great asset to the home.

Carlos is a great asset to the kitchen team; he works hard supporting the Chefs in the kitchen and ensuring that our equipment is sterile, and everything works in motion. Carlos was born in Madeira; he has been with us here at Pinewood for 6 years.
