My mum was a resident at Adelaide Care Home for only three short months. In that time, she was well looked after and genuinely cared for. The staff on my mum's wing, went over and above to look after her and also to look out for me. Nothing was too much trouble. They genuinely care for their residents. They work tirelessly, in a challenging environment and not just carers and nurses, but all the staff, the admin staff, the cleaners and maintenance. You only need to ask and a job is done. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

From the moment we walked through the door we were met with warmth and friendliness. The care and commitment to patients and their relatives was obvious and so reassuring. To know that kindness and respect are at the forefront of each and every one of the wonderful staff is so very important, and at last, I feel safe in the knowledge that my loved one will be extremely well cared for at this extremely important stage of his life.

If there are ever any health issues with my dad I am always kept up to date. I'm always reassured by visiting Adelaide. There is a very happy and jovial atmosphere. Everyone puts the residents at the heart of their efforts. My dad I know is in the best place to meet his needs, healthwise, emotionally and mentally.

Mum has been in Adelaide Care Home for 23 months now, and I have never once had any reason to complain about her care. The staff are all friendly/approachable. Seeing the difference in Mum for having the 24-hour care she needs is some comfort as no loved one wants to see another struggle. Mum always looks clean/hydrated, and comfortable. I am very happy with her care.

The staff have been amazing especially throughout the lockdown when it was not possible to see my friend. They always go the extra mile to help you and make you feel welcome. They look after my friend very well and all of his needs day or night. His special dietary requirements are always catered for. All of the staff are very friendly, caring and helpful. Highly recommended.

My father has been a resident in Adelaide for more than 4 years. The care level is excellent. All staff are so kind, professional, and compassionate. I can not fault this home in any way. My dad has complex medical needs and after a bad experience at another home, I really didn’t think my dad would live for long, but the staff at Adelaide work very hard to adapt to each resident’s individual needs. Not being able to visit dad during the pandemic was hard for me and my mum but knowing that he was receiving the best possible care, really did put our minds at rest. The job they do at Adelaide is extremely challenging but all staff including nurses, carers, cleaners, and administration and support staff continue to go above and beyond my expectations. I regularly recommend this home to others who are going through the painful process of finding the best possible home for loved ones.

My experience with Adelaide Care Home has been nothing but professional, caring, and a relief that my mum will be looked after here. After a bad experience with a home, Adelaide has been the light at the end of the tunnel. I can't fault it in any way and my mum is the happiest she has been for a long time. I would highly recommend it.

Our mother is received first-class care. She suffers from both dementia and diabetes, and therefore, has complex medical and social care needs. The staff have been both attentive and professional in their consideration of her needs. Since arriving at Adelaide, there has been a perceptible improvement in her physical capabilities and emotional well-being. We cannot commend the care and medical teams high enough; they have made her feel comfortable and welcome in her new home, and they are always available to support her when the need arises.

From our first discrete visit, and although the physical location of the home is not great, we were impressed with how clean it was. Communicating with the management was easy and pleasant, and the actual care staff were delightful and highly competent. Internally the home is spotless, and my mum was cared for extremely well by lovely people. A member of staff was even present with my dear mum when her time came. We are forever in their debt for the professionalism and kindness with which they operate.

My old friend spent her last two years in Adelaide. She was in the latter stages of dementia and passed away in April 2021. The care and compassion shown to my friend were exceptional, the staff were happy to talk about her needs and requirements. Initially, she would be washed and dress, then "hoisted" to a wheelchair enabling her to go to the lounge and "see" other residents. As things deteriorated, she became bed-bound, but staff would talk to her and feed her. She wasn't the easiest of people to help and had a challenging nature, but the staff employed patience and understanding, and more often, even managed to get a smile from her!

The care my lovely mother-in-Law received from all the staff at Adelaide Care Home, was outstanding, caring, compassionate and nothing was too much. She loved them. We can't recommend them highly enough. From the day my mother-in-law arrived until she passed away two years later, we were comforted by such an amazing team from every department. Each time we would visit we were welcomed. Such a wonderful atmosphere even at difficult times in the Dementia Nursing Unit. Lovely well kept rooms, clean clothes, exceptional food menu, quiet rooms made available for visits if needed. Dignity always a priority. We were always kept up to date and no matter how much we called it was never a problem. Extra special mention to the amazing team on the Dementia Care Unit.

My mum spent her last two years at Adelaide and received outstanding care and support from all of the staff. More recently during the Covid crisis family were unable to visit and the staff effectively became her family during the lockdown period. She sadly passed away recently but I know she would want to thank the staff for their care and dedication throughout this time. It was very much appreciated both by her and our family. Thank you.

My mother was in Adelaide Care Home for three months. The care she received was wholly inadequate. Her room was old and shabby with no shower. She was very distressed whilst she was here, and her care needs were not met.

My father-in-law was transferred here in November from hospital. He received a warm welcome on arrival. Nothing has been too much trouble from the very start. The staff and management are kind and helpful. All his needs are met. His room is clean and comfortable. There are always members of staff available at all times, and visitors are always welcomed. Kindness and concern is shown to us as a family. All our questions have been answered. We are also confident that he is looked after when we are not there.

My mother and father came to this care home in March 2019 as by that stage of their lives they both needed a great deal of care.
I was very impressed from word go by the professionalism, dedication and kindness of all of the staff.
I found that my mother was encouraged to get up and get dressed and she would eat her lunch with father in the dining area.

As the year progressed there was opportunity to get out into the beautiful garden, something which mother and father really enjoyed. We held a party for father's birthday in a lovely meeting room (the cinema room), which comfortably accommodated several members of the family visiting. The activities on offer are excellent and change on a daily basis. The home caters for a person's spiritual needs also, with close involvement from Christ Church who offer monthly communion services. When my mother died in July and then father in October the staff were quite excellent in all aspects of care needed at this time.

Shiella DaviesJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2016

Hello, my name is Shiella, and I am delighted to be the General Manager here at Adelaide.

I joined the home in 2016, bringing with me over 20 years of experience within the healthcare sector. Within this time, I have developed my skills and knowledge by achieving qualifications including Higher Diploma in Nursing and Diploma in Leadership. Working in both residential and nursing settings, prior to joining Adelaide, my previous role as Deputy Manager, where I have gained valuable skills that help me to succeed today.

I have shared many treasurable moments with the staff and residents I have had the pleasure to meet over the years. One moment that I will cherish throughout my career was when I was gifted some lovely flowers from both residents and my team to say thank you for all the support I had given towards them. It was a beautiful moment full of kinds words and love.

I would best describe myself as someone who loves to try new things, very passionate about my work and a team player. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, visiting historic places and meeting new people, which I have the pleasure to do every day.

Avery Healthcare, owners of Adelaide, best stands out for the environment they create. It’s a place where you feel like you belong, and everyone is treated with respect. And Adelaide is no different. Our home is unique for its beautifully landscaped gardens that cater for everyone. There is always something to do in there, whether that be planting some crops for our culinary teams or soaking up the sun on a summer’s day.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Adelaide community.
