Welcome to Cedars Care Centre in Barnet. This large, detached, traditional home offers 24-hour specialist care to those over the age of 18. The home is fortunate to have a long-serving team of nursing and support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment. While specialising in Dementia care, they offer long-term, palliative, respite and post-operative care.

The well-maintained home comprises 35 single bedrooms and 5 companion rooms for couples wishing to share, all with en-suite facilities. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. They welcome and cater for live in small dogs and cats as well as welcoming visiting pets.
While bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the bright and attractive communal day rooms offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite films. The day rooms look out over beautifully landscaped gardens and French doors open onto the terrace allowing safe, ease of access.

At Cedars, the team encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of the activities take place within the home environment and include garden tea parties, barbecues and arts/crafts. Within the garden, there is a raised vegetable patch offering the opportunity to ‘grow your own’. They empower individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a manicure, visiting the cinema or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. All are encouraged and available. Residents enjoy the wider community, with a thriving high street, independent shops and local park all within a short distance.

Cedars is exemplary in its care for its residents. The staff are all amazing, I think they’re just fantastic. The home is always spotlessly clean and they make it such a comfortable and welcoming place to visit. It’s been really hard for my family to see my dad deteriorate with Parkinson’s and the pandemic
and lockdowns have made it hard to visit him as much as we’d like. Cedars always makes us feel welcome when we do and have been brilliant in managing covid and keeping residents safe through this difficult time.

I cannot praise The Cedars highly enough. The kindness of the staff brings tears of grained to my eyes. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The home is spotlessly clean and palpably full of joy. The residents all seem happy and well stimulated. The staff work as a team and create a lively and reassuring

I must take this moment to say a very special thank you to the manager and all the staff at The Cedars Care Centre who in the most respectful and beautiful way cared for my father, during his time with them.
The Cedars became his home, and they cared for and supported him throughout his stay. They
were always supportive of the family playing an active part in his wellbeing.
My family and I will forever be grateful for their kindness, compassion and warmth provided to not just Dad, but we the family too.
It goes without saying that, should another family ever have the need for their loved one to move into a nursing home, I would highly recommend The Cedars Care Centre because they genuinely do care and take seriously their responsibility.

The Manager must be very proud of her dedicated team at Cedars. They are compassionate and caring and have been a lifeline to my mum during Covid restrictions. They dealt with an emergency with my mum and reacted quickly to get the best treatment for her. They have continued to care for her once she
returned from hospital following complex surgery. My mum has dementia and terminal cancer so I know that the palliative and end of life care that they will provide for my mum will be second to none. This gives me peace of mind as due to Covid I cannot currently visit my lovely mum but the staff are always happy to speak to me and update me on how she is.
When I had to find a care home for mum a few months ago I could not visit any to inspect so chose Cedars from online reviews and CQC inspections. I kept questioning whether I had placed mum in the right place but the last few months have shown me that I certainly made the right choice. Wonderful caring staff.

I have always found the staff at Cedars to be helpful, positive and friendly. I have only ever witnessed kindness shown to the service users. My friend has been very happy at Cedars although lockdown has been hard. Nevertheless, Cedars is covid free, a very good indication of standards. I am impressed

During lockdown, I have been in regular contact with the staff and management of The Cedars and I have been really impressed with their handling of the crisis. They have often told me they are having difficulty getting hold of tests for COVID but by the next time I speak to them they have managed to
do so, which I know has not been the case for many homes. My Mother, now nearly 91, has remained negative throughout the pandemic, after being tested on quite a number of occasions. I put this down to the very high standards of care and attention to detail in the management and nurturing of residents. She is also happy and relaxed and I think this also contributes to better health including an enhanced immune system. Laughing is also reputed to support the immune system and when I've been on the phone with her during this time I've often heard her joking with staff and can hear the level of affection between them.

The staff at The Cedars are unfailingly kind and helpful. They treat my mother with great warmth and friendliness so that she feels safe and cared for. The food is excellent and I have been offered meals when I am there as I live a long way away, so I can testify the freshness and tastiness of it. The
rooms are ok, not beautiful but my mother recently moved to a nicer room with french windows and it is lovely and she is happy. I trust all the staff with my mother and even in Covid-19 times, I feel sure they will look after her to the best way they possibly can.

A glowing report on the care received by management and carers. Having tested positive to Covid 19, the care home was already locked down. But we were afforded constant updates and videos on my mother's progress. We rang the home at numerous times and was told the progress she was making. Fortunately,
she tested clear of the virus, this was amazing given her age. The home must be commended on the handling of this ravaging virus. On a happier note, when the carer, dressed in all the PPE equipment, my mother thought she was being fed by an alien.

Of all the local care homes we visited before choosing the best place for our friend, The Cedars were the most welcoming and homely. It has proved to be an excellent choice. Our friend has lived here happily for three years now. The staff are all friendly, caring and professional, treating the residents
with respect and dignity and making visitors feel welcome at all times. Indeed, there is a family atmosphere at The Cedars. The home is clean and tidy. There are plenty of activities for the residents, including afternoon quizzes, summer barbecues and live entertainment. Residents' birthdays are celebrated with a birthday cake, shared by everyone. The Cedars is the epitome of a care home in that it is both caring and homely.
