Magnolia is a very friendly, clean and buzzing with life nursing home.
Residents and staff are one big family. There is compassion, understanding and help.
Especially in the critical situations when residents and their families need to be comforted when the grief and distress need to be eased.
Personally,
I am grateful for the attention and help my husband and myself experienced.

My aunt-in-law was in Magnolia Court (Barchester Care Home) for nearly six years until she passed away peacefully aged 91. Throughout her stay we had no significant complaints: she was well cared for and comfortable, and the staff were always kind and gentle to her. It is a pleasant care home with high
standards and I thoroughly recommend it.

I fell just before Christmas 2017 and fractured my left humerus, just below the shoulder. Over Christmas, my two daughters looked after me (I live alone) but I decided to go into care and let them be free of worry.
This home is delightful - the staff is a real league of nations but they work together
very harmoniously and nothing is too much trouble. As to cost, it is dearer than other homes in the neighbourhood but in my opinion, it is well worth the extra expense.

Magnolia Court is an extraordinary care home. It is, in my experience, difficult to manage the enormous pressures of caring for the elderly, frail and vulnerable members of our society. Our aunt has been looked after with an extraordinary degree of professionalism, dedication and real care. It is not
just one person who makes the difference but the way everyone seems to work as a team. My aunt's dignity and humanity are respected and acknowledged and every attention is given to the details of her care by the wonderful staff and management of this excellent care home. Fantastic.

Over 30 years ago I was befriended by my then neighbour. As the years passed I moved but she remained in the same area. As she had no family I became her next of kin and had to eventually move her to a home. After looking around I found Magnolia court. The care was second to none and the staff are caring
and compassionate. She remained there very happily until she passed away recently.

My mother stayed for over 1 month in short-term respite care and her stay was very comfortable. She was apprehensive but she was well supported from the start and the manager met personally with me to review options and explain the process, which put my mind at rest. The food was to our surprise very
good and the rooms were well appointed. The downstairs sitting room area is lovely for a chat and the staff were always accommodating. I highly recommend Magnolia Court.

I would like to say I am a long time friend of a resident for over four years. I always find she is well fed and kept very clean too. I would notice if it was not as I still do volunteering with elderly folk in the Hospital. She appears content with her surroundings and the staff say she is sweet, I

The majority of staff are kind and thoughtful but the turnover is alarming, meaning that at times, the provision is not adequate and the residents and remainings staff are therefore not fully supported.


The entrance hall and downstairs lounges are well decorated and smart but more care should be

given to individual rooms, upstairs lounges and the maintenance of furnishings and fixtures.

The ability of staff varies between highly experienced and charming to stupidity almost beyond belief! Some of the divisions of responsibility of different levels of staff are ridiculous. For instance, I now know why all care homes smell of urine. I had a serious spill of catheter bag of urine which
required immediate attention as it was on a carpeted floor. But the nurse couldn't mop it up and the assistants could not mop it up- it had to wait for a "domestic" to do it by which time the whole carpet needed to be cleaned and the smell is still present.

My mum stayed here for 3 weeks respite at short notice, as she had high anxiety as the rest of the family were going abroad on holiday for 2 weeks. The staff were outstanding, they developed a care plan and reassured us they would provide excellent personal care and they did. Nothing was too much trouble
and my mum has come home physically and emotionally stronger than ever.

Magnolia Court is very well maintained.
Very clean with attractive lounges.
There is entertainment for residents and care is taken to make residents feel at home.
The standard of nursing is excellent and I feel very confident that my husband is being looked after.

The staff are kind and caring, always smiling and very professional.


I have no other experience of care homes but I believe this home is exceptional. It is very calm and you feel that your loved ones receive all the medical and caring support they need day and night.

I have found the staff to be kind and caring. Good activities. The organisers in charge of activities and days out are particularly helpful and enthusiastic and respectful to the residents. I cannot praise them enough. My Mum's main complaint is that the food could be hotter - mentioned many times!
But overall we are delighted.

I started working in the industry whilst at University and developed a genuine passion for making a difference to the lives of people that needed our support. Over the years I have worked in a number of roles and I have had the absolute pleasure of working for Barchester Healthcare for the last 10 years. Working with the very best in the sector has given me the tools to ensure that I can continue my passion in making a difference and ensuring that our residents are treated with respect and dignity. Promoting and understanding the person centred care needs of every resident in Magnolia Court is second to none to ensure that are residents live happy and healthy lives and I will work with the team to ensure this is in place. I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work in both hospital settings and private care, gaining valuable experience across a variety of clinical environments. My passion for nursing stems from my genuine desire to help humanity achieve optimum well-being and receive care that is safe, effective, and truly satisfactory. As the new Deputy Manager at Magnolia Court, I look forward to supporting the General Manager in all aspects of service delivery and working closely with every member of the team. My focus will be on ensuring that all service users and residents receive person-centred care in a well-led, compliant, and supportive environment, fully in line with the company’s policies and procedures.


My goal is to bring the best to the table, to lead by example, and to continue learning and growing within the organisation. I have been working at Magnolia Court since 2013. I started as an Adult Registered Nurse, which led to an opportunity to be a Unit Lead for our Memory Lane dementia community. I am now working as a Senior Nurse in the home, providing management support on Clinical processes.


This allows me to apply my nursing and management experience, caring for our residents and staff in all departments, giving me satisfaction with the support I am able to provide.


I also enjoy giving my input on ways of leading the home toward providing an excellent service, enriching the lives of those who live here and those who work here, too.


Aside from work, I play the guitar, support Tottenham Hotspur Football Team and enjoy walking my pug whose name is 'Pon', every day, which is a great comfort to me.

I joined Barchester in 2016, starting at Bryn Ivor Lodge in Wales. In 2021, I made the exciting move to Magnolia Court, embracing the opportunity to be part of a new community and contribute to a different home environment. This transition has allowed me to broaden my experience and deepen my commitment to providing excellent care and support.


I began my journey as a care assistant and transitioned to an admin assistant last year. From May until October 2024, I became part of the transposing team for Enable, travelling around London to assist other Barchester care homes in the region with the important transition from paper records to digital systems, which I truly enjoyed.


I am very passionate about supporting the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and working closely with residents and their families, ensuring their needs are met and their voices heard. My goal is to contribute positively to the care environment, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for everyone involved.


Outside of work, I love to hike, swim, and attend concerts and festivals in my spare time.

I have been working in the Activities department in care homes since 2002, starting my career at Four Seasons, then joining Barchester in 2014. I was awarded a Great British Care Award in 2013 and was a finalist at the National Care Awards in the same year, as well as being a finalist in the 2014 Great British Care Awards. I have a natural love for the elderly and enjoy every single day in their company.

Hello, I am Jacqueline and I joined the Magnolia Court Team in November 2024 as Head Chef.


I qualified as a chef at Hammersmith college in 1999. I had a love for cooking since I was a child, my siblings and I helped our mum in the kitchen and as we grew up and took it in turns to cook to help our mum who was a nurse.


During my career as a Chef I have cooked at a number of wonderful and interesting places such the BBC, Westminster Council and The Royal ballet. I had the pleasure of cooking for Darcy Bussell, The Lord Mayors and Princess Margaret.


I love cooking as it enables me to be creative and make people happy at the same time. I was inspired by my mum and always wanted to cook with in health care. I really enjoy meeting and getting to know residents. It makes me very happy to see the delight and enjoyment my food brings to people.
