I hold a Master's degree in Healthcare Leadership and Chronic Disease Management, which underscores a commitment to excellence in the field of healthcare management.

My leadership style is centred around collaboration, continuous improvement and patient-centred care. By fostering strong communication within the team and implementing evidence-based practices, I ensure that every resident receives personalised and attentive care.

Throughout my career, I have successfully managed multiple healthcare teams and implemented innovative strategies to enhance residents' outcomes and staff satisfaction.

My name is Teena Thomas, and I am the Deputy Manager at Cheverton Lodge. I have been a nurse for over five years and have had the opportunity to work with the NHS, where I gained valuable experience in providing high-quality patient care. I joined Cheverton Lodge four months ago, and although it’s a different setting, I found it easy to adapt and quickly felt part of the team. Working here has allowed me to continue doing what I love most, caring for others and making a positive difference in people’s lives. I’m passionate about ensuring residents feel comfortable, respected, and well looked after. It’s been a rewarding journey so far, and I’m looking forward to growing further and continuing to contribute to the great work we do at Cheverton Lodge.

Dr Shoumik Choudhury is a practising NHS GP with over ten years’ experience as a fully qualified doctor. He provides medical care to residents at Cheverton Lodge Nursing Home on behalf of Northern Medical Centre and is a long-standing GP in the London Borough of Islington. His role includes managing routine and emergency clinics, on-call and out-of-hours services, developing clinical guidelines, and delivering weekly ward rounds at Cheverton Lodge Nursing Home.

Dr Choudhury has extensive experience in hospital medicine, including geriatric medicine, and maintains strong academic and research interests, having been selected for the highly competitive Academic Clinical Fellowship in Central London for his GP training.

He reviews residents on a weekly basis, working closely with nursing staff and allied healthcare professionals to address their ongoing clinical needs. He is an active participant in monthly multidisciplinary team meetings alongside the Integrated Community Ageing Team, including elderly care consultants, pharmacists, and mental health and occupational health specialists.

He has established strong working relationships with these colleagues over several years, enabling the development of bespoke management plans for patients with complex needs.

With a longstanding personal and professional interest in elderly care, shaped in part by being the son of a retired geriatrician and through his enjoyment of geriatric medicine placements, Dr Choudhury is particularly focused on holistic, patient centred care and the psychosocial dimensions of ageing medicine.

My name is Dee, and I am a Unit Manager here at Cheverton Lodge care home. I have been a nurse for 46 years and enjoy working in different hospitals and care homes. I joined the Barchester team in 2020, and I always try my best as a nurse. I strive to maintain a good relationship with residents, loved ones and colleagues. I aim to be a nurse for 50 years.

My name is Andreia, and I’m excited to be starting my journey in the care home industry. I joined the Barchester team in February 2025, and it’s been an absolute pleasure so far. The team has been incredibly kind and supportive, making me feel right at home. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the residents and their families, and each day brings new opportunities to connect and make a positive impact. I have been in the company since 2018.

Working in Cheverton Lodge has been a wonderful experience for me, and I have enjoyed working with our amazing residents and their relatives, as well as our special staff.

We are delighted to have Reyanna on our team at Cheverton Lodge.

I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and Social Care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, and the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person-centred to them.

I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, and piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton Lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

I have been working at Barchester since September last year, and it has truly been a rewarding and interesting journey. Throughout my time here, I have had the opportunity to contribute to a team dedicated to providing exceptional care, and it has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. With many years of hospitality experience, I am excited to bring my knowledge of customer service, communication, and creating positive experiences to Barchester.

I bring over 20 years of experience in IT, combined with a hands-on approach developed from assisting my mechanic father.

My expertise in troubleshooting and fixing a wide range of issues makes me an invaluable asset to our team. Having transitioned from property maintenance to Barchester, I am eager to embrace new challenges and contribute to our dynamic team. My unique blend of technical skills and practical experience ensures that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

Novelette joined Cheverton Lodge in October 2001 as a Healthcare Assistant and has continued to develop her skills and vocation further and is now a senior carer. Novelette love's to support residents and her team and is passionate about delivering holistic healthcare to residents.

Tahmina joined to Cheverton Lodge in 2022 as health care assistant and has continued to develop her knowledge and became the dementia champion in 2023 . Tahmina has a special interest in supporting those living with dementia and ways on continually improving the care and experience of people living with dementia at Cheverton Lodge. Tahmina completed Tier 2 dementia training and attends the dementia champion training sessions on a regular basis.
