Overall Experience

Mum has been a resident at Ashwood Care Centre since February 2022. We as a family are very grateful that Mum is in such a wonderful, caring environment. All the staff are so helpful and friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble for them, which shows in the level of care and compassion she receives. The good levels of communication regarding Mum's care I receive put me at ease. The manager and every member of staff clearly have Mum's best interests at heart at all times and everyone goes above and beyond for all of the residents. The home is continuously being cleaned and is spotless, and the meals are of a very high quality. I have sometimes visited when morning activities have taken place and it is wonderful to see Mum and the residents having fun whilst playing games, chatting and having a cuppa. All in all, we cannot thank all the staff enough for all that they do and would recommend Ashwood unreservedly.

I am very impressed with Ashwood Care Home. I have visited a neighbour/friend over the last two months. The care assistants are consistently attentive and very good, very pleasant and friendly. The home has very good cleaning staff which makes the home pleasant to visit. I have attended meal times and these are very good and the dining room is very pleasant. I have had contact with the management who are obviously excellent because... a well-run business... 'comes from the top'. Well done everyone. I see on my visits that you are always very much on task. All staff appear to be happy to be at work. Creating a really nice atmosphere. Bravo Ashwood 10/10 from me... and I've seen quite a few care homes.

I couldn’t be happier with the level of care and compassion my nan receives at this home, every single staff member goes above and beyond for not only her, but us all as a family. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they love helping us create memories with not only my nan but all of the residents there.

Our dad moved to the care home in October 2023, we really never wanted to have to put him in a home. He has Parkinson's disease, his condition quickly deteriorated, even with three carer visits a day at home his medication was often missed or late, he also had several falls. When we had to leave him to work we spent all day worrying if he was ok. He has quickly settled in and we really didn't need to worry. The home has a lovely atmosphere, all the staff speak to our dad with warmth and respect, he is so well cared for. The professional, knowledgeable staff make a terrible situation with his health condition more bearable. He is safe, happy and very well cared for by amazing staff.

I had a reluctance to admit my husband needed full-time care as his dementia took more of him away into his own world. I was comforted to see him smile when he was welcomed to Ashwood Care Centre. He very quickly settled in and family and I feel he was contented. I appreciate the patience carers have when feeding him, the carers are very kind. Cleaning staff are always present when I visit, doing their constant job, we share a smile, they are part of the team. The manager is very efficient and available to give me updates. Thank you Ashwood for providing care and kindness to my husband.

My mother was transferred from NHS to Ashwood Care Centre, available at the time, she has been there since June this year and now had an option to move her wherever we wanted, but by the grace of God she is landed in one of the best care homes you could get, I have been looking for care home near my residence but trust me decided her to leave her there, she is so well looked after, I will call it home away from home. We have no worries if we are not able to see her for some time, her every need is looked after, she is well entertained and the staff is on the top of her hygiene needs all the time, staff is always smiling and conversing with Mum and the guest, it's amazing, staff is so helpful and with a smile always. I also must say the manager went above and beyond to help us and put us at ease, as this all was so new for us she went to the extent to help us with the process and never rushed, even contacted authorities on our behalf. We never felt walking into a care home, it's home.

My dad had a fall at the beginning of July ‘23, cracking his head & had bleeds on the brain. After two long stays in the hospital, he is now in Ashwood Care Centre.
He is being well looked after & gets good food, the carers help him. The staff are all very friendly & welcoming. I feel I can rest easy knowing they’re looking after him.

Keep up the great work! Thank you for all you do.

I have had full support with my mother in transferring her from hospital into Ashwood Care Centre - following her very distressing summer of deteriorating health. The home manager and two senior nurses in particular have been such a delight to talk to in explaining about my mother settling in and the positive progress she has made. Everyone is one large family and so efficient. The regular staff have been so welcoming and approachable. I enjoy being greeted by the two administrative staff's nice smiles. Overall, Ashwood is a place where loved ones are cared for, that’s what families want to see and certainly get. Looking forward to the Christmas party!

My aunt has been at Ashwood Care Centre for for over 5 years - and her care is exemplary. She is 90 and has dementia and told me yesterday that “they take very good care of me”. The manager is outstanding - she personally knows the residents and helps them directly when needed. She and the care home staff also do an incredible job of looking after my Aunt’s elderly friend who visits daily and they go above and beyond by taking care of her mentally, with respect, enabling her to have lunch with my aunt each day and even inviting her to stay for Christmas. Finally, the head nurse who’s been there for years is exceptionally kind and efficient and also phones me when needed to update on my Aunt's care. I couldn’t recommend Ashwood Care Centre more.

The staff are very friendly and always inform me of everything that's happening with my nan.

They make me feel at home, more so, they make my nan feel at home and nothing seems to be too much trouble. When I ask questions they spend time to explain in ways that I will understand.

After my mum suffered a stroke, she was given access to Ashwood Care Centre. The care she received and the friendliest staff, assisted my mum to a great level of recovery. My mum has been relocated to a care home better suited to her recovery now.

I would like to thank all the staff from every aspect of the home, I wish you all the best for the future.

My mother has been with Ashwood for three months. The nurses, care workers and management are excellent. Everyone maintains a professional, caring and sincere approach towards the residents. My mother was put at ease from the moment she arrived and as a family, we have continued to see her settle into her new environment without any troubles. As this was the first time we've needed to seek a care placement, we were naturally very anxious, however, we feel fortunate to have found an excellent home with staff that take real pride in their jobs and always put the residents first. I've also found the communication and advice to be excellent, and we'd like to thank the team and management for all they do on a daily basis.

Ashwood Care Centre has been looking after my mum for five months. The staff are very warm, friendly and caring, they do an amazing job. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and this is very reassuring. The home is well run and the management team is very responsive. In particular, the manager of the home is very caring, knowledgeable and approachable. The rooms are comfortable and homely. There are currently some upgrades and redecoration works in progress which will make it even better. From my experience, I have no hesitation in recommending this care home.
