Our mother is received first-class care. She suffers from both dementia and diabetes, and therefore, has complex medical and social care needs. The staff have been both attentive and professional in their consideration of her needs. Since arriving at Adelaide, there has been a perceptible improvement
in her physical capabilities and emotional well-being. We cannot commend the care and medical teams high enough; they have made her feel comfortable and welcome in her new home, and they are always available to support her when the need arises.
Reply from Rachel Aran, Marketing Administrator at Adelaide Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for taking the time to review Adelaide Care Home and for your amazing 5-star rating. We are delighted to hear how well your mother has soon settled into her new home. It is a true pleasure to have her as part of our loving care community that we create, giving you and your family peace of mind. I will be sure to pass your comments on to the rest of the team. Best wishes.

From our first discrete visit, and although the physical location of the home is not great, we were impressed with how clean it was. Communicating with the management was easy and pleasant, and the actual care staff were delightful and highly competent. Internally the home is spotless, and my mum was
cared for extremely well by lovely people. A member of staff was even present with my dear mum when her time came. We are forever in their debt for the professionalism and kindness with which they operate.

My old friend spent her last two years in Adelaide. She was in the latter stages of dementia and passed away in April 2021. The care and compassion shown to my friend were exceptional, the staff were happy to talk about her needs and requirements. Initially, she would be washed and dress, then "hoisted"
to a wheelchair enabling her to go to the lounge and "see" other residents. As things deteriorated, she became bed-bound, but staff would talk to her and feed her. She wasn't the easiest of people to help and had a challenging nature, but the staff employed patience and understanding, and more often, even managed to get a smile from her!
Reply from Ryan Farrelly, Marketing Assistant at Adelaide Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for taking the time to review Adelaide Care Home. It was a true pleasure to care for your friend and to have her stay here at Adelaide for her final years, and she is greatly missed by all those who were lucky enough to get to know her. Our highly trained staff team go above the standards to deliver exceptional level of care for all residents and support their needs daily, and we are glad that this gave you peace of mind whilst your friend lived with us here. We appreciate your kind words and I will be sure to pass on your positive feedback. Best Wishes, Ryan.

The care my lovely mother-in-Law received from all the staff at Adelaide Care Home, was outstanding, caring, compassionate and nothing was too much. She loved them. We can't recommend them highly enough. From the day my mother-in-law arrived until she passed away two years later, we were comforted by
such an amazing team from every department. Each time we would visit we were welcomed. Such a wonderful atmosphere even at difficult times in the Dementia Nursing Unit. Lovely well kept rooms, clean clothes, exceptional food menu, quiet rooms made available for visits if needed. Dignity always a priority. We were always kept up to date and no matter how much we called it was never a problem. Extra special mention to the amazing team on the Dementia Care Unit.

My mum spent her last two years at Adelaide and received outstanding care and support from all of the staff. More recently during the Covid crisis family were unable to visit and the staff effectively became her family during the lockdown period. She sadly passed away recently but I know she would want
to thank the staff for their care and dedication throughout this time. It was very much appreciated both by her and our family. Thank you.

My mother was in Adelaide Care Home for three months. The care she received was wholly inadequate. Her room was old and shabby with no shower. She was very distressed whilst she was here, and her care needs were not met.

My father-in-law was transferred here in November from hospital. He received a warm welcome on arrival. Nothing has been too much trouble from the very start. The staff and management are kind and helpful. All his needs are met. His room is clean and comfortable. There are always members of staff available
at all times, and visitors are always welcomed. Kindness and concern is shown to us as a family. All our questions have been answered. We are also confident that he is looked after when we are not there.

My mother and father came to this care home in March 2019 as by that stage of their lives they both needed a great deal of care.
I was very impressed from word go by the professionalism, dedication and kindness of all of the staff.
I found that my mother was encouraged to get up and get dressed
and she would eat her lunch with father in the dining area.
As the year progressed there was opportunity to get out into the beautiful garden, something which mother and father really enjoyed. We held a party for father's birthday in a lovely meeting room (the cinema room), which comfortably accommodated several members of the family visiting. The activities on offer are excellent and change on a daily basis. The home caters for a person's spiritual needs also, with close involvement from Christ Church who offer monthly communion services. When my mother died in July and then father in October the staff were quite excellent in all aspects of care needed at this time.

The professionalism and empathy shown by all the staff has been outstanding. As a family, we could not have wished for our mother to have been in a better setting to live our the final months of her illness with dementia. We are thankful for the support given to all the family, especially during mum's
final weeks.

My husband developed an infection causing him to become very agitated and to walk up and down the corridor all day and night. His recommended medication had to be administered intravenously (in hospital). All of the staff displayed a great deal of kindness and patience. I am very grateful for their

My mum's care at Adelaide Bexleyheath was brilliant. The staff were so professional, helpful and kind to Mum and us, her family. Nothing was too much for them. We were happy our mum was in a secure, clean environment, with people around her, so that she was not lonely. The entertainment and activities
were great, always something going on. I would highly recommend Adelaide for anyone in need of care and companionship. Our thanks to all the staff.

My Mum was given 24-hour care in the Adelaide Nursing Home in Bexleyheath after being discharged from a hospital stay. The care she received was first class by a team of friendly very caring staff and I can't recommend the Home highly enough. We were always made very comfortable while we were visiting
Mum, offered drinks and meals and treated with every kindness. In the eight weeks Mum stayed at Adelaide we felt that our wishes and her dignity were always respected and we can't thank them enough for making her last days peaceful and comfortable.

Mum moved to Adelaide Carte Home in 2015 after an 11-week stay in hospital. Her care needs were so complex we were anxious about finding anywhere that could give her the level of care and supervision she needed. It is a testament to the staff that she thrived in their care for over 2 years. I cannot
overstate the quality of care and attention she received. Care is delivered in a cheerful, respectful yet loving and tender manner.

In the final 8 days of Mum's life, the loving and supportive approach was extended to my sister and I. We were welcome to stay as long as we wished and practical and emotional support was provided. The staff were clearly moved by Mum's passing, even though this must be a routine part of their job. We were lucky to spend her final days surrounded by the love and care of the Adelaide team.

Thank you for making her last 2 years so comfortable for her and worry-free for us.

My Mum went to Adelaide Memory Nursing in 2015 and despite the most agonising decision to make the move into care due to her Alzheimers, a better home we could not have wished for.
In the 2 years 10 months that she was there, the staff and the care she received was OUTSTANDING. Nothing was ever too
much trouble, every challenge was met with dignity, reassurance and a smile. The support that the family got was also wonderful. The home treats everyone as part of "one big extended family" - whatever the time of day or night the staff were unwavering in the response to my Mums needs. The activities Mum enjoyed most were the singers that came to the home, but there is so much variety that there is always something for everyone. Many happy days were spent out in the garden enjoying the ice creams and afternoon teas.

Our eldest daughter got married at the end of August and we, as a family, cannot thank the care home staff enough for all they did, not only getting my husband ready on the day of the wedding, but also keeping him engaged and involved in the month leading up to the big day by talking to him about it,
maintaining the countdown calendar we made, and taking the time to keep reassuring him that he was ready by showing him his wedding clothes. Although he was unable to express in words how he felt, the look of pride and happiness on his face when he held his daughter's hand entering the registry office said it all.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.810)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.810) out of 10 for Adelaide Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.810 for Adelaide Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (225 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 273 Ratings = 4.81
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Adelaide Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
