My mother started living at Adelaide at the end of July. From the very start of her stay, she has been cared for by all members of staff, and they are so kind and helpful. Before Adelaide, mum was living on her own and could not cope. It's so comforting to know mum is now happy and cared for by so well. The home is so clean, the food looks lovely, and mum is kept clean at all times. We cannot thank Adelaide enough for making us all so happy and for everything they have done to make the move so easy.

My husband has dementia and is bedbound. Adelaide has been his home since January this year. I visit almost every day, and I couldn't wish for better care for him. All the staff are incredible and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are kind, friendly, caring and professional. The nursing staff always keep me up to date with his care. Knowing he is safe and well cared for is a huge comfort, as moving someone you love into a care home is a difficult decision. I highly recommend Adelaide. Thank you all.

Mum was happy and settled during her time at Adelaide, from arriving during Covid restrictions, where the dedicated staff did their very best to accommodate her and us to visit when possible. Mum was treated with kindness, compassion and loved by all the wonderful staff who loved and cared for her and who made us feel very welcome when we visited and gave us the time to share any questions we needed. The dignity and compassion shown to Mum and the support and sympathy to us towards and during Mum's peaceful passing, we are so grateful for and will always remember.

Mum went to Adelaide Care Home for respite care. She stayed for just over four months. During this time she was very happy. All the staff were very kind, caring and professional. They always kept us up to date/informed about mum's health. If I had any concerns about mum's health they were very attentive and got the appropriate professionals involved. As a family, we had complete peace of mind that mum's welfare was being looked after. They organised everything including medication. Thank you so much Adelaide we have no qualms about putting mum into the home as a permanent resident when the times comes.

My mum was looked after at Adelaide Care Home for almost 3 years until she passed away in December 2024. I cannot fault the care and kindness she received during her battle with dementia. Thank you to all the staff for your professionalism, and also for the care and support you gave my dad on his daily visits to Mum, which always left him with a smile and comfort on the hardest of days.

My husband has advanced Alzheimer's and moved into Adelaide Care Home in April 2024. The management and nursing staff caring for my husband have been first-class. The staff treat my husband with the utmost care and dignity. He is always clean and happy when I go to visit him regularly. I'm also kept well informed by the nursing staff of my husband's well-being. Choosing a care home for a loved one is always a difficult decision. My husband has settled very well and the staff are friendly and caring, nothing is too much trouble. I am pleased I made the right decision in choosing Adelaide as my husband's new home.

I was very pleased that there was a room available when my brother was discharged from hospital, as he had been very happy when he had been in the Adelaide for respite care in September. He is now well settled into his new home and enjoying life. He is looking very well.

My sister has dementia and has been in Adelaide Care Home for 9 weeks. The care she has received has been exceptional, all the staff are kind and caring. My sister and myself are welcomed to the many activities organised daily at the home with a cup of coffee. Although Mum only had a short time at Adelaide Care Home, I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and compassion shown towards Mum. She had dementia and wasn't easy all the time, so I also have to thank them for their patience. I would highly recommend Adelaide to anyone facing the heartbreak of letting a loved one go into residential care. Thank you all.

My mum has been in Adelaide House for just over two years. She has been looked after very well, although she can be trying at times. The carers are very good to her and understand her needs. Adelaide House is very homely, clean and comfortable. It also has a lovely large enclosed garden with a pond. They have activities to keep the residents occupied, but Mum usually prefers to nap. The food is good and Mum eats very well. Overall I am very happy with Adelaide House.

My dad was admitted for a two week respite period. The initial admission process was swift, professional and reassuring. They even extended it by a week at very short notice without any fuss. The home is fine but not super flashy. The care given by all staff is wonderful, supportive, caring, passionate and kind to residents and families alike. They showed so much affection for my dad and concern for my mum. Faultless stay.

The people who work at Adelaide are lovely and update my brother and I on our uncle's condition. He is well-cared for which we are extremely grateful for. I was very worried about my uncle before he became a resident of Adelaide as he was getting very forgetful at his home and was a danger to himself but now I don't feel any worry since he became a resident at Adelaide as I know he is being looked after. He always looks clean, and shaven and his room is very comfortable, clean and warm. The staff are very welcoming to me and there is always someone to answer my questions. Before my uncle's dementia deteriorated significantly he did say he would like to talk with people more. I raised this with Adelaide who said they will make sure he is talked to. They did ask him to come and join in the tea gatherings and other social activities but said he wanted to stay in his room quite a bit. The staff do care about the residents from my experience. I would recommend Adelaide!

Hello, my name is Shiella, and I am delighted to be the General Manager here at Adelaide.

I joined the home in 2016, bringing with me over 20 years of experience within the healthcare sector. Within this time, I have developed my skills and knowledge by achieving qualifications including Higher Diploma in Nursing and Diploma in Leadership. Working in both residential and nursing settings, prior to joining Adelaide, my previous role as Deputy Manager, where I have gained valuable skills that help me to succeed today.

I have shared many treasurable moments with the staff and residents I have had the pleasure to meet over the years. One moment that I will cherish throughout my career was when I was gifted some lovely flowers from both residents and my team to say thank you for all the support I had given towards them. It was a beautiful moment full of kinds words and love.

I would best describe myself as someone who loves to try new things, very passionate about my work and a team player. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, visiting historic places and meeting new people, which I have the pleasure to do every day.

Avery Healthcare, owners of Adelaide, best stands out for the environment they create. It’s a place where you feel like you belong, and everyone is treated with respect. And Adelaide is no different. Our home is unique for its beautifully landscaped gardens that cater for everyone. There is always something to do in there, whether that be planting some crops for our culinary teams or soaking up the sun on a summer’s day.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Adelaide community.
