We couldn't have asked for a better care home to look after my father. All the staff are extremely caring, compassionate and kind and treated my dad with respect and as a person, not a patient. The home is lovely, with bright pictures on the wall. My dad's room overlooked the very nice and tranquil
garden. His room was a good size and caught the sunlight so felt nice and bright. Activities at the home are very well run, with Halloween/Divali and Christmas celebrations, and staff making a huge effort to involve residents and their families. The staff were so kind to us (my family) as well as my father which made such a huge difference, we always had a smile from everyone even if it was just passing someone in the corridor. They were also able to help with end of life care, putting us in contact with a hospice nurse who was very supportive during this time, and ensuring that my father could remain at the home and not go into hospital. I couldn't recommend the home highly enough.

We think that the job the carers are doing with our mum is good. She is being looked after very well. The staff are very good with everyone who lives in the home. All is good with our Mum. We visit the home every week and always get a good reception from all who work there, even from the residents.
Overall, we feel that everyone is doing their best.

I have been visiting an elderly friend whilst she has been staying at Hamilton. I used to visit this friend when she was staying at another home. I was always uneasy at leaving her in the other home as the care given was so clearly inadequate. Hamilton have taken very good care of my friend, she gives
me only good reports. I can leave her without being worried.

The staff at Hamilton have been outstanding in their care for my mother over the last three years. The home was completely renovated and redecorated last year and is now very bright, clean and vibrant. There is a lovely garden and some of the residents rooms open up directly to the garden. Throughout
the year Hamilton arrange variety of trips to load garden centers, Kew Gardens, Hampton Court Palace etc as well as summer party which is always a fun day. My only comment for improvement would be with regards to the food, as this is not the most exciting of menus and could be improved upon. I would highly recommend Hamilton Nursing Home.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.392)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.392) out of 10 for Hamilton is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.517 for Hamilton is calculated as follows: ( (100 Excellents x 5) + (67 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 176 Ratings = 4.517
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hamilton is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 39 registered maximum number of service users is 7.8, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
