Queens court is a very caring, safe and happy home. My mother has lived there for some time now and I cannot thank the management and staff enough for their attention and care.
My mum has lived at Queen's Court for nearly two years. It is a lovely place, with very supportive, kind staff. The food is generally excellent. This is how a care home should be.

Meet the Team (15)

I joined Barchester Healthcare in 1998. Before that, I worked in the NHS where I developed my passion - Caring for Older People. After I qualified as an RGN, I continued to develop my career by studying BSc in Nursing Studies, a Diploma in Orthopaedics and an MSc in Health Sciences.
The team and I are committed to ensuring that the residents have a good quality of life. This is working with evidence-based practices or projects like nutrition, non-pharmaceutical interventions, and life story work and we advocate the Whole Home Approach Model. We are proud to have consistently achieved good reports and reviews from those who know us. This is a very happy home and you are very welcome to visit us.

Thanks to Barchester Healthcare, Shaaron Caratella (General Manager) and Queens Court Team for all their support during my career progression.

I have been a dedicated nurse since the day I started working as a Nurse at Queens Court in 2011. I started my career as a Junior Nurse, and after years of practice, dedication and learning, I have now become the Senior Nurse. My focus is always on the residents' health and well-being, and by maintaining the standards of Barchester. I strive to ensure that our residents are given person-centred care, have a meaningful care plan to support their needs, are given timely consultation with the doctor, and are comfortable living here in Queens Court. I also make sure that the team I am working with are comfortable and happy with their work. Also, I actively promote honesty, open communication and a safe space for everyone to voice concerns and share ideas.

My role as the Dementia Care Champion is pivotal within a Memory Lane Community. Dementia Care Champions receive additional training for the Dementia Care Team and act as coaches within our home. As the Dementia Care Champion for Queens Court. I also work closely with a Dementia Care Specialist to ensure that good Dementia care is being maintained and that any potential 'issues' have a quick resolution.

I have been working at Queens Court since 2005. During this period of time, I am a strong advocate of the Whole Home Approach. We implemented this model several years ago. I am delighted to see staff work in different departments, develop their skills and get promoted. But most of all I am passionate about improving the quality of life of my residents. This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible team that we have here. I enjoy my job as head of hotel services; it has boosted my confidence and inspired me to achieve more.

I am an experienced and passionate chef with over 20 years in Queens Court. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong commitment to preparing nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and care. My approach combines organisation, attention to detail, and a genuine love for cooking. Cooking is more than just a job for me; it’s something I truly love, and I’m dedicated to delivering meals that bring comfort, satisfaction, and a personal touch. I also believe in making a strong team that also believes in making residents’ lives better by providing them health nutritious meals and also taking care of their likes and dislikes.

I have worked for Barchester for over 10 years, where I have gained a wide range of experience in the property services department.
At Queens Court, my responsibilities are to ensure that all statutory requirements are up to date and that safety comes first for everyone in the home.

I am Sajeesh Cherian, and I am the Activities Coordinator for Life Enrichment at our care home. I am passionate about creating meaningful, enjoyable, and engaging experiences that enhance the well-being and quality of life of our residents. I believe that every day offers an opportunity to bring joy, purpose, and connection. Through a variety of activities, events, social gatherings, and person-centred programmes, I strive to support residents in maintaining their independence, interests, and sense of community.
Getting to know each resident as an individual is at the heart of what I do. By understanding their life stories, hobbies, preferences, and achievements, I can help create activities that are both enjoyable and meaningful. Whether it's arts and crafts, music sessions, gardening, reminiscence activities, outings, celebrations, or simply sharing a conversation and a smile, my goal is to ensure that every resident feels valued, included, and supported. I am proud to be part of a team dedicated to providing a warm, caring, and enriching environment where residents can continue to thrive and make wonderful memories. I look forward to getting to know residents and their families and helping create happy and fulfilling experiences for everyone.

I qualified as the first Care Practitioner at Queens Court Barchester Health Care. This is a relatively new role and is very exciting. I support the nurses and contribute to the provision and monitoring of the care of our residents. I am also the training and induction champion for the home.

I have been a part of the Admin team since 2023. I am a weekend receptionist. Queens Court has given me the opportunity to become a better version of myself. I have learned a lot as well as I made very nice relations with the staff, residents and the residents' families. I strive to have knowledge about the Whole-Home approach and Person-centred care, which is important for residents' wellbeing and overall health. I was trained by a whole experienced team who have been a part of Queens Court for many years, and I am grateful for that. It is a pleasure to be a part of Queens Court.

My role is to support Barchester's commitment is providing high-quality end-of-life care within our care homes and raise awareness and disseminate knowledge amongst my colleagues to ensure best practices in end-of-life care.

I have been a dedicated team member at Queens Court since 2016, committed to providing high-quality care to our residents. I started my career as a Care Assistant and after learning and practising, I was promoted to a Senior carer, and now I am a Care Practitioner. The journey was not easy, but the amount of support I got from my Manager and the wonderful Queens Court team was incredible. I always strive to make residents' lives better by giving them person-centred care, treating them with dignity and respect, and according to the Barchester standard. My focus is not only on ensuring the well-being of those we care for, but also on fostering a strong, empowered, and passionate team. I believe that when staff feel supported and valued, they deliver the best possible care.
As a Speak Up Champion, I actively promote honesty, open communication, and a safe space for everyone to voice concerns and share ideas. Creating an environment where both residents and staff feel heard is essential to maintaining a positive and compassionate care home. I am proud to be part of a team that strives for excellence and continuously works to improve the lives of our residents.

My role as Dignity Champion is that support Barchester's commitment to provide high-quality care.
Ensuring that dignity is at the heart of everything we do in our homes. We promote activities within our care home, that encourage colleagues to access and share best practices and stories of success in relation to dignity.
Using appropriate resources that fit our local environment.
