As a family, we are all very happy with the care, kindness and respect that all members of Pinewood Residential Home show our gather. Every single person has been more than helpful and putting my brother, sister and myself at total ease about our much loved father being there. We never worry about how well he is being looked after, which is a great peace of mind.
She is very well cared for by the wonderful staff at Pinewood. She is treated with dignity and the staff encourage her to participate in daily activities which she now enjoys something she would never have done before. Although English is not her first language, she manages to get along with everyone.
The food is good, the menu changes daily and there is always an "own" choice on offer - you only have to ask! The lounges are well appointed and activities and entertainment are organised. Hairdressing and chiropody is available.
Both management and staff are attentive to residents needs and always have time to listen. I commend them for their total care.
Very lovely. Rooms very good. Dining room beautiful and grounds are well kept.
I went in for care after an invasive back operation. Staff were helpful and obliging - nothing was too much trouble. I would be happy to stay at Pinewood again if I needed to be looked after.
I was only there for a week but I was treated with dignity, well looked after by very caring staff. The food was out of this world. They could start a restaurant.
All the staff could not have been more caring, friendly and helpful during my respite care, post hospital.
Everything about my stay was wonderful. I shall be going back.
We were struck by the warm welcoming relaxed atmosphere in the home. The standard of caring was also impressive and nothing was too much trouble. The only negative aspect was sometimes the response time to calls for routine assistance were slow. In my parent's experience/judgment.
From the moment I discussed my mother residing in Pinewood I was extremely impressed with all aspects of the home. The manager is welcoming knowledgeable and reassuring. The residents rooms, lounges and dining room are furnished very well, are well maintained and always very clean. What really stands out is that the staff are always cheerful, helpful and very kind towards my mother and to us as her family.
I felt secure and well looked after. Very friendly and obliging staff. Food excellent, could not fault at all.
Pinewood has provided me with the perfect caring environment in which to recover from major surgery. I have spent the last two weeks being cared for being thoroughly pampered and made to feel very special on my journey to a full recovery. I cannot praise the manager and her team highly enough. All the staff whether in the nursing, catering or domestic departments are a credit to Pinewood and make it the top quality and very best of care homes that it undoubtedly is.
Went in for respite care and rehabilitation, found staff very helpful and encouraging.
Pinewood is a warm and friendly care home run to the highest standards. The wishes of individual resident are paramount which is important as most have lived full and independent lives. The staff are excellent right from the top down and there is very little change in staffing. This shows the high level of morale amongst all who work there. The food provided is of restaurant quality and resident have a great deal of choice.
The manager and all the staff at Pinewood, have made my fathers stay a delight. He was a little nervous about going but the kindness, care and special time he has had, he would gladly return. It has given all the family a good feeling and no worry about him being looked after, he has been made to feel very safe, secure and that is so important at his age of 84 years. He will be returning home with mixed feelings and I know, sad to leave, which says it all.

Meet the Team (5)

Hi, I'm Jemma the Home Manager and I have worked at Pinewood since March 2023.

Sofia started her career with Pinewood as a Carer initially and is now working as a part-time Receptionist at Pinewood and has now been promoted to the Hospitality Service Manager and more recently taken on the role os Customer Relationship Manager - being the first point of contact for families searching for care for a loved one.
Sofia enjoys interacting with all the residents and their families. She particularly enjoys welcoming people into the Home, which she states provides her with great job satisfaction. Her people skills are excellent; we can understand why this role suited her very well. Sofia is very versatile and will put her hand to anything.
On a personal note, Sofia was born in Madeira and is a proud mother of two lovely children, a daughter aged 12, who enjoys dance and regularly attends Street Dancing classes, and at the end of the year, they put on a big show for parents and friends. Her son is 22, and he is currently at Oxford University studying to be a primary school teacher.
In her spare time, Sofia likes to go walking, watch documentaries and movies on TV and spend time with her family. A dedicated mother who puts every effort into her home life with family and her job. What we would call a real star!
Sofia is a reliable member of the team. We are very fortunate to have her working for us at Pinewood. She is a great asset to our team!

Istvan enjoys a very active life outside of the home with his love of skiing and fitness exercise. Istvan also enjoys watching Sporting events especially Formula One.
Istvan enjoys his role here at Pinewood and is an expert on nutrition and the wellbeing for all.

IIlidio has been working with us for 15 years. Born in Madeira, not only does he support our chefs in the kitchen with food preparation, but he will also support our maintenance manager with painting and decorating. A reliable member of the team and a great asset to the home.

Carlos is a great asset to the kitchen team; he works hard supporting the Chefs in the kitchen and ensuring that our equipment is sterile, and everything works in motion. Carlos was born in Madeira; he has been with us here at Pinewood for 6 years.
