I would recommend St Jude's to anyone. The staff are all wonderful giving so much love, kindness and respect to all the residents. It is a very welcoming place and nothing is too much trouble. I have no worries at all leaving my mother in their care. Lots of effort goes into many events throughout the
year which are always well organised and lots of fun - well done St Jude's and thank you.

After viewing quite a few nursing homes in the area, a carer said we should look at St Jude's.
On our first visit having a look around and meeting the manager, who was very friendly and easy to discuss my husband's needs with.
My family and I decided St Jude's Nursing Home was the one we felt happy
to place my husband in for full care.
The staff are very caring, friendly and welcoming when you visit. The home is spotless, rooms are bright and airy. Friends and family are made very welcome and are offered tea.
From the manager to all staff, the are very happy if you ever have an issue to deal with it straight away.
It makes me happy to know that my husband is well looked after.

The care is excellent. The residents are well looked after by kind and thoughtful staff. The food is good and nicely presented. The home is clean and never smells. The care the staff give is done willingly and they really care about the residents and are always very nice to any visitors as well. It
is a well-run home.
My aunt is very happy here, even after her 2-year stay.

The level of care and attention to detail is wonderful. The staff are very helpful and cheerful. They all engage with the residents showing not only deep care but understanding patience and kindness.
Nothing seems too much trouble for them. There are plenty of organised activities which the residents
are free to enjoy as they so choose. Visitors are made to feel welcome and valued as part of the care for the guests/residents. It is more like a well-organised luxury hotel for the elderly than an ordinary care home.

A well-managed care home that provides a full range of excellent services. The staff have a very good appreciation of dealing with residents with dementia. They use caring strategies to make those in their care comfortable and at ease. The standards at St Jude's are high with good facilities, excellent
food and clean and pleasant rooms for residents top of their priorities. Highly recommend.

My mum was cared for at St Jude's for about 2 weeks when she was dying from brain cancer.
The staff could not have been kinder or more supportive.
Everything was done for her and for us, even a sympathy card in the post when she died.

Although all the staff we met were very nice in the week my Dad was admitted there after being diagnosed with terminal cancer only 10 days before, with only days/weeks left to live, we were told by the hospital that our Dad would receive care with calm and dignity by trained, palliative care, we felt
he had neither sadly.
The care he received was nothing like a patient would receive in a hospice, where we were told Dad could not be accepted! His medication to keep him calm, pain-free and comfortable was not given as regularly as it could/should have been even though we queried it daily. It was a traumatic death to which we will never recover and will forever feel we let our Dad down.
Reply from Patricia Fyfe, Manager at St Jude's Nursing HomeDear Debra, I am very saddened to learn you are so unhappy with the care delivered to your father during his last days at St Judes Nursing Home. This is so untypical of the excellent standard of care provided by my professional and caring team and despite various attempts, I have been unable to contact you to discuss your experiences. Losing a loved one is never easy and we pride ourselves in the person-centered care we give and the support and care we offer to families of loved ones during a very difficult time. This on many occasions continues after the death of a loved one.

The environment is homely and beautifully kept. The staff were so respectful and caring. They treated my friend with dignity and empathy and in his last days made sure his spiritual needs were also met. The home also has a cat and dog, that meant so much to my friend and was a great comfort to him.
Can't thank them all enough.

This facility is a very caring one.
All the people working there are kind, considerate and mindful of occupants needs.
After looking at many options, this one is the best for caring and nursing.
Most importantly all the staff care and show it with their compassionate feelings.
I think they are great
at their job.

My mother came here for two weeks ago, the placement was arranged very quickly by Sutton CCA as she needed urgent 24-hour care. I am amazed by the fabulous care my mother is receiving here. All the staff have made her feel very safe and welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone, I have been kept
fully informed at all times how my mother's condition is being managed. My mother is so happy here she never wants to leave! I sincerely hope she can stay here and I would recommend this wonderful home to anyone looking for somewhere to place a loved one.

My father was a resident at St Jude's Nursing Home for almost 3 years. He received the best care anyone could wish for. The staff were always kind and patient. A cup of tea was always offered to us during our weekly visits. We were kept updated about my father's condition. Any changes about medication
were relayed to us. We could tell by my father's face and his reactions to staff that he was happy and well cared for.

My husband went into St Judes Nursing Home in April 2015 until he passed away in September 2016. The care and attention that he received whilst there, was second to none, nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff were first class and did all they could for him to make him as comfortable as possible.
Whenever family or friends visited they always received a warm welcome and if more than two visitors arrived they made sure a private area was available. I cannot give enough praise to the staff of St Judes, they were all so very good.

From the outset everyone was kind, caring and professional. My mother received palliative care, and was only there for not quite 2 weeks before she died but the care was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. The home was clean and tidy at all times. Every resident seemed content and happy, there
was a lot of activities provided for the residents, lots of stimulation to help those who need extra help and care. I would recommend St Jude's to anyone who asks.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.550)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.550) out of 10 for St Jude's Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.550 for St Jude's Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (252 Excellents x 5) + (155 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 424 Ratings = 4.55
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Jude's Nursing Home is based on 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 35 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
