Lynton Hall Care Home

It was one of the saddest days of my life. As my mum gasped her last breath, I was at her bedside, holding her hand. I cried in agony and almost passed out, the staff at Lynton Hall comforted me, the deputy and the nurse ensured I was given medical and emotional support, and carers respected my feelings. As I head home, I stopped by the manager's office, she invited me in, that was the first time we'd met in person as she was new, but it felt I knew her for so long because she's in contact with my brother. She listened as I share my grieving moment, and the stories about my mother, she bring solace and comfort. All the staff treated my mum, me and my brother like a family. I will truly miss my mum and I will also miss visiting the Lynton Hall family. Thank you for looking after mum!

My husband had a two week respite care in Lynton Hall Care Home. I was very pleased with the care provided and would recommend the service.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Showed consideration and care to my aunt. Especially as it was her 101st birthday and they had baked a huge cake for her. I was able to bring some personal pictures which have strong memories for her and these were hung on the walls so she could see and talk about their significance to her.

The care shown to my mother and to her family was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. We will always be grateful.

We were the first people to use the newly set up isolation pod for visitors and family. This was a great help as we had to deal with some urgent business for my father. We had a limited time frame to deal with this because of the restrictions with the COVID19 virus crisis. We were able to complete successfully with the help of the deputy manager and the care staff. Thank you all.

My 91-year-old father has been at Lynton Hall for almost 2 years. He has mobility issues and dementia, and like many in his situation, doesn't feel he needs to be in a home. Despite his reluctance, he gets on very well at Lynton Hall. He has a lovely room and is well cared for. The staff are all very friendly and really treat him as an individual. The Covid pandemic has been particularly hard on care home residents and their families but the management has been very accommodating and facilitated various visits when possible. Overall I am very satisfied with the quality of care at Lynton Hall.

The rooms are tidy and clean. The home is well run on a professional level!

My aunt has been cared for with kindness and dignity since August 2020. The nurse, activities coordinator and her team of carers have facilitated a calm but attentive settling in process. Throughout the pandemic they have enabled family and friends to regularly communicate via FaceTime which has been a blessing. We have had regular medical updates about my aunt’s health both mental and physical. She is always peaceful and sometimes quite chatty during our calls and I always have the feeling that she is being well cared for.

Special mention must go to two nurses and to the activities organiser, who have been especially supportive.

The visit went ahead and I was given privacy to discuss our business and my brother was able to participate via a WhatsApp video call. I was signed in and out correctly and offered any other assistance.

Following my mum's passing and a decline in health, Dad came to Lynton Hall and the staff have worked tirelessly to settle Dad and meet his medical needs.

Since my mother came to the care home in late July 2020, I am very pleased the way she has been cared for. All the staff and management have been really helpful and caring.

The staff are very helpful and always a smile on their faces. My mother is very happy with the staff, food and clean room. Thank you all.

My mother of 98 is treated with lots of care and dignity. The staff are doing their best to keep mum as comfortable as possible. My mother is kept at peace with lots of care.

I have been living here since the year of 1996. I am very happy and content here. The staff are very kind and always ready to help, to whatever the help I need, meals, taking my tablets. I have a large double room bedroom. Great respect is given by all staff and living on my own since mother died in 1974, Lynton Hall Care Home, I could not be more content and happier, with good meals and even your own washing of clothes is done. What more could I ask for making myself happier.

I am quite happy but need my hair cut and shampoo. My family want to take me out. Very happy with a clean, sunny room, very quiet and always sleep well. I never expected to end up in a care home, being 96yrs of age, I will see it through to the end and stay put. Sold my bungalow, so no choice. My choice of vegetables is not what they dish up.

I was able to visit my Dad today after four months of lockdown. It was an arranged appointment with a sheltered area set up in the garden and all the required PPE was provided. It was amazing to see him after so long and he seemed to be in very high spirits and happy as ever. It seems to me he has really settled in well and the staff all seem very nice and helpful. These visits can only be a great boost to all the residents and their families and it was really well organised. Many thanks to all involved.

During my friends' stay at Lynton Hall, she received excellent medical attention from professional staff. They really care for each resident. She had a lovely bright room. Good food was well presented and all her needs were met. We felt welcome to visit at any time. The nursing and admin staff were always willing to give us updates. I highly recommend Lynton Hall. I know my friend felt safe and happy there. Everyone has been so kind.
