I like to say I've never seen any member of staff without a smile on their faces. When let into the home I'm greeted politely and mainly with my Christian name. Also, they ask how I am. Staff on mothers floor are very helpful when I ask questions.

Overall Experience

My Dad has now been at Aston House Care Home for nearly a year. During that time his dementia has advanced and he has had some other health problems. He has had some quite challenging behaviour too. Throughout, the Manager and team at Aston House have been excellent. The quality of the care is first class but what has also been most valuable is their proactive approach to liaising with the Health Board, GP and Social Worker to manage Dad's needs - all of which was completely unknown to me.

We have had a couple of issues with the cleanliness of the bathroom in Dad's room but they have been addressed as soon as they have been raised. We also understand the home is due to undergo some renovation work, which will improve facilities.

Overall, my experience has been very positive and it's clear the staff have come to know and understand Dad's needs and are caring and attentive with all residents. The Aston House team consistently demonstrate compassion and kindness and I am very happy with Dad's care.

My dad has been in Aston House since June 2015. He is well cared for and the staff keep us informed of his care needs. Staff work very hard and are kind and caring. Everyone is fully aware of the special care and attention someone with dementia needs and attends with respect and dignity. As dad needs 24 hour care we couldn't ask for him to be anywhere better.

My husband is a resident at Aston House and has been for the last twelve months. He has late stages of dementia and from what I can see he is well looked after and the staff are great and treat residents and relatives with a lot of respect. For myself I feel very comfortable he's okay. When I come home and have to leave him there.
