My father moved in six months ago and he is happy at Barchester Cheverton Lodge Care Home. The staff look after him very well and see to his every need. My mother visits him several times a week and is always welcomed and treated with respect. The standards of cleanliness are high and he even enjoys
the food and used to be a fussy eater! We have no hesitation in recommending Cheverton.

Staff are friendly, helpful, our relative is always happy, clean, well shaven, his room is always clean, very happy. He has lots of activities to do in the day, always someone to talk to. Staff are supportive to us and always happy to help, it's like a little family. The care home is of a high standard,
we have looked at others in the past and when we visited this one, we knew straight away this was perfect. They have a lovely garden, cafe part, can't fault this care home, we're lucky we found Barchester Cheverton Lodge Care Home. We would recommend to others.

We are very happy with the care that our brother is receiving at Barchester Cheverton Lodge Care Home. He has become a much happier and content person since being here. He has a lovely ensuite room and enjoys watching his TV and his meals, the food does look lovely!

Good and welcoming reception area and receptionist showed a well-organised care home.
Guest's have a very clean and spacious dining and lounge, TV area.
Also, a large room opening onto a small garden allows for friends and family to celebrate lunch or similar events with the residents.

When I come I always see my friend looking well kempt, clean and tidy, hair looked after etc. All her needs, snacks, drinks etc are to hand, easily accessible for her. The staff treat her with respectful friendliness, but give her the high degree of support that she needs.

I really appreciated the excellent nursing care she received at Barchester Cheverton Lodge Care Home. The team were outstanding! I felt I could relax knowing she was cared for with such kindness and dignity. We have fond memories of visiting her, especially in the last few weeks of her life. She said,

I always enjoy my visits to Barchester Cheverton Lodge Care Home, from the welcoming reception and the staff who always remember who I am seeing. My dear friend is very well cared for and I enjoy taking them into the lovely gardens, weather allowing and sometimes I join in with her in one of the activities,
such as local history, singing and seated dance. I recommend this Cheverton, it really is a home-from-home.

I visited a couple of care homes in the community and Barchester Cheverton Lodge Care Home was one of them. I liked the feeling when I visited, space, brightness when I visited.
Dad moved in in December 2023 and has taken a few weeks to adjust. He does enjoy it there and the staff have adapted to his
ways. I would like to thank the nurse, the senior carer and all the staff for their patience over the last few months with Dad.
Dementia is not an easy condition and I have lived with seeing the changes, it is so different for everyone and they cope incredibly.

My elderly sister has just become a resident at Cheverton Lodge and four days after Christmas, she celebrated her 84th birthday at a lunch party for family and friends hosted by the care home in one of its elegant, intimate, dining rooms. The food was delicious and much enjoyed by all in a very relaxed
atmosphere. We hope this will be a sign of things to come for my sister as she adapts to full-time care.

I assisted my sister-in-law to move to this care home in 2015. It had been recommended by one of my carers at her home. My sister-in-law's care has been fantastic and she settled and I think was happy here. During the pandemic, the precautions were excellent and there was plenty of information from
Barchester.
Also, a lot of the staff got to know her over the years.

It was a difficult decision to place my dad in a care home, but there was no other choice. Once we arrived at Cheverton Lodge, from reception to first-floor staff, everyone was so kind and welcoming. He had first-class care the whole time, his needs were attended to the whole time, and I could see that
my dad was comfortable, eating well and kept clean. I would highly recommend. We had an amazing experience!

Mum was well cared for in Cheverton Lodge where she lived for nearly 21 months. The nursing and the care staff are extremely professional and always friendly and helpful. The reception staff have a much appreciated welcoming smile.
The caring, kind, and compassionate care that Mum received meant a
lot to her and it made her end of life journey as peaceful, calm, and pain-free as possible.
A big thank you to all, in particular the excellent nursing and care staff, involved in looking after Mum.
A couple of observations - perhaps it might be more beneficial for an individual resident to have consistent care, as far as possible, from a nominated staff member (rather than rotating care staff). This is because the care is of an intimate and personal nature and maintaining mutual trust and understanding between the resident and the carer is vital for the resident’s dignity and respect.
Also, provision of more varied and culturally appropriate diet/food should be considered.

I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and Social Care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, and the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person-centred to them.


I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, and piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton Lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

I bring over 20 years of experience in IT, combined with a hands-on approach developed from assisting his mechanic father. My expertise in troubleshooting and fixing a wide range of issues makes me an invaluable asset to our team. Having transitioned from property maintenance to Barchester, I am eager to embrace new challenges and contribute to our dynamic team. My unique blend of technical skills and practical experience ensures that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

Novelette joined Cheverton Lodge in October 2001 as a Healthcare Assistant and has continued to develop her skills and vocation further and is now a senior carer. Novelette love's to support residents and her team and is passionate about delivering holistic healthcare to residents.

Job Title: Carer and Dementia Champion Joined: 2022

Tahmina joined to Cheverton Lodge in 2022 as health care assistant and has continued to develop her knowledge and became the dementia champion in 2023 . Tahmina has a special interest in supporting those living with dementia and ways on continually improving the care and experience of people living with dementia at Cheverton Lodge. Tahmina completed Tier 2 dementia training and attends the dementia champion training sessions on a regular basis.
