From the Initial Assessment, settling her in, and adapting her Care to reflect her changing needs, we could not have asked for better care.
The staff are all so kind and cheerful. The Care Home rooms are clean and functional. On 1st glance the decor might seem in need of an update, but look past that and we have found the care to be first rate.
There is an extensive list of activities, with a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who is so imaginative, and creative, she fills the atmosphere with joy and happiness. The Home also has use of a minibus to take residents out to local venues They foster connections with local schools, nurseries and churches for visits and events.
A local G.P. visits each week and the managers, admin team, senior carers, housekeeping and Carers all work closely as a Team to ensure the wellbeing of the residents and to communicate with and support their families.
Kind regards,
Since my sister has resided in Carter House Care Home I and my family have been really pleased in how she has settled in and how professional and caring the staff are. My sister has dementia and it can be difficult at times looking after her but the staff are very patient and kind and look after her very well which is a great comfort to our family.
Kind regards,
The team at Carter House provided my father with exceptional care. During his stay, he became healthier, stronger, and more engaged than I've seen in years. The staff are professional, kind, and genuinely attentive to each resident's needs. While he was happy at the home, they supported his move back home seamlessly. I highly recommend Carter House.
Kind regards,
Sadly my dad had dementia and doesn't always recognise me but each time I visit the care team are always friendly and courteous. They pop in to see dad and make sure he has all he needs. It means that I am certain that he is well cared for.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're truly grateful for your trust and are glad to know our team's care gives you peace of mind. It's our privilege to look after your dad and ensure he's comfortable and supported.Kind regards,

They have been very careful and attentive ensuring the best care possible was delivered .
It would be very nice as been highlighted in the previous meetings that she could receive a weekly cheese salad. This as she can't chew meatThank you for your support.
.
Thank you for your kind feedback-we're glad to hear you're happy with the care your Mother is receiving. We'll ensure the kitchen arranges a weekly cheese salad for her, as noted. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do.
Carter House provides a warm and caring home for my brother who suffers from dementia. The activities organiser has been key to creating a much more active , engaged, environment for residents. A great asset. One staff member in particular is helpful and efficient at handing administration/welfare matters. Carers should be encouraged likewise to engage more closely. Staff shortages are sometimes a problem and clothes go missing!
Thank you for your thoughtful review and kind words about our team and activities organiser - we're so glad to hear your brother feels supported and engaged here.We appreciate your feedback on staff engagement and the issue of missing clothing. We're actively working to address these areas and improve consistency.Thank you again for your support and honesty.
Don't have an issue with Carter House Care Home they are doing a great job by looking after my mum, so keep up the good work guys she also enjoys her self here, she gets involved in the activities they do. So well done guys thank you for all you do.
thank you so much for your kind words and support! We're so pleased to hear your mum is enjoying herself and engaging with the activities in ways that suit her. We'll be sure to share your lovely feedback with the team-it really means a lot.
Carter House is a very well run care home. All the staff are very caring, attentive and professional. I know that all my mum's care needs are met and I can trust them to look after her. She is regularly seen by a doctor too which is very reassuring. It is also very clean. Thank you to everyone.
Thank you for your kind words. We're delighted to hear that you feel confident in the care your mum receives at Carter House. Our team takes great pride in providing attentive and professional care in a clean and welcoming environment. Your trust and appreciation mean so much to us. Thank you!
Carter House is such a well-run care home. I am confident our mum is happy, well looked after and in safe hands. The staff here are truly amazing and work so hard. The staff interaction with the residents is truly amazing, and as a visiting family member I am always given such a warm welcome. There is always so much for the residents to do thanks to the activity co-ordinators, who ensure that all residents are included in the various activities. Unlike many other care homes where staff turnover is constant, here at Carter House they have a steady group of staff. Thank you to everyone for making us, as a family, feel confidence in her care.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We're so pleased to hear that you feel confident and reassured about the care your mum receives at Carter House. Our team works hard to create a warm and engaging environment for both residents and their families, and it's heartening to know this is appreciated. Your kind words mean a lot to us all-thank you!
Thankfully, after several weeks, things changed dramatically for the better.
All the staff are always pleasant, polite and caring. It is a wonderful atmosphere to walk into.
