The Grange Care Centre provides residential and nursing care for up to 160 residents requiring general nursing needs and end of life care. The home can care for those living with dementia, younger adults with physical disabilities and mental health needs.

Spread across eight units, bedrooms benefit from en-suite facilities. Each unit has communal living, dining, bath, shower and toilet facilities.

I found the staff to be caring and professional and attentive. My mother is quite complex and although she has issues with some carers, I think her care is safe and respectful. Thank you for all your help and support.

Out of the care homes my dad has been I know that this is the place he can settle and live out his life. I feel that management could communicate a bit better and since my dad is prone to falls the staff could be more aware and cater for that to avoid many hospital visits. Overall my experience with
the care home is good and I feel my dad is in good hands. The staff are great and kind.

My husband was cared for in this care home for nearly two years, he was not mobile and suffered from Alzheimer's. He was well cared for and supported by kind members of staff, who looked after both him and the family, particularly as his health failed and as he died, surrounded by family and loving
members of staff.
I think when he first arrived at the care home there could have been greater stimulation and more activities available when he was well enough to participate a bit more. This was however made harder due to covid restrictions at the time.
All the staff work extremely hard and their dedication to their job is commendable.

Our mum was admitted to this nursing home just over 2 years ago and she settled there very quickly. The staff at all levels were kind, professional and courteous at all times. The staff directly involved with our mum's care were brilliant - thank you very much indeed. I would have no hesitation in recommending

All staff have been very caring, polite, friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We are confident that Dad is being very well looked after. We would appreciate a little bit more information on how Dad has been, just a quick handover would suffice about how he has been.
Although the basic
care needs are very good, there does seem to be a lack of activities, outside of music in the day room Dad sometimes appears bored and maybe unstimulated.
Since 1-1 has been removed by healthcare assistants- Dad's incontinence has increased even though he can use the toilet.

We are pleased with our mother in this care home. The staff are warm and welcoming. The nurses on duty are very helpful and willing to answer questions. My only suggestion would be to have a chat to indicate how much my mother has eaten during the day.

The new management has started to show its benefits already, with the sense of team returning to the units. Seeing the same care staff looking after and knowing their residents, has made a very positive impact on the resident I know. Units have very specific needs and having a united and settled team
does make a huge difference. Glad to see the new management making the residents happy.

Your staff have failed miserably in the Bluebell ward!
My dad's emergency button is constantly being misplaced or simply unplugged by your staff on many occasions just because Dad is asking for small things, as said by one of your staff when I called. One of the shift nurses has been aggressive when
I have told them that Dad needs a toilet. Your shift nurse has said on many occasions that she is too busy to attend to Dad's needs.
It is very hard to understand what your staff are saying due to the lack of fluent English and basic communication skills.
Every time I call, your staff members inform me that you have a staff shortage and there is no workforce to resolve the issue. Why is that? As a manager, you should know that the care staff are at the heart of each home. Shortages of staff will cause an immediate deterioration of the quality of care. This is on you!
All previous complaints were brushed under the carpet. Should there be no resolution, this matter will become legal.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Whilst it is companies policy not to comment on individual cases, this was raised as a safeguarding and the outcome was found to be unsubstantiated and the Local Authority did not take this to the next stage as they were happy with the home's policies and procedures.

Since I’ve gone into the home itself and met the staff and manager, I found them to be extremely pleasant and approachable, unlike my first encounter on the phone. My mother-in-law has received (and is getting) fantastic care. Would I recommend the home? Yes, I definitely would.

I had a very good experience with the home manager when the home was open for a visit in March. The COVID-19 test was made by her in the morning, and she was again seen on the floor. She leads by example and rallies her team behind her. My father has been in The Grange for 3-years, I have never seen
staff so caring. I saw him for the first time after almost a year. He was looking good, his room was clean, the whole environment looked different. The staff spoke to me in a polite manner. In fact, I was taken away by the level of care and attention given to the residents on the unit. I will strongly recommend this home. A big thank you to all the staff at The Grange.

My mum has been a resident at The Grange for four years. The staff were kind and care was exceptional. Recently, however, my mum's valuables and care products have gone missing, new staff are unkind and dismissive. We are never updated with information about the home or our family member, and it’s very
difficult to get a response to a query. A few of the original staff are still approachable. I recommended the Grange to many friends. Sadly I couldn’t recommend it any more.

The staff are exceptional, and that is what makes a care home, staff that actually care. It was in unfortunate circumstances that I experienced the staff on such a personal level, Mum was a resident of The Grange from March 2020 and sadly moved into end of life care a year later. The Grange staff have
been compassionate and supportive throughout this difficult process.
The nursing staff on Primrose worked from a place of knowledge and wisdom; they treated mum and the family with dignity and respect that, writing this in Covid times, seems unheard of. Carers came to pay their last respects as they had been Mum's daily contact as well as stand-in family, for the last year.
I will be eternally grateful for the kindness of these people, I hope the group appreciate the staff they have on the ground who deliver more than just a service and deal with the day to day hardship and heartbreak of dementia.
I hope the staff are being valued. There is no Grange without these people.

Terrible care home. The whole experience has been traumatic for my family, whilst dealing with an unwell relative. Some staff members work hard and make an effort, but others treat residents and relatives with contempt. Complaints aren't followed up by management, total disregard for concerns raised.
It may look nice visually, but apart from that, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, stay clear.
