Frithwood Nursing Home, Northwood is a care home for 26 elderly residents. Located in an English garden setting, residents are aged from 55 years. The emphasis of the home is a positive and enjoyable future and all rooms are fully equipped and furnished to a high standard. Residents are also encouraged to add their own personal touches to their room.

The registered nurses and care assistants who work at Frithwood are chosen for their warm personality as well as their skills and there are regular training updates for all staff. Frithwood’s philosophy is that care is a partnership between staff and residents – and they encourage family and friends to be involved.

Wonderful experience in hard circumstances. My aunt was handled with utmost care, compassion + respect. Wouldn't ask for more. Highly recommend this nursing home - fabulous staff and so many warm homely, safe place.

Overall positive regarding home cleanliness and staff very friendly and responsive have asked they are proactive with father as he is generally very passive


Environment overall very friendly and bright and airy which is nice as more of a home than a nursing centre


Food and drinks supplied very

good adapted to my fathers eating challenges and of sufficient variety so keeps varied diet


Weekend staff ratio and especially nurse turnover can be a concern to ensure continuity of care and we did have a communication issue when father was admitted to hospital and we only made aware when ambulance arrived


Physio is also a need and despite referrals hospital physio team haven't come to help team to support my fathers mobility which is a concern and needs to be followed up

Frithwood Nursing Home is truly a wonderful place. The environment is warm, homely, and always spotless, which makes such a positive difference every time I visit. There is a calm, welcoming atmosphere that helps residents and visitors feel at ease straight away. The staff are absolutely exceptional.
They go above and beyond for the residents every single day, showing genuine compassion, patience, and respect. They are always smiling and friendly, creating such a positive and uplifting feeling throughout the home. It is clear that they really care about the people they look after. The manager deserves praise as well. He leads with professionalism and dedication, making sure that high standards of care are maintained and that residents' needs are truly put first. You can see that he values his staff and fosters a strong team spirit. The summer party at Frithwood was a perfect example of how much they do to build a sense of community. The event was beautifully organised.

My mum has been at Frithwood for a couple of months and has been provided with excellent care. From the beginning, the staff have been kind, attentive and truly dedicated to her well-being. Facilities are always clean, well-maintained and welcoming. Communication with the team has also been excellent,
and we have felt reassured knowing she's in good hands. I would highly recommend Frithwood nursing home to any family looking for high-quality, compassionate care.

This is the second time Mum and Dad have stayed here for their annual respite care break.
I was so pleased to have found a care home which is so nice having experienced quite a few which were dreadful! I actually requested this home again.
The home manager and his team can't do enough for you and
my parents. Mum and Dad seem happy to be there and even play games which is very unusual for them! I am sent videos of them whilst I'm away which is very reassuring and they're always responsive to calls and emails.
Mum especially isn't the easiest with her Dementia but even she seems happy to be at Frithwood.

Upon arrival, the staff seem engaged in their work and doing work all the time instead of checking their phones etc. They talk to the residents and ask if they are okay.

I could not speak more highly enough of Frithwood Care Home. My mother is stable now thanks to their attention, their love and compassion. Having a sick parent is already worrying and so it is an immense relief Mummy is safe and cared for.

I could not have asked for a better nursing home than this, Frithwood Nursing Home. The staff are incredible and will do whatever it takes to assist a patient with care and support; the place has jaw-dropping, flawless hygiene; the appearance is attractive and whenever you approach the grounds, you
will always feel a hug of welcome envelop you. I'm in awe of how beautiful a place could be and my father is enjoying his time there with people who are similar to him in some or so many ways! The food also seems lovely and each resident gets a well-balanced, fresh meal that is healthy for them. I love my father and I'm so thankful and grateful to this nursing home, otherwise, I would've left him somewhere else. Frithwood Nursing Home, thank you so much for welcoming my father and family with open, welcoming arms and understanding him. Thank you for giving my father a second home in such a wonderful place.

A caring place for loved ones!
I can't express how grateful I am for the exceptional care my father has received at The Frithwood Nursing Home. From the moment he arrived, the staff welcomed him with open arms, making sure he felt comfortable and at home. Their compassion and dedication are evident
in everything they do.
The nursing team is attentive and responsive, always ready to help with a smile. I've seen firsthand how they go above and beyond to ensure each resident feels valued and cared for. The activities they provide keep the residents engaged, and it's heartwarming to see my father participating and enjoying himself.
The facility itself is clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, creating a warm environment. I feel at peace knowing my father is in such a nurturing place where he receives quality care and companionship.

My husband was admitted to the care home on 31/10/2024. The family are pleased that he is being cared for and is warm and in a safe environment, as he has dementia and is very unsteady on his feet.
We are confident that the staff are looking after him and are concerned for his welfare.

We are very happy with Dad's care. He has settled in and seems content. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit and the staff and manager are always available to speak to and the staff are very kind and gentle to Dad. Dad has been supported to eat better and is doing well.

My mum was moved here from hospital, she has diabetes and advanced Alzheimer's. My husband and I live overseas and were liaising with the home manager and his caring team at The Frithwood well before we could visit. The service, mannerism on the phone were just amazing and we were always reassured that
my mum is being well cared for. We visited UK in August/September, we were so happy with the reception and attitude of all the staff, they were so caring towards my mum, and this has given us so much assurance of her being well looked after. Nursing home and end of life for many patients is very daunting, to have caring people around when family can't be there is heart-assuring for the family, we are in this scenario. Thank you and we commend the service, the attitude of all staff and facilities being offered. Also, my mum is vegetarian, and the staff have been so good at ensuring she is fed correctly as per dietary requirement. Thank you, very satisfied with the care and facilities.

It has been an incredible group of people at the care home who have supported us through these times to help improve my mum's health and help get it back on track. Still a work in progress but the staff has always been really supportive and I'd really thank each and every one out there for helping people