Staff not being available some weekends to answer the call bell for entry. Also, sometimes there was no-one at weekends to take a phone call from the office in the morning, when I tried to phone around 9.30am.
Thankfully this problem has now been resolved.
I have nothing but praise of all the staff, whatever their role.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We're so glad to hear that your experience has improved and that you feel supported by our caring team. We appreciate your understanding as we worked to address the earlier concerns and are pleased to know they have been resolved. Your kind words mean a great deal to everyone at the home-thank you!
There are not enough words for me to use in order the praise the care my relative received from Carter House. Every single person from the cleaners to the customer services manager afforded him respect, empathy and kindness. It would be wrong for me to single out anyone because everyone was a credit to the care home. I will remain forever grateful to each one of you. You made a very lost gentleman (because of dementia) feel he was home and he quickly settled in because of your patience.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We are truly touched by your kind words and are honored to have been able to support your relative with care, respect, and kindness. It means so much to hear that he felt at home with us and was able to settle in comfortably. Your gratitude is deeply appreciated by everyone at Carter House-thank you.
I would like to thank the great staff team at Carter House for the lovely summer fair/party they held last Sunday. The staff pulled out all the stops and every resident had a smile on their face. My mum thoroughly enjoyed herself. The weather was great, the food delicious and the music from the weekly musician was fantastic. Thank you everyone.
Thank you very much for your comments. I will agree with you. It was an enjoyable day. For the residents and families but also all the staff. And of course, we were super lucky with the weather. I will pass your comments to all the staff who participated in all the preparations. Thank you for coming and thank you again for your feedback. Kind regards.
From the moment my sister moved into Carter House in April 2024 we have been very happy with the way she has been cared for. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them day and night. They keep us well informed of everything she does and although she does not yet participate in a lot of the activities, I am sure as time goes on she will.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I will share them with our staff on your behalf. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that all our residents feel like family, rather than just residents of a care home. Thank you again
A beautiful care home with a beautiful garden. All staff make you feel welcome. Family member is happy and content living at Carter House. They have made friends with other residents and enjoy his weekly arts and crafts and quiz morning.
Hello, thank you very much for your kind comments. I am really happy your family member feels content living at our home. Our activities team is dedicated to constantly innovating our arts & crafts sessions, ensuring that all residents have engaging experiences. Creating a sense of belonging is paramount to us; we want every resident to feel that Carter House is truly their home. Kind regards.
The whole team makes sure she is included in activities if she wants to participate. I did a lot of research to find a care home that was the right fit for Mum and that I could trust to take care of her. I am particularly impressed with Carter House and the head nurse who has helped Mum since her move, suggesting a different bed and pressure mattress given her falls in her previous home. The food is nutritious and Mum loves the coffee.
I'm delighted to hear that your Mum has settled in so well at Carter House and that she's happy and cared for. It's heartwarming to know that the team goes above and beyond to ensure your Mum feels included and enjoys special occasions like her 100th birthday celebration. The attention to detail,...
Carter House Care Home is a place I would tell anyone about. The staff are very friendly and caring, always close to hand in case needed. The home is all clean and tidy. My mother was in Carter House as a respite user and she loved it and chose it as the place she wanted to stay.
Our dedicated staff members are committed to providing the best care possible and it...
I've been very happy with my mother's care in the last eleven months since she moved in. The facilities are lovely and clean, the gardens are nice and, most importantly, the staff are great. I feel total confidence she is cared for well in my absence and any issues or changes are quickly and clearly communicated. Everyone at Carter House Care Home has made a tricky period much easier than I ever thought it would be.
Thank you for your kind words it really means a lot to us, and thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I have passed on your message to the rest of our team at Carter House.
Kindest regards,
Gemma
Things seem to be picking up a bit now but over the past year and a half my father has been in there so many changes of staff etc. You really need to steady the ship as they say, but yes, I can see a bit more active stuff going on and also make sure to keep loved ones updated. Okay, thank you.
We are trying to avoid them as much as possible. Please be reassured that there are no more planned staff changes in the foreseeable future. We have a good team of staff at...
The only problem I have is that on a hot summer's day, the common room can be very hot and uncomfortable.
Carter House enjoys a lot of sunshine during the day. It does occasionally mean that the lounge rooms do get quite warm.
For safety reasons, we are not able to open the windows wider than the health and...
