Elmwood is a purpose-built home, located in a quiet part of Bickley, Kent. They offer a comfortable and loving home, with a high standard of person-centred care to sixty seven older people with physical or elderly frail nursing needs. Nurses and carers provide full nursing and clinical care twenty four hours a day. They are dedicated to caring for residents with dignity, respect and compassion and to serving residents’ social, physical, clinical and emotional needs.
Staff are loyal and hardworking, ensuring a strong continuity of care for residents and work to encourage independence and freedom of choice.
Residents’ bedrooms are spread across three secure and accessible floors. Each floor benefits from a large, bright lounge and dining area. All bedrooms are large, spacious and well appointed with ensuite facilities and pleasant views onto the front or rear gardens or surrounding residential area. Whilst all furniture, linen and towels are provided, with rooms presented to a high decorative standard, carers encourage residents to personalise their bedrooms as they wish.
All meals are prepared onsite using fresh ingredients. Menus are prepared and updated on a regular basis, in full consultation with residents and their advocates. The team are committed to ensuring that any dietary needs and preferences are met and that varied and nutritional meals are available to suit every cultural and personal choice.
Elmwood benefits from a diverse and extensive programme of activities, events and excursions, a coffee shop, cinema, chapel, hairdressing salon and internet suite for residents’ use. My mother us cared for and content. She relates as well as is possible with the management and staff who are responsible for her. I am happy and secure in the knowledge that she is in safe hands.
I have only been here one week. I can not fault the facilities or the service provided by the staff. The food is excellent and the staff are very kind and helpful. All in all, I would recommend Elmwood to anyone who needs care.

As far as I am concerned, apart from the odd minor issue, Mission Care stay close to this code of values.
As in all businesses, managers set the tone and style and in this regard, the manager, assisted by her clinical lead, sets high standards and leads by example.
