My niece and I visited my cousin today and we were very impressed with everything in the home. Lovely, helpful carers, pleasant staff and a really pleasant sitting room looking out on the garden, where my cousin enjoys seeing the birds and squirrels!

My mum was in St Vincents House for just over five weeks. During this time, each and every member of staff provided the best care and showed kindness throughout. It was very fortunate that my Mum was placed here during the last few remaining weeks of her life. I have nothing but praise for this establishment.

I received a warm and friendly greeting when I visited the care home to consider it for respite for my father.
The staff member put me at ease and was able to answer all my questions. When I went to finalise the paperwork, I also met with another senior staff member who was also friendly, courteous and again responded to any questions.
The day my father was admitted to the care home, the unit manager called and confirmed his safe arrival.

My father himself spoke very positively about the staff and his stay at the care home, which convinced me that I made the right decision to place him at St Vincent's for respite. I would recommend St Vincent's without hesitation.

My mother was transferred to St Vincents House when discharged from hospital and it became evident she needed more care than we could provide at home. We chose St Vincents House based on a visit, reading reviews and the CQC report. My mother and the family were welcomed and although we were all heartbroken at not being able to keep her at home, the care shown by the staff reassured us and they were mindful at how difficult we found the transition. There have been a few minor issues but they are usually dealt with quickly. There is a great range of activities for the residents and the staff always encourage the residents to take part. Since my mother has been there we have had two family celebrations and on both occasions one staff member in particular and their team have gone above and beyond to make these special. There is always someone on reception to welcome us when we visit.

My mother has been a resident at St. Vincents House Care Home for the last seven weeks, I could not have asked for a better place for her to stay, on arrival, you are always greeted with a warm welcome from reception.

All the staff (every single one of them) I have meet are caring, professional and kind to myself, family and my mother, her room is spotless, clean and tidy, her clothes always washed and ironed, hanging in her wardrobe, mum is always clean and beautifully turned out, mum had lost a lot of weight due to a stay in hospital, since being in St. Vincents she has now started to eat more and is gaining weight, the staff are very patient with her and make sure she's eating and drinking enough. The entertainment and activities, well what can I say, the resident's love it, (me included) I've never seen so many happy smiling faces in one room, everyone signing along to the music, it's great, thank you so much, mum loves a sing song. Big thank you to all at St. Vincents.

My mum, who has dementia, settled in quickly. The management and daily staff are exceptionally caring and professional. They are aware of what she likes, and the daily activities are very much enjoyed by Mum and the residents.

The building is well-maintained. There are various activity rooms and a delightful garden. Her private room is an adequate size with an en-suite bathroom. The building is in a fantastic location with riverside restaurants and cafes literally within a few minutes walk.

Service at the home is satisfactory to good as usual. Only one ongoing problem remains in the room toilet, which is the actual toilet lid keeps falling down and won't stay up. This has been a problem for a long while and needs fixing.

For six months, my loved one was in St Vincents care home. Whilst he has dementia (onset), he was also end of life patient. It has been an experience and privilege for me to spend so much time at the care home. The medical staff/carers (really all staff) there showed me what it means, always remembering it's the illness that's the issue - not the man or woman in front of them. The caring, professional, kind, thoughtful staff here doing demanding, even exhausting work. Their unconditional love, their tender approach with patience, entering into their world and never giving up. The lovely cup of tea by humorous staff, their smiles would help me cope when end of life came two weeks ago. The professionalism, caring, thoughtful, considerate carers made my journey simpler. Thanks to all at St Vincents House care home.

My mother was admitted for short-term respite care and immediately there are issues with unfriendly management. They call the police unnecessarily. The Resident was not given any right to just cancel service and leave. Mobile phone lost and can’t be found, yet not even added to the inventory list.

My partner has been at St Vincents for approximately three years. When she was at the hospital, the team looking after asked me to check out St Vincents for suitability. I liked the home. She was transferred there shortly after. I'm very happy with the care home. The right choice was made.

Having not visited my sister for 18-months (pandemic related), my wife and I arrived at St Vincents with more than a little trepidation, after the many horror stories out there in this new world of social media. We shouldn’t have worried. The check-in process was simple, well managed and efficient. My sister was as well as we could have expected. Her room was clean and tidy, but her hoarding instincts were still evident! Nonetheless, her room was bright and cheerful with a fine view over a garden and skyline.

What really struck me was how friendly, professional and full of cheer every member of staff was that we met. Clearly, this is not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination, but even if they were under stress, pressure or overworked, they didn’t show it. My sister, like many residents, struggle with confinement, loss of freedom and social interaction. It seemed like St Vincents staff were doing their best to make life a little more pleasant and tolerable.
