My mother started to crochet by herself.

It will take time for her to learn the stitch but she's doing it by herself which is very good.

I am a retired R C Priest in care after right hip surgery. I find conditions here to my complete satisfaction. The room assigned me suits me and is to my satisfaction. The caregivers look after me very well and I could not expect more of the nursing staff day and night. I am full of admiration for the spirit of dedication and service of the entire staff towards all the residents who can at times be annoying. Staff make sure that I am warm and sufficiently fed. I am grateful to them.

Due to dads physical care needs, he doesn't join in with the programme activities however I have observed and it is excellent.
My dad's physical condition was a point where my mum and I didn't recognise him since coming to St Vincents House he has been assessed medications reduced and even converses with us.

Lovely friendly environment.

St Vincents House has many facilities on site, however, due to my mum's condition, she is unable to use the as much as others. I decided to bring Mum to St Vincents House as she has grown up in the area and wanted her to continue to have contacts with locals. It's a lovely residential area and the layout of the home has a private feel to it, as well as a warm community environment. Other relatives will visit my Mum and I have been able to talk to them personally and not feeling alone as they are going through the same.

The staff are friendly and always smiling. They address my mum by her name and seemed to know her soon after she moved in. Everyone is spotless - cleanliness is superb. The food always looks yummy too!! Any requests made to staff are always done immediately - they are all so helpful.

My mother has been in St Vincents for nearly 8 years now. In that time she has been cared for and looked after really well. There have been times when I have felt very sad about my mum's declining health and the staff have also supported me. The staff at St Vincents always take care to inform me of my mum's health and listen to me when I suggest things regarding her. Mum feels safe and secure where she is. I really couldn't ask for more than that.

Meet the Team (1)

Kerry Reyes
Kerry ReyesJob Title:Home Manager

I'm very proud that I started my career as a Nurse at St Vincent's House and have worked my way to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager.

Care UK is excellent at seeing the potential in colleagues and supporting them to develop their skills and expertise.

The team at St Vincent's House is very close-knit and hardworking. We support each other to do our best for residents and their families. There's always a lot to juggle each day. In my role I tackle anything from recruiting new team members to supporting colleagues with training, getting to grips with new policies and procedures, and liaising with relatives.

What I do is only possible with the support of our amazing team. They never cease to surprise me with their dedication and passion for what they do.
