My mother is calmer, well fed, well presented at all times. Low turnover of key staff means I feel they are more trustworthy and my mum is more familiar with them. I would be happier if my mum could be taken outside more but I know this is difficult due to the severity of her condition.

All the Uplands Care Team have always been very caring, efficient and highly attentive when looking after my father. At all times they've informed my family and me about my father's care. The Uplands Care Team are like family to my father and the other residents, they all have an extremely good bond.
They supported and cared for my father during his illness and until his sad death. I miss my father very much and the Uplands Care Team too. Thank you Uplands Care Team for all your help and caring for my father over the years he was there and when my mother was there too. Your tremendous work and good efforts are greatly appreciated by me and my family.

My mother had been a resident of Uplands Care Home since August 2015.
At the end of her life in February 2020, the professional team of nurses and carers treated her with the utmost care, kindness, respect and dignity.
They also provided substantial support for and showed compassion and kindness
to her children and relatives during a very difficult time.
Her end-of-life plan was followed according to our wishes, thus allowing our mother a dignified, comfortable and peaceful passing in her own room at the care home.
I would like to sincerely thank the home manager, deputy manager, nurses, carers, administrative and laundry staff for the excellent care and extensive support they provided to my mother and us, her family.

The staff at Uplands have been so kind. Sadly my Uncle, who was a resident at Uplands for 4 years, passed at the end of October. We were given lots of love, care and support in the clearing of his room and were able to start his funeral from the home. The whole family appreciate this very much.

My wife and I have regularly visited our friend from March 2018 until August 2019 during which time the staff looked after him to the best of their ability. We were always warmly welcomed by all the staff and enjoyed many helpful conversations with them.
We felt that the care home was well maintained
throughout. We wish to express our grateful thanks to the staff for the care they gave to our friend over the 18 months he was with you.

I visited my mother with my wife. We were both welcome and invited to visit often, however, we live abroad and could only stay for the day. Everything we encountered on that day was more than adequate and suitable since some residents require a little more attention. However, the general feeling was
relaxed and very transparent. The feature of phoning using the internet was a very good initiative...however, after having made a successful couple of calls this was not maintained by the staff and I gave up after several unsuccessful attempts to make contact using Skype. I will try again soon. The main thing to keep in mind is that this is a care home capable of caring for dementia residents. This was noticeable on my visit as the general noise levels were high from one person in particular who as mentioned by other reviewers was wandering around rooms, just curious and not in any way unruly or rude just loud and incoherent.

The Uplands care home is truly a wonderful home. Since my father came here in September 2018. The care and compassion showed to him have been totally amazing. Staff are always willing to help, courteous, polite and tends to all my father's needs. Myself, I could not ask for anything more. Thank you

Uplands Care Home was just the right care home for my 3+ month respite after a large operation and to support me while I got used to chemotherapy. My digestion was very challenged and the care the kitchen staff took to provide individual meals was impressive, not only for myself but for many others
with cultural differences. I am not used to winters in England and I was so happy to be warm and cosy in a beautiful little room with convenient ensuite that I don't have at home and such friendly and caring staff.

My uncle came to live in Uplands Care Home after 7 months in hospital. He received very good care and although totally bedridden and needing to be turned every few hours he experienced no bed sores (as he had in hospital). He gained weight and enjoyed his tea and cake although my uncle wasn't always
easy to look after as he didn't accept he needed to be in a nursing home and insisted he could look after himself at home.

This care home was welcoming and encouraged family/relatives to visit residents. Welcome and greeting were both warm and professional. Resident's rooms and communal eating/leisure areas were clean.
Staff treat patients with care and dignity. The only problem I noticed was that my uncle was not protected
from a mentally ill woman resident who would enter his room uninvited and who could be violent.
Staff were kind when my uncle sadly died, sending flowers and attending his funeral.

My mother was a resident of Uplands for more than five years. She was always treated with warmth and affection and Uplands was a place she felt safe. Her personal and medical needs were always addressed and staff were responsive to our questions and concerns. When mum passed away recently, we felt that

My mother was well looked after particularly the sparing use of morphine. There were times when I thought she was thirsty but mostly she was well attended to. The day staff were unfailingly great.

From the first day to now, totally impressed with my mother's care. She is changed and fed 3-4 times daily, hair done once a week, entertainment if she wants it, food is varied from day to day. Staff are always kind and helpful, always ready to answer questions. The manageress runs the home with love
and care, her work ethic is impressive which filters out to all that work for her. Thank you Uplands.

My mother was at Uplands for just a few days, however, she was able to find tranquillity, so as to then be able to make her transition peacefully. The staff were all genuinely caring and knowing that my mother was not at a hospital anymore and was comfortable in her new 'home', was perfect and reassuring
in every way.

Overall standard good.
The staff are kind and caring and are considerate to the residents' needs.
