Overall, satisfactory/good.
On the whole, we as a family are very pleased with the care that our father receives. The staff work very hard to ensure his wellbeing and we feel confident that our father is well looked after. The staff have also proved to act quickly if there are any concerns e.g when dad was recently admitted to hospital for suspected sepsis.
My husband has been here just over a year. We as a family are very happy with the care and support we all receive.
I find the home excellent in every way. My friend is very happy and content here.
We are happy with the service and everyone who works there.
I, as a parent, need to know that my daughter is safe, happy and comfortable when I am not around and I have found this to be the case over the years.
My mum has been in the home since 2013. I find the staff friendly, nice facilities and professional care. I would recommend the care home.
They have achieved things which we didn't think were possible.
My brother has been a service user at the Willsmere Care Home for nearly 3 years. I have no major concerns in regard to how the care home is run. However, I was concerned at the lack of communication from staff when the fire alarm went off a few weeks ago. There were no clear procedures in place in regards to where visitors should go or evacuation of service users. I believe there should be routine procedures placed in each room.
The facilities are nice and the rooms comfortable.
The management staff varied. Some more committed than others. Overall a good experience, with good nursing care.
My good friend was a resident at Wilsmere House Care Home since December 2015. Sadly, he passed away this month. He received the best care possible. The staff were very professional, kind and patient. Nothing was too much for them. They were always respectful and very attached to the needs of the residents, sometimes during very challenging episodes. I cannot but praise the care my friend received while a resident at Wilsmere House.
The arrangement for the G.P. was good and the G.P. looked after her well as well.
Especially I appreciate the nurse in charge and all the other nurses who cared and gave her medication in time.
All the supporting staff and others are very kind and treated and cared for my mother well.
Managers and assistant managers and all the management team are good and provided a great service to my mother.
Overall the service is great. The building is very neat and clean.
The staff were a delight and I have no complaints.
As an advocate, it is very important for me to have an open and supportive relationship with the home. I find the care manager and staff very open to feedback and put into action my recommendations to improve the quality of care. I find the care to be kind and very sensitive to the needs of the residents. Of course, they can always improve in dementia knowledge in the interest of residents but overall, I would recommend this home!!
He had the best care possible and the staff were always kind and helpful, not only to him but to us, his family. In fact, they all became like our own family.
The only negative thing is that the staff were extremely overworked and there were not enough to them to do this wonderful and needed job. I would certainly recommend this care home.

Hello, my name is Jibin and I am the Head Chef here at Wilsmere House. It’s been more than 15 years since I embraced the art of flavour. I had the opportunity to work with great Chefs around the world and acquired many skills and knowledge. Some of the establishments I worked at are 5-star Hotels, Fine Dining Restaurants and Luxury Senior Living Homes. I’m a very inspirational, detail-oriented, Disciplined and Creative Chef. I always try to create a positive environment in and around my Kitchen. I pride myself on preparing high-quality food and what makes me very happy is to see our residents enjoy the dishes that my team and I create.
Our hospitality team are committed to providing seasonal home-cooked menus offering choice, nutrition and quality- including exciting menus to specific individual dietary needs and all appetites. We celebrate every one of our resident’s Birthday and my Kitchen team prepare homemade decorated cakes for their Birthday. The beautiful warm smile that our residents give when we present the Birthday cake is our greatest inspiration.
The food we produce is hugely important to our residents which is why it is absolutely imperative that we always get their feedback and continuously meet the needs and nutritional quota of every single resident who chooses to make Wilsmere House their home.

Matthew joined Wilsmere House in 2023 as our Head of Maintenance. Matthew comes with years of experience working in care homes and has been working very hard with upgrading our facilities.

I’ve worked with a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, etc. Personally, brain fascinates me—it challenges and inspires me every day! My passion for helping people regain independence is grounded not just in clinical expertise, but in compassion, teamwork, and connection.
I’m grateful to Barchester for supporting my growth, including through their Team Leadership Programme, which strengthened my ability to lead with empathy and purpose. Their values truly align with my own—placing people first, working together, and striving for excellence.
I live by the principle: ‘Love and do what you want.’ As a paradox, true love for what you do means acting with integrity, always doing what’s best without any expectations—not just for yourself, but for the people around you. In a team-driven environment like ours, that’s what makes the difference!
