I have always found the staff to be very professional, friendly and helpful. I have visited the home on many occasions over the last year and have always found the staff to be very professional and respectful towards my godfather. I have also been very impressed with the way the home always looks clean and tidy and this has always been commented on by anyone I have taken with me on my visits.

My mum has been in Windmill Lodge since January this year. I am very pleased with the care she receives from all the staff. It is spotlessly clean and she is always clean and tidy. My one complaint is there is not enough staff, especially at the weekends. The staff do their very best but really can’t cut themselves in half. With more staff, the home would be perfect

My sister was in another home and the quality of care was very bad. Her social worker recommended Windmill Lodge, I came to check the home and I met the management and the staff they were very welcoming and passionate. My sister loves it there.

Thank you for all you do.

Great management and staff, they showed optimum care as well as support, proper hygiene, a receptive environment and efficient and effective safety and security for residents. Thanks, Windmill Lodge Care Home for all you do.

Management is never available. They seem to spend their working days consistently in meetings and information is not shared and conveyed between staff as it should be. They do not do what they say they are going to do and there seems to be a practice of untruth. Residents are left in their beds and only dressed when they are having visitors to give the impression that they are dressed every day. Residents are being left with unbrushed teeth and inadequate hygiene care. The telephones are hardly ever answered and you can be left standing at the entrance door for ages as the receptionist appears to be run ragged with other duties, which gives the impression of a business who are short of staff or miss managed. I really feel sorry for the residents based on my experience thus far and can't wait until our loved one is relocated.

Since my mum moved in they have been amazing, she has been there since November and I can’t honestly thank them enough for what they do from the receptionist to the carers, all the staff are amazing, incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. Mum has settled in beautifully and has made friends. They keep in contact with me and update me regularly on Mum couldn’t ask for better care.

My mum has been a resident at Windmill Lodge for over 2 years. I’m very happy and pleased with the care my mum receives in this care home and the support I have been given throughout these difficult years (because of COVID). All the staff are very helpful, friendly and patient with my mum (because of her dementia, my mum forgot the English language). They are amazing people, I can’t thank them enough.

When talking about Windmills' excellence, it is important to acknowledge the great work and care provided by all staff on site. Windmill goes above and beyond to look after and support their residents. I without a doubt would recommend them to everyone. I always know my mother is well taken care of. Every member of staff from the manager, carers, nurses, and domestic staff are professional, polite, and friendly. Their care always has a personal touch and the staff have formed a great rapport with my family and I. My mum is comfortable and loves her environment.

My mother was taken into Windmill Lodge Care Home straight from the hospital in March 2020 during the pandemic. We, as a family were extremely concerned as we were unable to view the home, or any other home because of COVID-19. We needn’t have worried as the Manager gave us a virtual tour. All the staff from the front desk to the nurses and care staff are extremely polite, friendly and professional and Mum is being well cared for.

My mother has been a resident at Windmill Lodge for over 8 years following a stroke. In that time she has received excellent care and understanding.
As her only child not living locally, my wife and I imagined we would ask for her to be moved nearer to our home. However, to take her away from a place where she feels safe and is well cared for would be a crime.
During the pandemic, the Monthly Relatives Zoom meetings have been reassuring and informative, along with the video calls with my mother.

As always I am very grateful to all the staff at Windmill Lodge for the caring professional approach they show to the residents and visitors.

My experience of this home has been nothing but extremely positive. My uncle was brought here in December 2019 and has been looked after amazingly by the team and quite recently, my aunt (his sister) has needed to have 24-hour care and there was nowhere better for her than Windmill Lodge. My faith in them is so high as they are just brilliant at what they do and I know she will get the best care and in the first three days already, the dedication and care she has been given, (specifically by one carer in particular,) has been phenomenal. At a time where you cannot be with your loved ones, I am so reassured that they are in loving, caring hands. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants love, care, compassion for their loved ones. A big thank you to the manager - such a lovely, wonderful and caring lady. If I could give 20 out of 10, I would. Well done everyone.

My aunt entered Windmill Lodge 3 years ago and passed away on 15/8/20 at the age of 101. Suffering from extreme dementia and limited mobility, my wife and I feel she could not have received any better treatment and care than that received at Windmill Lodge. The staff were always polite and showed much patience with her, which in turn, meant she was as relaxed and contented as she could be. The skill and dedication of all the staff is superbly reflected in the care home's success in the battle with Covid 19 - well done to everyone involved.

The Manager displayed great empathy. She was flexible, considerate, and highly professional. The home is an extremely welcoming environment. It is spotlessly clean and well organised and presented. The staff were very helpful and lovely. The garden was beautiful. All efforts were made by staff and management to provide us with a safe and enjoyable visit despite COVID-19 and all its obstacles. This is a great home. Well done all!

This home is poorly managed, complaints are poorly managed especially when it comes to abusive nurses or when my grandmother has been promised work done to her room and it has still not been done nearly a year later. The food has always been poor quality which leaves my grandmother paying for ready meals which are not deducted from her monthly outgoings. My grandmother deserves better.
