Ashwood Care Home is a modern, three-storey building providing specialist residential and 24-hour nursing care for older residents.

All rooms are en-suite and are freshly decorated throughout. Residents are welcome to bring items of personal furnishings to the home to make their room familiar and comfortable.

The home has a number of communal areas for personal or group enjoyment and the multicultural care team work hard to adapt to the varying needs of residents.

The focus is on delivering high standards of personalised care to those living within the home, which is often praised for being a warm and friendly environment and where residents are supported in their personal choices, hobbies and interests.

It was an unexpected placement for my mother who I cared for at my home. I arrived in a distressed state, late at the door of the care home after hours as my mother was to be placed at Ashwood to be greeted by one of the managers who was a godsend to me at that time. The rest of the staff have been
the same since to help me and my mother. Any questions I have or concerns have been dealt with swiftly. The staff are lovely to me and Mum. I visit every day.

My mother was at Ashwood - under NHS funding - our first experience with a nursing home. Ashwood has surpassed all expectations, over and above. Every single member of staff needs to receive a medal for the work they do. Our 90-year-old mother was cared for in an exceptional and human way.

My father, before he came in, was becoming very difficult to manage because of his frailty. He has improved vastly since being here. The constant care he receives means he is much more relaxed and he's become a much more healthy person, even gaining weight. He is no longer distressed and it is of great
comfort to our family knowing his medical needs are met. I could not imagine him getting the same care anywhere else.

Got an appointment to see my mum and was great to see her looking so well and happy. Mum has been a resident for nearly 6 years and is so well looked after. The staff are fabulous and do a great job. They seem to have a lot of fun times!

Thank you for all the care, love, and kindness you have and are giving my wife. With the aid of the activity team, I have been able, via the computer and Skype, to see my wife singing and laughing which shows how contented she is. Also, the manager always has a welcome smile when we arrive even though

The staff were always caring and supportive during a very challenging time through the pandemic supporting access via Skype and keeping us informed throughout. In her last days, my aunt was well cared for, and we were able to say

My auntie was at the home from September 2019 to her passing in March 2020. During this period the staff were caring and thoughtful, given the difficult circumstances around Covid. In the end the staff kept me well informed and enabled myself and my wife to make a farewell visit. I and the rest of the

The staff were so kind and went to above and beyond to reassure me and my Mum that my Dad was in safe and well secure hands. Their kindness and patience were outstanding in every phone call. The Manager was extremely helpful and supportive and let me see my Dad through the window.

It took us a long time to get our elderly friend, who had dementia, into a care home but as soon as he entered Ashwood we knew it was the right place. The staff could not have been more helpful or approachable, and every time we visited in the 18 months that he was there he was smiling and happy and
well looked after. They were always welcoming and warm towards us, and he was clean and dressed smartly whenever we dropped in. It genuinely felt like a home environment, but a safe and secure one for vulnerable people. Thank you to all at Ashwood, for making his last months so comfortable and happy.

The care and attention my Dad received here in his final months were outstanding. They were so attentive, caring, empathetic and became family. The staff genuinely cared for Dad as they showed again and again. I wish I had known about Ashwood when I needed a care home for my Mum. I would highly recommend.

We visited our grandfather on his birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and helpful the manager and office staff were! The HCAs/carers were equally helpful - they provided us with a butter knife to cut the cake with, took and printed photos for my grandfather's room wall - everything
with a friendly smile, without making us feel as though we were an inconvenience! Most grateful to the team!

Mum came for a respite weekend. She was nervous about coming but was immediately put at ease. She thoroughly enjoyed her time here. We will definitely be using again as it gave me a well earned weekend with peace of mind that mum was well looked after.
