My husband has been at Magnolia Court for about 5 weeks. I am thrilled with the standard of care and the level of nursing and general caring. Each person has a warm and kind attitude and does their best to be attentive and helpful both to my husband and family members.

This home is very well run by the manager and her staff, who maintain a friendly but professional atmosphere. They are very welcoming to visitors and helpful when the needs of residents require discussing.
The home has been built some years ago, so that the rooms are rather small and lack ensuite showers.

However, major modernisation would involve loss od a number of rooms and probably make the home not viable economically. The staff manage this limitation very well.

My mother has been a resident at Magnolia Court for almost two years with advanced stage dementia with Lewy Bodies. She requires full care.

I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Even though my mother cannot communicate and is immobile, she is treated with warmth, dignity and affection, gentleness and consideration for her every possible need.

Returning from 5 days in hospital with a chest infection was like coming home; my mother was welcomed and she settled back into her own bed with relief. I, myself, look forward to visiting and spending time - the friendly, inviting atmosphere and high level of competency give absolute confidence in the care residents receive.

The gardens are beautiful, the food superb, residents' own rooms and the dining room and lounges are elegant. We feel incredibly lucky that mum has had her end of life in contentment and love at Magnolia Court.

My husband came to Magnolia Court with advanced bladder cancer. He was looked after very well by very caring staff. The management was excellent and immediately dealt with any problems which we identified. All the staff were very friendly and willing, from the kitchen staff to the cleaners to the nurses.

My dear friend and former mentor needs memory care at this time in his life. He is an extremely dignified gentleman with a long and illustrious career. The care that he is receiving is superb. The staff are extremely professional in their care of all residents. The atmosphere is pleasant and all residents are treated with patience, respect and dignity from everyone on staff from nurses, aids, meal service, cleaning to administrative staff. What an amazing place!

My wife has been at Magnolia Court for 18 months. She is well cared for and I am able to visit her most days. The staff are amazing. The management is fine. The cost is high but represents value for money. It is a great help that the NHS bears more than half of the cost.

From my first visit to Magnolia Court Care Home, I found the care home itself, spotless and well kept. the atmosphere and staff (all members) were warm friendly and very caring. There was constant activities, meetings and events that included family as well as relatives. Information was up to date and displayed throughout the building. It is a pleasure to visit my Mother here as I am confident she is receiving the best of treatment. Staff keep us updated and involved in all matters.

Magnolia is a very friendly, clean and buzzing with life nursing home.
Residents and staff are one big family. There is compassion, understanding and help.
Especially in the critical situations when residents and their families need to be comforted when the grief and distress need to be eased.

Personally, I am grateful for the attention and help my husband and myself experienced.

My aunt-in-law was in Magnolia Court (Barchester Care Home) for nearly six years until she passed away peacefully aged 91. Throughout her stay we had no significant complaints: she was well cared for and comfortable, and the staff were always kind and gentle to her. It is a pleasant care home with high standards and I thoroughly recommend it.

I fell just before Christmas 2017 and fractured my left humerus, just below the shoulder. Over Christmas, my two daughters looked after me (I live alone) but I decided to go into care and let them be free of worry.

This home is delightful - the staff is a real league of nations but they work together very harmoniously and nothing is too much trouble. As to cost, it is dearer than other homes in the neighbourhood but in my opinion, it is well worth the extra expense.

Overall Experience

Magnolia Court is an extraordinary care home. It is, in my experience, difficult to manage the enormous pressures of caring for the elderly, frail and vulnerable members of our society. Our aunt has been looked after with an extraordinary degree of professionalism, dedication and real care. It is not just one person who makes the difference but the way everyone seems to work as a team. My aunt's dignity and humanity are respected and acknowledged and every attention is given to the details of her care by the wonderful staff and management of this excellent care home. Fantastic.

Over 30 years ago I was befriended by my then neighbour. As the years passed I moved but she remained in the same area. As she had no family I became her next of kin and had to eventually move her to a home. After looking around I found Magnolia court. The care was second to none and the staff are caring and compassionate. She remained there very happily until she passed away recently.

My mother stayed for over 1 month in short-term respite care and her stay was very comfortable. She was apprehensive but she was well supported from the start and the manager met personally with me to review options and explain the process, which put my mind at rest. The food was to our surprise very good and the rooms were well appointed. The downstairs sitting room area is lovely for a chat and the staff were always accommodating. I highly recommend Magnolia Court.

I would like to say I am a long time friend of a resident for over four years. I always find she is well fed and kept very clean too. I would notice if it was not as I still do volunteering with elderly folk in the Hospital. She appears content with her surroundings and the staff say she is sweet, I think so too. In my opinion, she is given great care in all areas of her being here.
