Our mother was at Magnolia for a little over 2 months but for her last months, this was absolutely the most appropriate place to be. She was frail but made to feel so comfortable. All the staff were lovely, and the end was very peaceful for her

Review from Gillian F (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

When the time came to choose a care home for our 95 year old mother, we narrowed it down to the choices. The main reasons we went with Magnolia was because of its proximity to the local park and the overall friendliness of the staff, their professionalism and the genuine care they showed for the residents. Now that she has been there for 3 months, we have come to know the staff more, and to see close up just how well run the facility is. Wayne leads a wonderful team of employees who seem genuinely happy to work there. The activities team is simply the BEST! Thank you, Magnolia.

Reply from Wayne Hughes, Senior General Manager at Barchester Magnolia Court Care Home

Dear Gillian, it is so nice to hear and receive your comments. Of course it is always our aim to ensure that all residents are treated with 'genuine care' as well as the wider family members. Your appreciation will be shared with the team. Always nice to see you when you visit.

I would like to to highlight he activities staff who engage with my Mum. They bring a singer to her room to sing a personal selection of songs and I was able to tell her my Mum's favourite singer and she was looking up suitable songs to sing next time. Staff also engage with my Mum in group activities getting her down to the lounge so she isn't isolated. This is appreciated. They noticed how my Mum responded to pets so they brought their own pets in to interact with her when she wasn't able to get out of her room. They really do think about individualised care.

Reply from Wayne Hughes, Senior General Manager at Barchester Magnolia Court Care Home

Thank you so much for your review and your positive thoughts on our individualised care. We aim to ensure every residents has a positive person centred care approach and this is done through understanding their likes and dislikes and life history. Nice to hear how impressed you are with our activity team also. I will pass your comments to the team.

Review from Kelly M (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 19 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My nan moved into this care home just before Christmas, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From the moment I visited, Wayne, the manager, was incredibly professional and welcoming. He gave me a thorough tour of the facility, and it was evident how clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged everything is. The staff are consistently professional, compassionate, and genuinely attentive to the residents' needs. The reception area is warm and inviting, and they offer tea and coffee to visitors, making you feel instantly at home. Most importantly, my nan seems happy, comfortable, and well cared for, and that peace of mind means the world to us. I'm so grateful for the exceptional care and attention she's receiving here. Thank you

Reply from Wayne Hughes, Senior General Manager at Barchester Magnolia Court Care Home

Kelly thank you so much for this wonderful review. We do take pride in the home and are always looking at how we can make the lives of the residents and the relatives better. Nan is a real treasure and we enjoy having the pleasure of looking after her. Thank you I will pass the comments onto the staff.

Overall Experience
My mother came to Magnolia Court for 24 hour care after a deterioration in her Alzheimer's. She has settled in exceedingly well. The staff are all kind, caring and seem genuinely happy. The home is spotlessly clean, as are the residents. There are multiple activities daily, which is excellent from a stimulation point of view, so my mother is now always interacting with someone and no longer alone on her own. Magnolia Court seems to offer excellent dementia care services.

I can't recommend this place highly enough.
