As soon as we viewed Red Court we knew our mum would be looked after and cared for. The home is surrounded by beautifully kept grounds with a pond and seating area. The staff are welcoming and caring. The manager often comes to say hello engaging in a conversation with us and our mum which shows us how much she cares. Even the gardener always makes a point of speaking to us, offering us a drink or just chatting. My mum has changed now, she is happy and always smiling. We feel like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders knowing she is cared for 24-hours a day in a lovely environment. Entertainment is often put on - singers, exercise classes and film days. Bedrooms are modern, clean and have a TV.

Most of the staff are good and efficient. The worst is the maintenance of the inside of the home. The person concerned is not proactive and is lazy. The gardener by contrast is very proactive and helpful. The entertainment management arranges monthly/daily activities but is frequently away - on holiday! One long term carer is careless and clumsy and when the management is away they behave as if they own the home and boss their colleagues about and some residents too.

My mother was a resident at Red Court for just over 2 years. She sadly passed away in July 2021 at the home.
Her time there was immensely happy and she was made to feel so welcome by all the staff from her first day.
It was a difficult decision to move her into a home but this was made so much easier by the care and kindness from everyone there. This included kitchen staff, gardener to management.
The beautiful garden made it a pleasant place to visit and spend precious time with Mum.
Even during difficult times over the last year, we felt well informed and in regular contact within the rules allowed.

I would definitely recommend Red Court to other families.

My mum, after spending quite a lot of time in hospital over the last year, has settled in really well to Red Court Care Home. All the staff, from nursing care, administration and managers have been very attentive to Mum's needs and to the process of adjustment to a new stage in her life. I think they have made great efforts to get to know her as a person and understand her. Our family has felt very supported by the home and communication has been really good. I would like to say a big thank you to Red Court Care Home.

My dad came to stay at Red Court in the middle of April. As a family, we agonized over the decision to move Dad from his house, which he'd lived in for 61 years, into a nursing home. However, Dad's health had deteriorated quite rapidly and we were concerned that a continued decline would mean that care at home was no longer possible. Sadly, our concerns were proved right and Dad passed away on the 7th May. He was therefore only at Red Court for 3.5 weeks but our experience during this short time could not have been more positive. The manager of the home was simply lovely; she was kindness personified and our Dad took an immediate shine to her. The support, understanding, respect and thoughtfulness that me, my family and my dad received from day one, was faultless. Even in the last days of Dad's life, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Dad was treated with tenderness, dignity and respect, even in the hours after he'd passed away. Thank you to all the team at Red Court.

My father is very pleased with the staff and the service provided by Red Court. He tells me that the food is excellent and the staff are attentive. I was lucky to visit him with his grandson under the new government guidelines which my father was very happy about as he has never seen his grandson before. My visit from beginning to end was very pleasant, the staff were chatty and very helpful. My son enjoyed the gardens outside, particularly the pond and water features (which I am sure the residents enjoy too). Overall I am very satisfied that my father is in good hands and look forward to visiting him again very soon.

Staff are very friendly and always happy to help. Communication from the home has been really good, especially over the last few months during lockdown, when visiting is limited and families are reliant on information being given about what the residents are doing.

My Mum has been a resident of Red Court since April 2019. My partner and I were very impressed with all aspects of Red Court when we visited prior to my Mum moving in and she settled in very quickly, thanks to all of the staff. And then for this second year of my Mum's time at Red Court, we've had the world's first pandemic in over 100 years and all the restrictions this has meant for residents and families. Thankfully, all of the staff at Red Court understand this and they too have been through some upheaval, with the previous Home Manager, Deputy Manager and Activities Co-ordinator all leaving over a short period and a Nurse, in particular, had to step in and do a brilliant job performing three full-time roles until current Home Manager arrived. The new manager has ensured that she and all the Red Court staff continue to endeavour to provide the best possible service to all residents and their family members and this was particularly welcome at Christmas, a time my Mum has always enjoyed.

My Mum became a resident at Red Court just before the national lockdown in March 2020, so this has been a challenging time. Despite this, the compassionate care and sincere empathy that my Mum has received has been truly outstanding. All of the staff and management at this care home treat her as though she were a member of their own family and continue to do so in the midst of what is still a very challenging time. With Christmas approaching, it will be difficult with her not being able to join our celebrations but I know everyone at Red Court will make her Christmas and all the residents at Red Court, as happy and enjoyable as they can. I would highly recommend this Bupa Care Home to anyone looking for a placement for a relative or loved one.

My husband has been in Red Court Care Home for 3 1/2 years because of numerous strokes. He is extremely disabled - unable to do anything for himself, having to trust the staff for all care and attention. Everyone has been extremely kind and caring at all times, so much so that they seem like our extended family. They treat us both with such TLC. I cannot thank them enough.

As I am only a visitor and not a resident, I do not have experience of the service provided. However, my first impressions of Red Court are very good. All staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. The gardens and environment are beautiful and peaceful.
I feel confident that my dear friend, who is being admitted today for palliative care, will be safe, comfortable and treated with respect.

The staff I have met have all been reassuring, informative and professional. Thank you.

It has been a difficult time for all connected with care homes. We are grateful Mum is still alive but are sad that there has not been a member of staff available to take Mum into the garden during all the lovely weather we have had during lockdown (Summer 2020). Mum loves to be in the sun more than anything so we are disappointed that despite numerous requests and a recommendation from a Bupa Manager, that Mum has been in the garden less than ten times since March 16th. The Bupa Manager was hoping Mum would get out three times a week!. I can only assume a lack of staff has been the problem. Sitting in the sun would have helped to promote Mum's wellbeing. We understand there will be an activities coordinator starting soon so we hope Mum will get out into the garden with her and that there will be some sun for Mum to enjoy. Residents are not allowed to have their doors wide open in hot weather on the ground floor at the back of the house as it is a security risk. A side gate, better fencing to the back of the garden, and CCTV would help enormously.

I came into this home to await two operations, not because of a stroke, dementia, or other illness, where I could make decisions for myself and have not needed the amount of care that others needed. However, when I need a carer and several call bells are ringing, other residents seem to take precedence. I need two carers at a time to be hoisted to commode/wheelchair and believe most other residents only require one. Therefore, I have a longer wait. When I have been hoisted on some occasions my dignity has not always been observed with the door left open. Some carers have talked over me i.e. "is she going in the armchair?", not using my name and some staff have tended to talk down to me as if I did not have full capacity and needed supervision. I have also found the selection of food disappointing.

More staff needed. The regular staff are very good and kind but the night staff are often quite abrupt and rough. The staff work very hard but don't always have the time to ensure that my mother has all she needs to hand. It would be nice if someone had 10 minutes a day to check that she has all she needs and spend a bit more time when washing as this is often rushed.

Red Court was the 1st Nursing Home I visited from word of mouth. Mum has COPD. I knew my Mum would love it from when I drove into the lovely grounds. A member of staff greeted me with a cup of tea, and we went through what the home has to offer and how it would assist with all my Mum’s needs. I was very impressed and felt at ease. Her room looks out onto a back garden that is peaceful and beautiful with her own little patch for her to maintain with the great gardener. She has settled in very well, and between her and all the nurses that administrate her medication, she is now calmer, happier and stress-free from all the concerns she had living alone at her house. Red Court offers excellent choices of food which three times a day, along with tea, cakes, biscuits 2/47. Her quality of life is far better, and she is very well looked after and checked on. Peace of mind for me. Best decision we both made. 10 out of 10 services. Staff make it feel like a big family community. Well done!
