Since the new owners have taken over a year ago the home has gone from strength to strength.

Such a wonderful home and a lovely atmosphere. The new manager has got the right idea and is very responsive and friendly, a warm welcome is always received at Bourne House. The care received by my relative is second to none, outstanding in my opinion!

Further to my previous review, I want to state that the overall care at Bourne House is great and the home is lovely.
I feel that my brother needs a more specialised level of care due to his conditions and his background history.
My brother is happy at the home, I am also happy with Bourne House.
I
feel that external support services are limited and that healthcare professionals, at times do not understand his condition or life history, by this I mean external to the home care staff.

I have previously left a review for Bourne House but feel I need to leave another one for this excellent care home. Unfortunately, my mother passed away in September there and I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and support they gave us at a very difficult time. The level of care my mum received
was outstanding throughout her time there. Many thanks Bourne House staff.

My mother came to Courne House for respite care. She was very well cared for and enjoyed her stay. She said that the staff were thoughtful and caring. She would like to have taken them home with her. She has already asked to return when she needs further respite care.

Bourne House is a very good care home. Staff are very caring, helpful and welcoming. As a family, we feel confident that our mother will be safe, secure and well looked after.
Recent management changes have caused some upheaval and a little concern - not least because these changes were not, in my
opinion, very well communicated. This is an area I feel can be improved. Hopefully, with a new manager due to start shortly, this will be addressed.

Bourne House is a great place for my grandmother. She now needs assisted care 24/7 and this is perfect. I understand there are budgets but in my opinion, money needs spending to make this home excellent. The staff do the best with what they have. Good to see staff numbers are up as times its looked
very lean! Movie account or movie sharing scheme as the DVDs are a little old or overplayed. Better accommodation of visitors, sometimes its all a bit much in the main room.

I am full of praise for the home, who stop at nothing to give loving and dedicated care to all its residents. My friend is so well looked after and shown support and empathy in everything. I am made welcome to the home at every visit. The home is bright and cheery and I am given time to spend my visit
quietly and in private, to maximise time with my friend. The management and all staff members are professional and make the home what it is.

Bourne is very caring and gives off a family atmosphere. There have been issues in the past with the standard of food but this has improved recently. There are some positive changes being made at the moment, in the kitchen and with the general decor of the home. This has helped with a new chef and the
walls being decorated with some murals which are outstanding.

My mum has been at Bourne House now for around 18 months and I cannot praise the staff and management enough for the care they provide. She has been a challenging resident throughout and their ability to adapt and assist whilst helping her maintain her dignity has brought such comfort to me and my family
in this difficult time. Any questions I have had have been quickly answered and we have no complaints when it comes to her care. The support Bourne House has given us as a family has put us in a much better place, and it really feels the staff and management go the extra mile to help in any way they can. Over the last 18 months I have taken a number of friends and relatives to visit my mum, and we all feel the same way in that we would have no hesitation in recommending Bourne House Nursing Home.

Bourne House deserves its reputation for excellent care for people with dementia. All the staff treat the residents with utmost respect and politeness. Family are always welcome at any time and are actively encouraged to join in at mealtimes which helps foster the relaxed and friendly atmosphere which

Very caring and considerate staff and extremely helpful management. My mother has deteriorated badly since arriving and has had a difficult time but management and staff have always been very sympathetic and responsive to her needs. It's comforting to know that she is being looked after so well and

My Mum has been at Bourne House for approximately seven months and is well looked after. The staff are amazing and you can see they care about their residents. If I ever have a query or need to know anything, the office staff are excellent in their prompt replies to my emails. The staff are very
approachable and always listen to what you have to say. Her room with en suite facilities is ok and she also has a TV in her room. Mum's clothes are marked with her name and the laundry system appears to work well. Obviously there are going to be items in her wardrobe that don't belong to her but I don't think it's an issue. Can't really comment on activities as we are never at the home when these go on. Overall, we are very happy with the care my Mum is receiving and would recommend Bourne House.

Mum has only been in Bourne House for about a month but already I can see the attentiveness of the staff and the calm and patient way they deal with the residents. I know I have made the right choice for my Mum. I know her dignity is respected (even though she can be difficult at times!) and she is
receiving the best care.

My brother suffers from Down's Syndrome and now advanced Alzheimer's. He has been in Bourne House since July, where he has a very nice room. From the very moment he arrived there the staff have been amazing. They are very caring and go to great lengths to ensure his wellbeing. As a family we cannot
thank them enough for their kindness towards him and us during the last few months. We are made to feel very welcome when we visit, whatever the time of day and this helps enormously too. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
