Overall Experience

Generally the care and nursing staff have been very good, especially in the last few weeks as my mothers health deteriorates. In the past the food has been poor, recently mum hasn't had much due to her condition. I marked security down as there have been several things that have gone missing in the past, expensive bottles of scent, an antique vase of sentimental value. When the last item was mentioned the management said nothing sentimental value should be brought in. In our opinion this is mums home and sentimental items are important thats why management have been marked down!! Not good!

Staff care for my mother well and she is happy. Key worker is very knowledgeable about her when I see her. There is a problem with her belongings and clothes going missing and we are asked for new clothes lot - despite labeling. The communication of more senior staff is not as good as key worker. I acknowledged a big problem when DNA request not being followed up with GP after we requested it.

My Dad has been here since he was discharged from hospital in Jan 2026. We had limited options from social services but were lucky Lynton Hall was one of them. The staff are friendly and the nursing manager is experienced and knows what she's doing. The home itself is well maintained and provides a nice environment for the residents. The food is not bad but could be better in terms of variety and options for healthier desserts.

Please can we say how absolutely perfect this care home is. The staff and the management are fantastic; you can call in any time and you will find the care home is spotlessly tidy and clean. The staff are always there to help if needed, in fact, we have said to them to save us a place when we get too old to cope with life.

As a 'care home' there is an expectation of course
The 'expectation' has been more than achieved & can't speak highly enough of accommodation, food (far more than needed!) and staff.

Lovely people and all my impressions (4 days) & doubt will change in future

I am pleased that my sister takes part in activities that you arrange for them - She has been colouring in (something she would never have done before!) and generally keeping her busy and relaxed. Also pleased that she is around people. This place has certainly been keeping her in good form.

When selecting and applying for a place at Lynton Hall I was the nominated representative for Nick who has been resident since May this year.
Our first contact with Bupa was fine and the procedure was straightforward. Since his arrival we found the management and staff to friendly and welcoming.
Accommodation is limited in size but more than adequate for its purpose. The room and communal areas are always clean and tidy. Food and drinks agreeable and the absence of complaint front Nick appears to confirm this.

Staff members are always polite and friendly and assistance to visitors is always given willingly. Our experience of the level of care and support is good. We belive that Nick is relatively happy on his own for periods of time., having previously lived on his own for many years.

I recently spent 2 weeks in Lynton following knee replacement surgery, and I can't praise it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, the staff demonstrated an exceptional approach toward the elderly, the vulnerable, and those in recovery. Every resident is treated with the utmost respect and dignity, even when they are unable to communicate verbally. Their patience and compassion are evident every single day. The dedication, warmth, and humanity shown by the entire team make this home stand out. It is a place where kindness is not just practised but deeply felt.

In November 2023 it was clear my mother (90) had reached the stage in her life where she needed full-time nursing and caring. At Lynton Hall Care Home she found this from the moment she arrived. I was quickly reassured that Mum was in excellent hands and being looked after. The nursing and caring given to my mum were exemplary. I was informed of any issues promptly.

My husband and I became part of the community on our regular visits. My mother found new friends, the staff became friends but always professional in their roles. My mum spent the last year of her life in a caring place, all her needs looked after to the very end, December 2024.
