Anchor’s Silk Court, in the heart of Bethnal Green, is a purpose-built home supporting up to 51 older people to live a comfortable lifestyle, as well as specialising in dementia care.

The home provides a range of residential care services, including convalescence care; respite care; trial stays and long-term care for those who can no longer look after themselves.

The care team get to know customers and work with them to organise stimulating activities which match individual and group interests, both in the care home as well as in the local community. Each customer’s individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure their care plans meet their lifestyle requirements.

Meals are cooked using fresh, locally sourced and seasonal ingredients where possible by a highly trained Chef Manager and kitchen staff.

Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

I chose this home with my father. He has dementia but responded to Silk Court, where other homes he actively took against.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It is spacious, light and clean and there is a good choice of areas for residents to go to. They can move between floors and choose
which lounge to go to, find a quiet spot or choose to be with other residents. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere. I feel my father is safe and well cared for.
There is an open door policy about visiting. You can go at any time of day or evening and be welcome, make yourself a cup of tea. I feel very comfortable when I am there. I enjoy getting to know the staff and some of the other residents too. The food is mostly good but could be a bit more varied and interesting sometimes. That's the only less than a hundred percent positive I would say. I think it is an excellent home.

The care in Silk Court it exemplary. The resident that I visit is very content and happy, the care they are provided with is excellent, they are well looked after and cared for. I cannot fault any aspect of the care at Silk Court.

My mother seems very happy I am very happy with the help that the staff give my mum and one to one feeding her and bathing and her general welfare. The home is very clean and well maintained inside and out. Her medical care is very good too and my overall outlook is that the staff are all very committed

I've been visiting my friend and good gym coach for 2 months and have been very impressed with the staff. Polite, caring, encouraging and patient are all words that spring to mind. They provide a great service.

Mum was here on her 3rd respite visit. Staff seem very caring and activities keep her entertained and busy which she loves. Food is good and rooms are clean. Well done! When collected and totally unprompted or questioned, she volunteered the following to staff in front of me. "I've been very happy here".
This is a wonderful testament to the staff and also reassuring for me. She willingly hugs staff when saying 'hello' and 'goodbye'. I have total confidence in leaving Mum in Silk Court's care. Staff are very patient.
